第四部分 写作
第一节作答示例:
Dear friends,
My ideal career is to be a software engineer, because I am deeply interested in coding and eager to design digital products that can bring great convenience to people’ s daily life.
To make my dream come true, I will take practical steps in advance. First, I will attach great importance to math and computer courses to lay a solid academic foundation. Besides, I plan to take online coding courses in my spare time and practice regularly. Most importantly, I will keep updating my knowledge to keep pace with the fast-developing tech field.
Thank you!
第二节作答示例:
As I was looking around, I felt a gentle pull on my shirt. Looking down, I found a little girl with big eyes looking at me. She was rather lovely and pretty, holding a torn stuffed rabbit. “Will you play with me?” she asked. I hesitated for a second, then knelt down and took her small hand. We sat on the floor, building towers with blocks and telling stories. She told me her name was Lila, and that the rabbit was her only friend. As I listened, my anger melted away – all I could think about was how to make her smile.
That afternoon, I forgot all about the lake. I painted pictures with the children and read stories to them. When it was time to leave, Lila hugged me tightly and whispered, “Thank you for being my friend.” On the drive home, I turned to Mom and said, “Sorry Mum, I misunderstood your good intention and I will come back soon.” My mother just smiled. It was in that moment that I realized the thing I should be thankful for most was not the fun plans I had lost, but the chance to care for someone else.

Most of us have clothes in our wardrobe (that we never wear but can't quite let
go of.I have a bright yellow dress that I bought five years ago on a whim during a summer
sale, and I've worn it only three times since then.Every time I open my wardrobe, its vivid
color catches my eye immediately.I feel guilty not just because I wasted money on a dress
I didn't really need, but also because of the dress itself:it's soft,well-made,and still looks
brand-new-what has it done to deserve being hidden away in the corner, untouched for
months?
I hate seeing stuff go to waste, whether it's food or clothes.I always go to great
lengths to make dinner using up whatever is left in the fridge, telling myself this is not only
healthier but also greener than ordering takeout. So it feels wrong to give up on the yellow
dress.I want to find a way to make it work and let it shine again.
So I set myself a small project:wearing the clothes I bought but never actually wore.
Having kept it for months,I've found the key to reconnecting with these clothes is trying
to rediscover the spark that drew me to them originally. As for the yellow dress,I bought it
for weekend outings-occasions that could be casual in jeans, but would feel more special
if I dressed up a little. Now I pair it with a denim jacket and sneakers, making it less formal
and more suitable for my daily life.
Sometimes, you'll find that you simply made a mistake in buying certain clothes.
Over time, your taste changes, but your shopping instincts (haven't caught up.You
still reach for pieces that fit the old you,not the current version. As I get older,I wear
bright colors less often,so I'll be more mindful of not shopping for the person I was 15
years ago. These"mistake"clothes teach us wisdom:sometimes you win by finding a new
use for them, and sometimes you learn to shop more wisely next time.
24.What does the underlined phrase"on a whim"probably mean?
A.Without any plan.
B.After careful thought.
C.On a special occasion.
D.For a practical reason.
25.What does the author want to show by mentioning her dinner cooking practice?
A.Her passion for cooking.
B.Her habit of saving money.
C.Her refusal of unhealthy eating.
D.Her pursuit of a sustainable lifestyle.
26.How does the author make those old clothes work again?
A.By asking others for advice on dressing.
B.By buying new accessories to match them
C.By changing her own dressing style completely
D.By finding back the original reason she liked them
27.What is the main idea of the text?
A.How to match clothes in a fashionable way.
B.The author's story of reusing unworn clothes.
C.The importance of saving money in daily life
D.Why people should avoid buying more clothes.

When seeing someone being kind or generous,we feel warm inside.Researchers call
this "moral elevation ()"which not only feels good but also inspires us to do good
ourselves.
