Are you nature lovers? Have you ever visited China’s Zhangye Geopark The most amazing view in it is the Rainbow Mountains. These are not tall, pointed mountains, but soft, wave-like hills with many different colors. If you see them from above, it’s like you’re looking at rainbows painted on the ground.
Millions of years ago, this area lay under a lake. At first, rivers brought in sand and stones with different kinds of metal elements (元素). Over time, these were left in layers (层) at the bottom of the lake. Some layers were red, some yellow, and others turned purple or blue. Later, as the climate became colder and drier, the lake dried up. Then, something amazing happened! The underground layers began to rise up and push against each other. The layers of sandstone were lifted higher and higher. Wind and rain began to erode the soft rock, slowly breaking it into pieces and carrying small pieces away. Finally, the hills were shaped into the beautiful waves we see today. The dry weather in the area helps protect these shapes, and makes the landscape last for a long time.
June to September is the most wonderful time to visit. ________ The mornings and evenings are cooler than the hot days. Sunshine after a summer rain will make the colors even brighter and more beautiful.

The marathon (马拉松) is a famous long-distance race with a history of over 2,500 years. Its name comes from an ancient Greek story. A soldier ran from Marathon to Athens (雅典) to share news of a victory. Today, marathons are held worldwide, and follow a standard distance (标准距离) of 42.195 kilometers. There are full marathons, half marathons and shorter fun runs (like 5K or 10K). People can choose as they like.
Modern marathons welcome professional runners, beginners, and even wheelchair athletes. For most people, it’s not about winning but about trying their best. Training takes months of running, exercise, and healthy eating. Many runners say sticking to the training plan is harder than the race itself.
In China, marathons are now popular across the country: Big cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Xiamen hold at least 10 exciting races every year. The Beijing Marathon, first held in 1981, now attracts over 30,000 runners every year. The Shanghai Marathon has a beautiful route along the Huangpu River, while the Xiamen Marathon is known for its seaside views. Even small towns are joining in. In 2023, a marathon in a mountain village in Guizhou invited farmers and students to run through terraced fields (梯田), mixing sports with local culture.
These events are held to get people to exercise and help local development. In the Guangzhou Marathon, families run together in “parent-child races”, and older runners over 70 wear bright ribbons (彩带) to show their energy. Finishing the race, no matter the time, makes everyone proud. Let’s start running together!

D“How long have you been in China?”

B“I went there last week.”
F“But there were too many people.”
A“Have you tried Chinese food?”

根据“so brave”可知是“so...that” 结构,表示“如此…… 故选that。
C选项重复了the,A是比较级。
结构:have/has + 过去分词。主语she,对应has been。

China pays great attention to manners, especially when it comes to food. In China, it’s common to ____16____ a friend or a business partner to have dinner together in a restaurant. At table, it’s polite to let the guests ____17____ the menu and choose what they’d like to eat first.
Filial piety (孝顺) also plays an important part in Chinese culture. When eating with elderly people, it’s good manners to ____18____ food to them. If a dish is very ____19____, we should let the elders have more of it.

19. A. cheap B. simple C. common D. delicious

根据“to have dinner together”,可知是邀请某人。固定搭配invite sb. to do sth. make:make sb. do表示“使某人做”,不能搭配“to have dinner”,语义不通;order“命令、点餐”,order sb.表示“命令别人”,不符合待客吃饭的语境;compare:compare A to B表示“把 A 比作 B”,和吃饭场景毫无关联。
think of“想起、考虑”,think of the menu表示“想着菜单”,不符合动作;look after“照顾”,“照顾菜单”不符合逻辑;search for“搜寻、查找(丢失物品)”,不用于翻看菜单。
pass sth. to sb.
根据“let the elders have more”,好吃(delicious)才多给长辈。
根据“between our lips”,指留着牙签在那。leave a toothpick between lips表示“把牙签叼在嘴唇之间”。

B
31. The Rainbow Mountains in Zhangye are ________.
A. tall and soft B. of different shapes C. man-made D. colourful
32. What does the underlined word “erode” in Paragraph 2 mean?
A. paint. B. cover C. wear away D. build
33. What is the right order to show how the Rainbow Mountains were formed?
A. ①→②→③→④ B. ①→④→③→② C. ②→④→①→③ D. ②→①→④→③
34. Which of the following can be put in “ ________” in Paragraph 3?
A. The weather makes it perfect to have fun.
B. Taking photos brings the best results.
C. Many visitors choose to swim in the lake.
D. The colors change to orange when the sun sets.
35. What is the best title for the passage?
A. A Visit to Zhangye Geopark B. An Introduction to the Rainbow Mountains
C. Colorful Mountains in China D. Different Beautiful Mountains in China
D 32. C 33. C 34. A 35. B
根据第一段“soft, wave-like hills with many different colors”,彩虹山色彩丰富。
划线词“erode”出现在第二段“Wind and rain began to erode the soft rock, slowly breaking it into pieces and carrying small pieces away.”一句中,后文“breaking it into pieces and carrying small pieces away”直接说明了该动作的结果——将岩石打碎并带走碎屑。
第三段提到6月至9月早晚天气凉爽,雨后阳光使色彩更鲜艳,因此应填“The weather makes it perfect to have fun.”。
全文围绕彩虹山的形成与特点展开,最佳标题为“An Introduction to the Rainbow Mountains”。

41. My dad bought this computer two years ago.
My dad ________ ________ this computer for two years.
【答案】 ①. has ②. had
“for two years.”
42. We usually say “Ni hao.” to greet people in China.
________ do you usually ________ people in China?
How ②. greet
故填How;greet。
43. I have already done the cleaning.(改为否定句)
I ________ done the cleaning ________.
44. He can’t see clearly if he doesn’t wear glasses.(改为同义句)
He can’t see clearly ________ he ________ glasses.
改为同义句,可用“unless”引导条件状语从句,意为“除非”,相当于“if not”;原句“if he doesn’t wear glasses”可转换为“unless he wears glasses”,主语he为第三人称单数,谓语动词用wears。
45. Tom was watching TV when I came in.
________ Tom ________ TV when you came in?
Was ②. watching
I’m ________ ________ this song because my music teacher plays it in class every week.
【答案】 ①. familiar ②. with
“熟悉”的英文为“be familiar with”,be动词am已给出,故填familiar with。
This book is ________ ________.
Mr Liu ________ the climbers not to take ________.
固定句型warn sb. not to do sth.“警告某人不要做某事”。
My father started his own business when he was ________ his ________.
【答案】 ①. in ②. forties
故填in;forties。
Li Ming has ________ ________ for the calligraphy lessons.
【答案】 ①. signed ②. up
句中有助动词has,时态为现在完成时,结构是have/has + 动词过去分词,sign的过去分词为signed,应填signed;up。
