B Huangmei Opera artist Han Zaifen works to revive a traditional art. As the daughter of a Huangmei Opera performer, she made her first performance at 10 years old in 1978. From that point on, her career has become closely connected with the art’s development. But Huangmei Opera’s path has not been easy. Like many traditional Chinese art forms, it has struggled against the pull of modern fun and digital media. Some productions failed to connect with modern life. Younger audiences lost interest and left. Meanwhile, low pay and limited career chances drove performers elsewhere. In order to revive the art form, Han has been working to strengthen its foundation (基础). Under her leadership, the city of Anqing in Anhui established a range of facilities to support the development of Huangmei Opera. Yet basic facilities alone are not enough. “In 2010, I realized that without generations of newcomers, our mission could not continue,” Han said. Therefore, for nearly seven years after assuming her teaching post, she gave up acting in new shows for herself, focusing mainly on training students. As college head of the Huangmei Opera Arts College at Anqing Normal University, she personalizes training programs based on each student’s strengths — whether voice quality, or acting style — encouraging them to develop unique artistic identities while mastering the classical plays. Breaking with the opera world’s long-standing rules, where lead roles traditionally go to senior performers, Han introduces what she calls an “everyone can be the lead” model. Her dreams go beyond China. On July 3, 2025, Han led her team in a flash performance at Frankfurt’s Römer Square in Germany. She sang excerpts (片段) from familiar operas. People were attracted. “It is not easy to find a lifelong love,” she said. “I was fortunate to find this calling, and I have never left it.” 24. What difficulty did Huangmei Opera face? A. Poor performance. B. Fixed rules of classical plays. C. Limited training chances. D. Competition from digital media. 25. Why did Han stop acting in new shows for seven years? A. To build more theaters. B. To develop young talent. C. To update classical plays. D. To enter the foreign market. 26. What is special about Han’s training model? A. Creating new acting styles. B. Giving seniors the lead roles. C. Focusing on individual gifts. D. Simplifying classical operas. 27. Which of the following can best describe Han Zaifen? A. Determined. B. Generous. C. Humorous. D. Independent. C “Stop overthinking. Start doing.” It’s a belief many of us overthinkers have heard before, and it is usually seen as something we need to fix. But is overthinking always a bad thing? It’s important to recognize that certain habits aren’t always good or bad. They can bring positives if we learn how to work with them in a positive way. Overthinking and creativity often go hand in hand. Letting your mind explore the possibilities, imagine different results, and make unique connections, can lead to unexpected creative ways of thinking. Similarly, deep reflection can lead to an increase in self-awareness, meaning you might be more likely to consider your values, goals, and behavior patterns, all of which can support personal growth. Thinking deeply isn’t always a bad thing, but when you let your mind get out of control, it can be a little stressful. That’s where giving yourself boundaries (界限) can be helpful. If you find yourself getting stuck overthinking, a good starting point can be trying to notice when your thoughts are helping you move forward, or holding you back. Ask yourself: Is this helping me solve a problem, or am I going around in circles? Writing down your thoughts can help get some distance, and review them with a more critical (批判的) eye. Giving yourself a smaller next step, rather than hoping to find the best solution or a clear answer, can also help. Overthinking can offer us the chance to reflect, approach problems from new angles (角度), and find creative ways to deal with challenges. It can help us spot issues, prepare, and grow. Overthinking isn’t always the enemy. Sometimes, it’s a hidden strength — as long as we learn how to guide it, rather than letting it guide us. 28. How does the author introduce the topic? A. By presenting a fact. B. By quoting a saying. C. By giving an example. D. By making a comparison. 29. What benefit does overthinking bring us? A. It reduces stress. B. It breaks bad habits. C. It develops creativity. D. It allows quick reflection. 30. What does the underlined phrase “going around in circles” probably mean? A. Acting quickly. B. Thinking creatively. C. Trying new ways. D. Making no progress. 31. What does the author think of overthinking? A. Beneficial. B. Interesting. C. Shallow. D. Debatable. D Rainforest species in Puerto Rico are facing growing threats. Hurricanes have damaged forests, while climate change and deforestation (砍伐森林) are changing the places where birds, frogs and other animals live. As some protected areas become less suitable for wildlife, scientists are looking for better ways to monitor and protect endangered species. Now, artificial intelligence may offer new hope. Researchers from Rainforest Connection, an environmental nonprofit, and Google.org have found a way to use AI to study rainforest sounds. They believe it can help scientists understand where animals live, how they behave and what kinds of protection they need. The method is based on bioacoustics (生物声学). “Guardians”, recorders created by the researchers, are placed on the top of trees. These recorders pick up forest sounds 24 hours a day and connect to a satellite network and Global System for Mobile Communications network that allows for the broadcast of the sounds in real-time. Other basic recorders are placed beneath the treetops gather “in-between data”. The large amount of data is then sent to Arbimom, which analyzes it to determine insights about the behavior of the species. This technology has already helped wildlife protection workers choose suitable areas to rewild Puerto Rican parrots, an endangered species with fewer than 700 individuals left. It can also help detect (查明) harmful non-native species by recognizing unusual sound patterns in the forest. Bioacoustics itself is not new. In the past, biologists had to go into the forest with large recording equipment and then spend a long time studying short pieces of sound. With AI, however, scientists can now analyze huge numbers of recordings much faster. This makes it possible to use the method in many different forests around the world. By listening carefully to nature with the help of AI, scientists may be able to protect biodiversity in a smarter and more responsible way. 32. What is paragraph 1 mainly about? A. A view on protected areas. B. A description of endangered wildlife. C. The damage caused by hurricanes. D. The challenges facing rainforest species. 