But how much does witnessing good affect us-and why?A new analysis of decades
of research aims to find out the answers. The results suggest that our acts of kindness and
generosity, online or offline, can have significant chain effects in our communities
Researchers combined results from 88 studies involving over 25,000 participants to
measure how much our own kindness increases after witnessing someone acting
generously -for example, comforting someone crying, donating to charity,or acting
cooperatively in a competitive game.In the studies, people would read about or see
someone act in a kind way and then have the opportunity to be kind and generous
themselves.
The analysis showed a reasonably strong effect, where people witnessing kindness
tended to act kindness themselves. The message that the prosocial(亲社会的)behaviors
are quite infectious is a really important message that people should know,"says the lead
researcher,Haesung Jung.
Interestingly, her analyses showed that it didn't matter how people witnessed a kind
act. They could have read about it,watched a TV show,or actually been present when
someone helped others. It also didn't matter whether or not they saw someone giving
material or non-material help.
But there were factors that did affect how inspired people were to pay it forward. The
more time that had passed since people saw a selfless act,the lower their motivation to
help others. It also mattered what kind of response to the kindness people observed. If
witnesses saw such people praised or even rewarded with money, they would have a
greater likelihood to pay it forward themselves.
The research is of great value for society-particularly now, when we need people to
act in more prosocial ways."In organizations, educational settings, and just everyday life,
it's important to highlight kindness,caring,and good social behavior,"says Jung,"Doing
good has a much larger impact than people realize."
28.What can we learn about "moral elevation"from the first paragraph?
A.It mainly refers to the direct wish to offer help.
B.It is the warm emotion one gets while helping others.
C.It describes the online and offline influences in communities.
D.It stands for positive changes caused by seeing kind behavior.
29.How did the researchers carry out their study?
A.By using results directly from past studies.
B.By following people's behavior over decades.
C.By questioning people about their moral values.
D.By comparing different reactions to receiving help.
30.Which of the following affects people's willingness to pass on kindness?
高二英语试题卷第5页(共10页)
A.The responses to the kind acts.
B.The way they witness a kind act
C.The material help offered by others.
D.The place where they witness a kind act.
31.What is Haesung Jung's attitude towards the research?
A.Doubtful.
B.Positive.
C.Uncaring
D.Critical.

Carbon removal is one of the most important ways to fight against climate change.
Scientists at Salk Institute are working on a special project that takes advantage of plants'
natural ability to take in carbon dioxide from the air, with the objective of making plant
root systems much better at storing carbon for longer periods of time.
To design these climate-friendly plants, the rescarchers are employing a tool called
SLEAP which is an AI-powered software that was originally developed to keep track of
how animals move in the lab.Currently, the scientists are making use of it to study the
multiple features of plant root growth instead.Talmo Pereira,a Salk fellow who created
SLEAP,has joined forces with plant scientist Professor Wolfgang Busch to apply this
technology to their plant research.
In their new study published in Plant Phenomics,Busch and Pereira have established
an approach to use SLEAP for analyzing plant root phenotypes ()which includes
how deep and wide roots grow, how large the root systems become, and other physical
features.Prior to SLEAP,tracking these characteristics was a slow and labor-intensive
scientific process.SLEAP uses computer vision (the ability of computers to understand
images)and deep learning (an AI method that trains computers to work like human brains)
to process images much faster.
Through the application of SLEAP,the researchers have already set up the largest
collection of plant root phenotypes ever recorded. This information not just helps them
identify which genes are linked to specific root characteristics. They can also
determine whether different root features are controlled by the same genes or by separate
ones. This knowledge allows the Salk team to figure out which genes would be most
helpful for their plant designs.
"Our work together really turns out what makes Salk science so special and
influential,"says Pereira."We're not just adopting ideas from different fields-we're truly
combining them as equals to create something greater than what any single field could
produce alone.”
32.What is the main purpose of the Salk Institute's project?
A.To develop AI software to reduce carbon emission.
B.To find specific genes that can control plant growth.
C.To enhance plants'capacity to maintain more carbon.
D.To create new tools that can study animal movement.
33.What can we learn about SLEAP?
