根据下文“Plants grow...with enough rain, but then dry weather makes them die quickly, and strong winds then spread fires fast.”
根据下文“lazy to clear the dry plants around their houses”可知,懒得清理干燥的植物是一种不良习惯。
under“在……下”、with“和”和below“在……下方”不符合语境。
【7题详解】
句意:直至2025年1月16日,洛杉矶的山火已经致使27人死亡,损毁了超过12000栋建筑。
根据“had killed 27 people”可知,此处在描述火灾后果,只有broke down“摧毁”能表示建筑物被破坏。calmed down“冷静下来”、turned down“拒绝”和wrote down“写下”与建筑物受损无关。
根据下文“build fireproof houses”等措施可知,这是在为未来做准备,preparing for“做准备”符合语境,looking for“寻找”、waiting for“等待”和asking for“请求”不符合预防灾害的逻辑。

The rise of AI doctors is not like something from science fiction anymore. It’s really happening now. In different parts of China, AI doctors are bringing big changes to the medical field.
In February 2025, Beijing Children’s Hospital brought in the country’s first AI pediatrician An 8-year-old boy had a sudden and serious illness. Thirteen top experts were trying hard to find the best treatment (治疗). At the same time, the AI doctor came up with a treatment plan and it was like the human doctors’ thought.
In Shandong, a couple were very distressed when their child had a high fever. They decided to try DeepSeek before going to the hospital. After putting in the description of the illness, the AI said it was probably a bacterial infection (细菌感染) and suggested some medicine. When they went to the hospital, the doctor gave exactly the same medicine.
Even in some villages of Jiangsu, AI doctors help patients tell about their illnesses and make it easier for disabled people to move around in the hospital.
All these examples show us two important things AI doctors can do. They can help top doctors make better choices and they can also make health care easier for everyone in the country. However, AI doctors need to make more improvements. As one doctor said, “AI doctors can give us ideas, but we still need the care given by humans.”
11. How does the writer describe the AI doctor’s role in Paragraph 2?
A. By listing many numbers. B. By telling a real story.
C. By asking some questions. D. By teaching a lesson.

