Some kids don’t like organized sports because they were once on a team and they didn’t have fun. Maybe all of the other kids seemed to know what they were doing and you didn’t feel sure. Or maybe you didn’t like that uneasy (不安的) feeling when you work against other teams.
Sometimes, kids on a team get worried about winning. They may shout or get upset at a player who makes a mistake. This can be more stressful if it’s you who made the mistake.
In fact, everybody makes mistakes sometimes. No one should laugh at you for it. If they do, it’s a good idea to talk with the coach (教练) or your parents. Sometimes, parents should teach kids to be understanding.
Parents and coaches can also get upset about a game and put too much pressure on kids. Kids might feel uneasy and stressed out during the game if they are not quite sure about what they should be doing.
But team sports can also be a great experience. Kids get to have better skills and feel team spirit as they work together for a common goal (目标). If you’ve had a bad experience with a team, maybe it’s time to try a new sport or a new group.
38. What does Paragraph 1 mainly talk about?
A. Some sports are not very fun.
B. Some children don't like organized sports.
C. Kids often feel too much pressure about sports.
D. People don’t know what to do on a team sometimes.
39. What does the writer advise you to do if your team members laugh at you?
A. Don’t mind it. B. Let them not do it again.
C. Tell your coach or parents. D. Tell them you will laugh at them, too.
40. Why do some kids feel stressed during team sports according to the passage?
A. Because they have to train every day.
B. Because they don't get enough playing time.
C. Because they have to wear uncomfortable uniforms.
D. Because coaches and parents put too much pressure on them.
41. What does the writer think kids should do if they’ve had a bad experience with a team?
A. Try a different sport or team. B. Feel sorry for their classmates.
C. Give up joining any team sports. D. Spend more time practicing alone.
42. What can we infer from the passage?
A. Players get worried because of their teams.
B. Kids can improve themselves by team sports.
C. Players like to try something new if they win all the time.
D. Kids usually have a class to learn understanding before games.

【39题详解】

【40题详解】
由第四段第一句“Parents and coaches can also get upset about a game and put too much pressure on kids.”可知家长和教练会因比赛而心烦,并给孩子施加过多压力,这就导致一些孩子在团队运动中感到有压力。
【41题详解】

Xuwen, a small town in the south of Guangdong, is called the “hometown of pineapples (菠萝)” in China. One in three pineapples sold in the country comes from this place. There, farmers produced nearly 700,000 tons of pineapples in 2021. But what makes Xuwen so successful?
In 2019, the Guangdong government introduced a marketing system (市场机制) for pineapples grown in Xuwen and set up a special working group to make it happen. They called it “12221”, including the following five parts: “one” database of agricultural products (农产品数据库); “two” teams, namely buyers and producers; “two” marketing areas, sales area and production area; “two” activities, helping buyers get into the production area and agricultural products into the market; and “one” goal—rural vitalization (乡村振兴).
The project sent the fruit to bigger markets by finding buyers and improving the business sense of growers as well as using big data (大数据) to guide production and sales methods, according to Huang Jiatuan, who’s responsible for agricultural development in Xuwen. “It changed people’s opinions and helped farmers have a better understanding of marketing,” said Liu Yicun, who used to work at the Xuwen government.
Pineapples have also attracted (吸引)people from around the country to visit Xuwen, helping the development of the local tourism industry (旅游产业). “Much like film locations became a calling card for different cities, the local food plays an important part when young tourists choose where to go,” said Feng Rao, the director of Mafengwo. It’s common for young travelers, especially those born in the 1990s and 2000s, to go on journeys so they can taste new flavors.
48. How is Xuwen introduced in Paragraph 1?
A. By listing numbers. B. By asking questions.
C. By presenting examples. D. By interviewing people.
49. Why are Xuwen pineapples so successful?
A. Because it's the hometown of pineapples.
B. Because Chinese people love Xuwen pineapples.
C. Because a marketing system has been introduced in Xuwen.
D. Because Xuwen farmers produce a larger number of pineapples.
50. What’s the purpose of the “12221” project in Xuwen?
A. To develop its rural economy (经济).
B. To change people's way of life there.
C. To build a database of agricultural products.
D. To find buyers and producers for pineapples there.
51. What’s the main idea of the last paragraph?
A. People are coming to Xuwen to eat pineapples.
B. Young travelers have a new experience in Xuwen.
C. Pineapples have helped Xuwen's tourism industry.

52. In which part of a newspaper can we probably read the passage?

Nowadays, the food that you buy comes from many different countries. Have a look in your fridge, cupboard or fruit bowl, and check the origins (来源) of the food. Perhaps there are apples from California, lamb from New Zealand, or potatoes from Egypt. ____53____ This journey from field to plate is called “food miles”—the distance that food travels from its production to the person who buys it. Nowadays, food often travels thousands of miles to get to the consumers. Why does this happen and what are the effects of these long distances?
Traditionally, farmers sold their food in the local market so the food didn’t have to travel very far. The consumers also did not go far away, because they went to their local market to buy the food. This was a good system for farmers and consumers. ____54____ For example, consumers could only buy food that local farmers produced. In addition, they could only get food that was in season. Now, because of modern technology, food comes from all over the world. We do not have to wait for spring or summer to buy strawberries or tomatoes. ____55____
However, some countries have to import most of their food. This is because they have a bad climate. The United Arab Emirates (UAE), for example, gets 90% of its food from other countries. Even food made in the UAE often uses imported materials.
What’s wrong with “food miles”? Is the practice not a good way of increasing international trade? I believe it is for a number of reasons. First of all, because food travels such long distances, we need more planes, lorries, and ships to move the food. ____56____ In addition, food that travels a long way is not fresh and is usually not very tasty. Tomatoes, for example, are picked early and stored for their long journey. For this reason, they are usually tasteless when they get to the consumers. Local food has a better taste, and it also reduces the amount of global pollution. ____57____
A. So we’d better buy more local food.
B. We can’t buy local food at any time.
C. They are available in winter if we want.
D. Eating more fruit is good for our health.
E. However, there were some disadvantages.
F. You will probably be surprised how far food travels to get to your plate.
G. This means we use more oil or petrol, so there is more pollution and global (全球的) warming may worsen.
【答案】53. F 54. E 55. C 56. G 57. A

Yang Zhenning, one of the most influential physicists of the 20th century, passed away on October 18, 2025, in Beijing at the age of 103. Born in Hefei, Anhui Province in 1922, he grew up in a scholarly (有学问的) family and developed a strong interest in science during his early years. He studied at Southwest Associated University, a famous institution that nurtured many talents in difficult times. And later he pursued further education at the University of Chicago in the United States.
In 1957, Yang and his colleague Li Zhengdao made history by winning the Nobel Prize in Physics. They received this honor for their groundbreaking work on the “parity non-conservation” theory in weak nuclear interactions—a discovery that changed how scientists understand the basic laws of the universe. Beyond this, Yang’s “Yang-Mills Gauge Theory” is widely regarded as a cornerstone (基石) of modern physics, standing alongside Einstein’s theory of relativity in its importance.
Though he lived abroad for decades, Yang never forgot his homeland. In 1971, he became the first Chinese scholar to visit New China after a long period of separation, helping to rebuild academic links between China and the US. He also advised the Chinese government on strengthening basic science research and funded nearly 100 Chinese students to study in the US.
