When we think about plants, we often think of trees, flowers, and grass. Most of these plants have green leaves and roots growing into the ground. But do you know some plants are not like most plants?
Some plants look like stones. They are called “stone plants” or “living stones”. They live in very hot, dry places and hold water very well. Their shape helps them to hide so animals do not eat them.
Some plants eat meat. They capture insects and even some other small animals with their leaves. Like many other plants, meat-eating plants get most of the energy from sunlight. But animal snacks can provide them with extra (额外的) food when they grow on poor soils.
Air plants live in trees high above the ground. They can grow on tree branches and take in water from air. Many people like to grow air plants at home because they are easy to take care of. They don’t need the soil and people only need to water them every week.
Some cactus (仙人掌) plants are covered with wool-like hairs. The “wool” protects them from daytime heat and nighttime cold. It also helps them hold water. Cactus plants usually grow in the desert. They can live for over a year without rain.
There are many more kinds of amazing plants in the world. They make our planet a beautiful place.
3. Why are some plants called “stone plants”?
A. Because of their weight. B. Because of their ability. C. Because of their appearance.
4. What does the underlined word “capture” in Paragraph 3 probably mean?
5. What do air plants and cactus plants have in common (在……
A. They don’t need much water. B. They are popular with people. C. They usually grow on poor soils.
6. Where can we probably read the passage?
A. A storybook. B. A travel guide. C. A magazine.
C 4. B 5. A 6. C
第二段指出“Some plants look like stones. They are called stone plants or living stones”,直接说明这些植物因为外形像石头而得名,也就是“appearance”外貌。
第三段指出“Some plants eat meat. They capture insects and even some other small animals with their leaves”,结合上下文,食肉植物用叶子来捕捉昆虫和小动物作为食物,“capture”应译为“捕捉”。
第四段说明空气植物不需要很多水“air plants...take in water from air…people only need to water them every week”;第五段说明仙人掌耐旱“They can live for over a year without rain”。

The Chinese government has started a national plan to help people manage (管理) their weight and live healthier lives. Experts say that obesity (肥胖) is becoming a big health problem. This plan encourages better eating, regular exercise, and weight control.
Why is obesity a problem?
Being overweight is not just appearance. It can cause serious health problems like blood pressure, diabetes (糖尿病), heart disease, and even cancer. If nothing changes, studies show that by 2030, 70.5% of adults (成年人) and 31.8% of children could be overweight or obese. If people do not act now, they may face serious health problems at a younger age.
What is healthy weight?
Doctors use Body Mass Index (BMI) to check if someone’s weight is healthy. For adults, a healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 24. If your BMI is from 24 to 28, you’re overweight. A BMI of 28 or higher means you’re obese. Also, doctors suggest measuring your waist (腰围): men should keep it under 90 cm and women under 85 cm.
To stay healthy, people should eat a balanced diet. They can choose whole grains like brown rice (糙米), fresh vegetables and lean proteins (低脂蛋白质). They should stay away from fried foods, sugary snacks, and fatty meals. Exercise is also important. Experts suggest at least 150 minutes of moderate (适度的) exercise per week, like running, cycling or swimming. Getting enough sleep is also important.
How can society help?
Schools and medical institutions (医疗机构) are also helping. For example, schools in Shanghai make sure students exercise for at least two hours every day. Hospitals in Shanghai have weight control programs. These programs give experts’ advice on diet, exercise and weight loss. By 2030, China hopes to slow down the increase of obesity through education and support.
China’s health plan encourages everyone, especially young people, to build good habits. Staying active and eating well today will lead to a stronger, healthier future.
7. Why does the Chinese government introduce this national plan?
A. To help people look better. B. To help people eat healthily. C. To help people live healthily.
8. What do you know about the man if his waist measurement is 94 cm?
A. He is healthy. B. He is unhealthy. C. He is good-looking.
9. What can we learn from the passage?
A. Obesity can hardly cause health problems.
B. People should have more fatty meals to keep healthy.
C. Social support also helps a lot in weight control.
10. Which of the following is the best title for the passage?
A. The Dangers of Obesity. B. The Plan for a Healthier Future. C. The Importance of Diet and Exercise.
C 8. B 9. C 10. B
根据第一段中的“The Chinese government has started a national plan to help people manage (管理) their weight and live healthier lives.”
根据第三段中的“men should keep it under 90 cm and women under 85 cm.”
根据第五段中的“Schools and medical institutions (医疗机构) are also helping…Hospitals in Shanghai have weight control programs… China hopes to slow down the increase of obesity through education and support.”

Once upon a time, there was a donkey (驴). He often helped his owner carry bags to the ____16____ across a river.
On a hot summer day, the owner put bags of ____17____ on his back.
“What heavy bags!” the donkey thought on his way to the market.
When he got to the river, he felt tired and ____18____. So he wanted to take a break and drink some water. Suddenly, he ____19____ into the water.
“Hee-haw! Help!” he cried, but no one was around to ____20____ him. After struggling (挣扎) for a while, he ____21____ climbed out of the river. He was surprised to find the bags on his back got ____22____!
“This river is magical! My bags won’t be that heavy if I fall in!” he thought excitedly.
A few days later, the owner put more bags on the donkey’s back. This time, however, they were bags of cotton (棉花).
When the donkey came to the river, he ____23____ to use his “magic trick”. He jumped into the water.
A little while later, he tried to get out. But something was wrong. “Oh my! What happened? Why are these bags so heavy now?” the donkey thought as he struggled to ____24____.
The donkey didn’t know one thing: Cotton ____25____ salt; it absorbs (吸收) water and becomes heavy. Not everything works the same way every time!

根据下文“on his way to the market”,应用market“集市”,符合语境。
is afraid of“害怕”、is similar to“与……相似”,和事实不符。
第二节(共10小题;每小题1分,满分10分)
阅读下面短文,在空白处填入1个适当的单词或括号内单词的正确形式。

【34题详解】

第四部分 读写综合(共两节,满分25分)
第一节 阅读下面短文,根据短文内容回答问题。
On a March evening, Lily, a computer worker in Shenzhen, saw a poster for a weekend trip to pick wild vegetables. The idea was easy: leave the busy city and enjoy nature in a fun way.
Early that Saturday, as the sun rose, Lily and her friends set off with small shovels (铲子), baskets, and even books. At Yangtai Mountain Forest Park, she carefully picked safe-to-eat plants. “When I was little, my grandma did this. Now, I find it relaxing and a great way to connect with nature,” she said.
Picking wild vegetables is not new in China, but this spring, more young people are trying it. In the past, mostly older people did it, but now, young adults in easy-to-wear clothes are searching parks with shovels in high spirits. After picking, they sit down, drink coffee, and enjoy the fresh taste of spring.
People now think picking wild vegetables is cool after seeing online shares. On Xiaohongshu, there are over 30,000 posts about the best places to pick wild vegetables in Shenzhen. Some groups even paid to have experts (专家) teach them how to find the right plants.
After camping, hiking, and fishing, young people in Shenzhen have found a new relaxing hobby—wild vegetable picking.

Upon arriving, we did many interesting activities. First, we helped the farmers feed the animals, such as chickens and sheep. They were so cute! After that, we picked some fresh vegetables and learned how to plant trees. Although we were very tired, we felt really happy.

6. Where can we probably read the passage?