第三段提到“a couple were very distressed when their child had a high fever.”,孩子发高烧,父母在去医院前尝试AI诊断,结合常识,孩子生病父母会担忧,distressed意为“担忧的”,与Worried同义;Bored无聊的,Relaxed放松的,Excited兴奋的,均不符合语境。
文章开头点明“AI doctors are bringing big changes to the medical field”,后续通过实例支撑这一主题,因此主旨是AI医生给医疗领域带来变化。
B
When I was in Grade 6, my father gave me a copy of Robinson Crusoe (鲁宾逊漂流记) as my 12th birthday gift. At first, I didn’t want to read it because I thought it was too thick and would be boring. But my dad told me it was a classic work and I would fall in love with it once I started.
I decided to give it a try. After reading the first few pages, I couldn’t put it down. I was totally attracted by Robinson’s adventures on the lonely island. I admired how he built a wooden house, grew corn and made simple tools all by himself to survive. Every night after finishing my homework, I would read a few chapters (章节). It took me about two weeks to finish the whole book.
After reading it, I learned a valuable lesson: no matter how hard the situation is, we should never give up easily. I also developed a strong interest in classic novels. Now, Robinson Crusoe is still my favorite book. I often read it again when I feel upset or face difficulties.
14. Why didn’t the writer want to read the book at first?
A. Because he thought it was too thick and boring.
B. Because he didn’t like his father’s choice.
C. Because he had too much homework to do.
D. Because he hated adventure stories.
15. How long did it take the writer to finish reading Robinson Crusoe?
A. About one week. B. About two weeks C. About three weeks. D. About a month.
16. What lesson did the writer learn from the book?
A. We should learn to live on an island.
B. We should give up when things get hard.
C. We should never give up no matter how difficult the situation is.
D. We should read more books in our free time.
A 15. B 16. C
第一段写明作者最初不想读这本书的原因:“At first, I didn’t want to read it because I thought it was too thick and would be boring”,这直接说明作者觉得这本书太厚,还会很无聊。
第二段末尾交代阅读时长:“It took me about two weeks to finish the whole book”,由此可知作者花了大约两周读完《鲁宾逊漂流记》。
第三段点明作者从书中学到的道理:“no matter how hard the situation is, we should never give up easily”,意思是无论处境多么艰难,我们都绝不应该轻易放弃。
C
When it comes to the Himalayas (喜马拉雅山脉), what do you have in your mind? High mountains? White snow? Both answers are right, but in the mountains, there is a place called the Valley (山谷) of Flowers and you can see a very different situation there. It is home to pretty flowers, wild plants and endangered animals.
The Valley of Flowers is in Uttarakhand, one state in the north of India. It is more than 87.5 square kilometers. There are flowers everywhere. However, these flowers are not quite the same as what we often see. They grow in high places in the mountains. There are hundreds of different kinds of flowers in this valley. They bloom (开花) between June and September. When the flowers bloom, the valley looks like a magical world with different colors.
There are also a lot of wild plants, such as trees and grass, in the Valley of Flowers. They are special. Some of them are hard to find anywhere else in the world! What’s more, some endangered animals live in the valley, like snow leopards (雪豹).
Now people have turned the Valley of Flowers into a national park. Visitors can’t build anything or live there. They can’t even stay there for too long at a time. They can only stay there for one day. It’s probably not long enough for visitors to see all the beauty there.
17. What can we see in the Valley of Flowers?
A. Flowers, grass and snow leopards. B. Flowers, trees and whales.
C. Flowers, trees and monkeys. D. Trees, grass and elephants.
18. What does the underlined word “them” refer to in Paragraph 3?
A. The trees. B. The animals. C. The flowers. D. The wild plants.
19. What is the structure of the passage? (Paragraph 1=①…)
A. B. C. D.
A 18. D 19. A
根据第二段“There are flowers everywhere.”、第三段“There are also a lot of wild plants, such as trees and grass”以及“some endangered animals live in the valley, like snow leopards”可知,可以看到花、草和雪豹。
原文“There are also a lot of wild plants...They are special. Some of them are hard to find anywhere else in the world!”中,前一句提到“wild plants”,后文“Some of them”指代的就是这些野生植物,因此“them”指代“wild plants”。
D
Running a charity shop is a popular and meaningful way to help people in need in many cities. These shops collect all kinds of donated second-hand objects from warm-hearted people, such as clothes, books, toys and everyday supplies. They sell these things at very low prices, and all the money they make is given to support sick children, homeless people and lonely elderly citizens (居民).

They are ready to spend their spare time sorting goods, cleaning shelves and serving customers patiently. They never get paid for their work, but they feel happy and proud to do something useful for society.
Many people like shopping in charity shops now. They think the goods are cheap and in good condition. Reusing second-hand things helps cut down waste and it’s also good for the environment. Besides, shoppers feel they are doing a small good deed (善事) while shopping.

The Numbers in Journey to the West
Journey to the West is a famous Chinese novel. The numbers in it are not just simple numbers, but carry rich cultural information and special meanings. Now, let’s have a look at some of the numbers and their meanings.
13,500
Do you remember what this number stands for (代表) in Journey to the West? Yes. Sun Wukong’s magic stick, also called Ruyi Jingu Bang, weighs 13,500 jin. But it’s interesting that this number is also the number of breaths a person takes in a day and night, which is written in an old book called Huangdi Neijing. This shows that the stick is as important to Sun Wukong as breathing is to a person.
81
Tang Sanzang and his apprentices (徒弟) go through nine nine eighty-one difficult adventures. In Chinese culture, the number nine is very important. It is the biggest single number and means something is complete (完整的). Eighty-one is nine times (乘以) nine, so it means they go through a lot of hard times to achieve something great.
108,000
The total distance they travel to get the sacred texts (经文) is 108,000 li (a unit of distance). The number 108 is special in Buddhism (佛教). It is a lucky number that means everything is perfect. For example, Buddhists often use prayer beads (念珠) with 108 beads to help them get rid of (摆脱) bad luck.
So, in the book Journey to the West, these numbers are not just for counting. They help us understand the story better and show us how special and meaningful the journey is. They make the novel more amazing and are also an important part of traditional Chinese culture.
