Learn to make astronaut food at home!
Have you ever thought about what astronauts eat in space? Because there is microgravity (微重力), food must be light, safe, and won’t break into small pieces. One good way is to dry the food. This weekend, why not try making your own space food?
What You Will Need:
Fruits or vegetables (like apples or carrots) Lemon juice and water
A knife Kitchen paper A bowl A baking pan (烤盘)
How to Make It:
1. Cut the fruits or vegetables into thin pieces of the same size.
2. Put them into a bowl with lemon juice and water, and let them be there for 5 minutes.
3. Take them out and dry them with kitchen paper.
4. Put the pieces on a baking pan. Remember to keep some space between each other.
5. Heat the oven to 50℃ and dry them for about 6 hours. When they become dry and hard, they’re ready.
Why We Dry Food for Astronauts:

B
On April 19th, 2025, Beijing held a special half marathon (马拉松). About 12, 000 runners took part in it. On a separate course (跑道), beside the human runners, 21 human-like robots took the same challenge. It was the first marathon for robots.
These robots were in distinct sizes and shapes. The largest, called Tiangong Ultra, was 180 cm tall. The smallest, called Little Giant, was just under 75 cm. Each of them traveled with workers and a car holding supply parts.
The early part of the race was the easiest because the course was flat (平坦的). Later, things became more difficult. The course had 14 turns, and there were small up-and-down hills. Besides, low power was also a problem for robots. And Tiangong fell once because of it. The same thing happened to other robots, too. The biggest challenge was probably overheating. It was cool in the morning, but as the day got warmer, workers had to help the robots to keep cool.
Finally, six robots finished the race though the course was quite long for them. The first robot to cross the finishing line was Tiangong. It finished the race in 2 hours, 40 minutes and 42 seconds. The second and third place went to two small robots.
For the robots, the goal of the race wasn’t to win but to finish. Although some failed to finish the race, their efforts gave useful information for developers to improve future robots.
56. What does the underlined word “distinct” in Paragraph 2 mean?
A. Huge. B. Common. C. Perfect. D. Different.
57. Which of the following are the challenges for the robot runners?
①The low power. ②The turns and small hills. ③Overheating.
④The long course. ⑤Their sizes and shapes.
A. ①②③④ B. ①③④⑤ C. ②③④⑤ D. ①②③⑤
58. Why do developers hold this robot marathon?
A. To let robots beat humans. B. To collect useful information to improve robots.
C. To show how cool robots look. D. To make robots run faster than cars.
59. What’s the structure of this passage?
A. B. C. D.
60. What is the main idea of the passage?
A. The difficulties human runners met in a marathon.
B. A special half marathon with robot runners in Beijing.
C. How workers help robots keep cool in races.
D. The best ways to make better human-like robots.

In space, things can fly around easily. If food has water or breaks into small pieces, it can move in the air. This is dangerous for astronauts and machines. Drying the food takes away the water, so the food can last longer.
51. Which of the following is NOT needed to make homemade astronaut food?
A. A fork. B. Lemon juice. C. A knife. D. A baking pan.
52. How long should we dry the food in the oven?

A. Huge. B. Common. C. Perfect. D. Different.
