短语be full of的意思是充满,对应列车到处都是熊猫图案的场景;were excited about“对……兴奋”、were good for“对……
固定句式find it + 形容词 + to do,difficult意为困难的,it difficult to breathe指呼吸困难,契合高原缺氧的身体感受;worrying“令人担忧的”、nervous“紧张的”不能用来形容呼吸这件事。

Eating right with Dan
Tony: I don’t eat meat. My friends say my diet is bad because there’s no protein (蛋白质) in it. Is this true?
Dan: Good question! Protein is very important because it helps our body grow and stay strong. Many people think it only comes from meat or fish. But in fact, we can get protein from many other foods, such as eggs, milk, and beans. So don’t worry.
Linda: I love chocolate and ice cream. Is this a problem?
Dan: I love them too! But we should remember sweet foods are often high in sugar and fat.
Sugar is one kind of carbohydrate Although our bodies need carbohydrate from foods like bread and rice for energy, too much sugar isn’t healthy. So enjoy them only sometimes.
Tom: I play sports and always feel hungry. What are good snacks before practice?
Dan: That’s smart to think about! About an hour before sports, choose a small snack for quick energy. Good examples are an apple, a banana, or a small sandwich. Don’t eat heavy, sweet snacks right before you play, as they can make you feel tired. Also, remember to drink enough water.
16. What does Tony worry about?
A. Eating too much sugar. B. Drinking too little water. C. Getting too little protein.
17. What snack should Tom eat before practice according to Dan?

Why do some people look happier than others? The good news is that you may be one of them if you follow these habits of happy people from my book Find Your Happiness.
Set possible goals. Happy people are great goal setters. They work hard for their goals every day. Ask yourself if you are setting possible goals and if you can achieve them by working hard.
Don’t use the word “lucky”. When you look at happy people, you may say, “They are so lucky.” But in fact, the word “lucky” is not in their dictionary. Instead, they believe that hard work and confidence bring great results.
Don’t try to win in an argument (争论) . Happy people are busy making their goals come true. They understand that spending time fighting with others takes them away from what they care about most. They love hearing people talk about their ideas, but they won’t spend time trying to force (强迫) people to accept their ideas.
Live for now. Happy people don’t spend much time thinking about happiness. They just enjoy their life. Happy people have difficulties, too, but they see them as chances to learn more and grow better.
Want to be a really happy person? Follow these habits and try to change yourself into what you wish to be like.
19. How does the writer start the passage?
A. By comparing some facts. B. By asking a question. C. By explaining some habits.
20. Which of the following is NOT true about happy people?
A. They see difficulties as chances to learn and grow.
B. They believe hard work and confidence bring great results.
C. They always try to win in arguments to show their points.
21. What can we know about happy people from the passage?
A. They spend much time thinking about happiness.
B. They never have any difficulty in their lives.
C. They keep on working hard for their goals every day.
22. What is the best title for this passage?
A. How to Be a Happy Person
B. How to Overcome Difficulties in Life
C. How to Learn More and Grow Better
B 20. C 21. C 22. A
根据第一段第一句“Why do some people look happier than others?”
根据“Don’t try to win in an argument”部分中的“…but they won’t spend time trying to force people to accept their ideas.”
根据“Set possible goals”部分中的“They work hard for their goals every day.”
文章在开头提出如何变得快乐并指出“…follow these habits of happy people from my book Find Your Happiness.”,随后具体阐述了快乐之人的四种习惯,并在最后一段总结指出“Want to be a really happy person?
C
The ancient Silk Road was one of the most important trade and cultural routes (通道) in world history, and the pioneer, Zhang Qian, could not be easily forgotten by history. He was a great traveler and explorer in the Han Dynasty of China. He was famous as “the first Chinese to open their eyes to see the world” and “the Columbus (哥伦布) of the East”.
In 138 BC, Zhang Qian went to the west of China for an alliance with the Yuezhi people to fight against the Xiongnu. He started his trip from Chang’an to Longxi. But unluckily, Xiongnu people caught Zhang Qian just as he left Han, and he became a prisoner (囚犯) for ten years.
Zhang finally escaped (逃跑) with some of his men and continued to travel west. When Zhang at last reached the Yuezhi, he found that they didn’t want to fight against the Xiongnu people. On the return journey, Zhang Qian and his men were caught again. It was not until 126BC that they returned to Chang’an.
Though Zhang didn’t finish his task, he brought back first-hand information about Central Asia. The roads Zhang Qian explored later served as the highways connecting Europe, the Middle East, Mesopotamia, Central Asia, and East Asia. People bought and sold things along this network of highways, which have been known as the “Silk Road” since the 19th century.
Zhang Qian is the great explorer that opened up a new era (时代 ) of cultural exchange between East and West.
23. What does the word “alliance” in Paragraph 2 most probably mean?
A. Decision. B. Agreement. C. Exploration.
24. According to the passage, what kind of person is Zhang Qian?
A. Careful and creative. B. Proud and open-minded. C. Brave and strong-minded.
25. Which is the right order of the following events according to the passage?
① Zhang Qian went to the west of China to make an alliance with the Yuezhi.
② Zhang Qian and his men were caught by the Xiongnu again on their way back.
③ Zhang Qian was caught by the Xiongnu and stayed in prison for 10 years.
④ Zhang Qian returned to Chang’an in 126 BC.
⑤ Zhang Qian escaped and kept going west until he met the Yuezhi.
⑥ The roads he opened later were called the Silk Road.
A. ①②③⑤④⑥ B. ①③⑤②④⑥ C. ③②①⑤④⑥
26. What will the writer most probably talk about after Paragraph 4?
A. How the Silk Road made a difference to the cultural exchange.
B. Why people did business along the Silk Road.
C. What Zhang Qian did for the rest of his lifetime.
B 24. C 25. B 26. A
根据第二段第一句“In 138 BC, Zhang Qian went to the west of China for an alliance with the Yuezhi people to fight against the Xiongnu.”
根据第二、三段中关于张骞遭遇的描述“…became a prisoner for ten years.”、“…escaped…and continued to travel west.”以及“…were caught again.”
根据文章中关于张骞行踪的描述“In 138 BC, Zhang Qian went to the west of China…”、“…became a prisoner for ten years.”、“Zhang finally escaped…and continued to travel west.”、“On the return journey, Zhang Qian and his men were caught again.”、“…returned to Chang’an.”以及“The roads Zhang Qian explored later…known as the ‘Silk Road’…”
根据第四段结尾对丝绸之路商业贸易通道的总结“…known as the ‘Silk Road’ since the 19th century.”,以及紧接着的第五段“Zhang Qian is the great explorer that opened up a new era of cultural exchange between East and West.”

Dear friends,
Today, let’s talk about having fun.
It is very important for us because it makes us feel youthful. Also, we can connect with others and make more friends when we play together.
However, too much fun has some bad effects on our daily lives. For example, it can easily eat up our valuable time for study and we may get lost in computer games.
In my opinion, we should choose suitable and healthy ways to relax. Let’s enjoy proper fun and live a balanced life.

Eating right with Dan
Tony: I don’t eat meat. My friends say my diet is bad because there’s no protein (蛋白质) in it. Is this true?