A.It was initially designed for animal research.
高二英语试题卷第6页(共10页)
B.It takes place of human researchers in the lab
C.It helps generate plant images more efficiently.
D.It was developed by Professor Wolfgang Busch
34.Why is the collection of plant root phenotypes essential?
A.It provides massive samples on plant root system.
B.It allows scientists to control plant growth entirely.
C.It explains how scientist preserves threatened plants.
D.It helps identify genes suitable for root characteristics.
35.What does Pereira's statement in the last paragraph suggest?
A.AI technology is much more important than biology.
B.Combining different disciplines brings better results.
C.Salk Institute is the best place for scientific research.
D.Different scientific fields should work independently.
第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两
项为多余选项。
Thanks to advances in science and technology, governments have enough time to
warn and evacuate people before a tsunami arrives.
To understand how coastal communities are protected, you first need to know how
tsunamis are formed.36.This movement releases energy, which pushes a wave
through the deep sea.Different from normal ocean waves caused by wind and storms,
tsunami waves move through the whole depth of the water, not just the surface.
The first early warning system for the Pacific Ocean was set up in 1948.Since then,
warning accuracy and speed have improved greatly. One key step was in 1963,when a
worldwide network of seismometers(测震仪)was built..37_,
In 1978,this system was upgraded to a digital broadband global network of
seismometers.38.Scientists could now estimate the earthquake's size, where the
ground split, and how it moved in three dimensions.
39.It uses both physical and statistical models to predict tsunami height.
Satellites can now measure wave height directly from space using radar ()Forecast
methods have also improved-scientists have even started using AI programs to make
predictions faster and more accurate.
However, tsunami height predictions are never precise-the height can be higher or
lower than expected in different places.40.This includes mobile phone alerts ()
cooperation between countries, clear safety advice, evacuation plans and regular tests of
the alarm system. As a tsunami gets near the shore,it slows down to about the speed of a
car,but it is still impossible to outrun it.The best choice is to act quickly and calmly.
A.It could provide more detailed and timely information
B.They are updated over the next few hours as more data are collected
C.This made it easier to find the location and strength of an earthquake
高二英语试题卷第7页(共10页)
D.Today,46 countries share data through the Pacific Ocean warning system
E.Early warning systems also depend on fast communication with the public
F.For this reason, seafloor sensors are crucial for confirming tsunami generation
G.They are caused when the sea floor shifts after an earthquake, landslide,or eruption

We often fail to recognize most of things that truly deserve our gratitude
As I grew up,I wanted to be just like my mom.Kind and caring, she always seemed
to make people feel comfortable as long as she was present. For many years, she had
served as a volunteer in our community.I was fond of going to the local nursing home to
give her a hand when I was a child.However,once I became a teenager,I was too caught
up in my own world to worry about helping others.
One particular summer day when I was twelve,Mom came into my room and told me
to get up and meet her at the car.I had planned to spend the day at the lake with friends.
Why did she have to ruin everything?Ultimately,I made my way outside.I imagined the
lake water cooling my skin.Disappointed and annoyed,I climbed into the car and shut the
door so loudly.I sat in silence, too upset to talk.
"Tina, would you like to know where we are going?"Mom asked calmly and softly.
"I guess..."I replied under my breath.
"Sweetheart,we are going to a children's shelter.I have been there before and I think
it would be of great benefit to you,"she explained with great patience despite sensing my
unhappiness.
At that point I felt a pain slowly formed in my stomach. How was I supposed to help
there?
When we reached the shelter,a sense of surprise came to me.It was a large white
Victorian house. As we approached the front door, wind bells played a calming tune while
trees and flowers welcomed us.Maybe this wasn't going to be so bad.
Mom rang the doorbell. The door flew open and we were led to the front room, where
all of the children were playing.Toys were spread out across the floor.I noticed a baby
whose body was scarred from various wounds. The majority of the children had
noticeable physical scars such as cuts, scratches (and burns. What a terrible life they
must have had before they moved here!My heart sank.