33. What’s the function of “guardians”? A. Analysing sound data. B. Recording human impacts. C. Collecting forest sounds. D. Tracking animal movements. 34. What would benefit from this technology? A. Mapping soil makeup. B. Detecting illegal tree cutting. C. Predicting hurricane paths. D. Recognizing climate patterns. 35. What can be the best title for the text? A. Puerto Rican Parrots Return to the Wild B. AI Helps Scientists Listen to Rainforests C. Hurricanes: A Threat to Rainforest Species D. Bioacoustics: A New Science of Animal Care 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 The research by Josh Kaufman, a famous business researcher, shows that you can go from knowing nothing about something to being reasonably good in much less time than you expect. 36 Here’s how to learn a new skill in such a short time according to Kaufman: Make studying a daily habit Twenty hours is only forty minutes a day for a month. You don’t have to spend all your mornings and evenings practising, missing out on good times with family and friends. 37 A reasonable schedule will help you keep going. Break down the skill A skill is usually a collection of smaller skills. Break down the skill into smaller pieces. What deserves your attention now and what can wait until later? 38 The better you identify which parts of a skill truly help you achieve your goals, the faster you’ll improve. Learn enough to self-correct You need to get resources related to what you are learning. 39 All you need is to learn enough to practise and self-correct-paying attention to when you make a mistake, and then doing something a little different. 40 Forty minutes of purposeful, daily practice for a few weeks is enough. Start small, remove the things that take your attention away, and you will see amazing progress sooner than you think. A. Breaking down the skill takes time. B. Doing this will only lead to tiredness. C. Instead, try to study in the early morning. D. It’s about twenty hours of purposeful practice. E. They can be books, courses, or any other forms. F. Focus on what will produce the greatest results first. G. You don’t need hundreds of hours to master a new skill. 第三部分 语言运用(共三节,满分45分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。 It was my first day teaching English at an institution in Kanpur. Some students kept their heads down and some 44 eye contact when I raised a simple question. Even worse, my teaching methods were 45 by the students. In the last class before my leaving, something 48 changed me. I asked a student when his mother’s birthday was. “Sir… she is no longer…,” he said 49 , without looking up. At that moment, something was 50 inside me. Teaching is not only about passing on knowledge but also about being 51 when a young heart weighed down by unvoiced pain. I decided to stay. I’m looking for the Confucius Temple, but I’m not good at maps — they’re my Achilles’ heel! M: Oh, hello, yes. Come with me — I’m going to the temple right now. Text 2 W: Can we go over our science report after school? M: I’d like to, but I have a doctor’s appointment at 4 p.m. How about meeting in the library tomorrow? W: No problem. Text 3 W: The timetable says the first bus leaves at 6:30 a.m. but the electronic screen here says 7:00 a.m. M: The 6:30 bus only runs on weekdays. Today is Saturday. Text 4 M: Your bike is ready now. A new front wheel is 35 yuan, and fixing the seat costs 12 yuan. W: Great. Can I pay by phone? M: Sure. Text 5 W: Excuse me, where can I find cold medicine? M: On the shelf near the door. If your cold gets worse, you’d better see a doctor. Text 6 M: So where are we going next, Wu Yue? W: I’m taking you to Zhaoxing, a pretty Dong minority village. It’s considered one of China’s most beautiful villages. M: Great. I can’t wait. There must be a lot to see. W: There is. First, I’ll take you to see the beautiful drum towers, and then the wind and rain bridges. After that, you’ll see the Dong people perform the Grand Song at the central square. Believe me, you’ll love it. M: Wow. I’m really looking forward to it now. Text 7 M: Miss, congratulations on becoming an adult! You look amazing in your Han Fu. The bright colors are fantastic! W: Really? That’s kind of you to say so. Thank you. M: You’re welcome. Did it take you much time to get ready today? W: Yes, actually. I spent hours doing my hair and make-up, and getting dressed. But it was worth it, because I wanted to look my best at the Coming-of-Age ceremony. M: Oh, you look great! Now that the ceremony is over, are you going to celebrate the day with your family or friends? W: Yes. I’m going to meet my family soon, and we’re having a party tonight. M: So what does “being an adult” mean to you? W: Well, I think it means being self-supporting and responsible for your actions and decisions, and… Text 8 W: Welcome back, Josh. Feeling better? M: Yes, thanks, Emma. Have I missed much? W: Not really. You only got ill after the exams. You won’t believe what happened to me last week. M: What? W: It was raining heavily and I was on my way to school. I didn’t have an umbrella, so I had to run. Then I fell flat on my face in front of everyone. M: What did you do? W: I just wanted to hide. But I laughed it off, got up, and kept going. M: I’d have been so embarrassed. W: I was. But I decided to turn it into something good. I started carrying an umbrella, and I joined a dance class M: A dance class? Why? W: Better balance would help me avoid falling in the future. Text 9 W: Mark, are you ready for Saturday’s school fun run? M: Not yet. I still need to pick up the number cards. W: I got mine this morning. The run is to collect books for children in the village school, right? M: Yes. Each runner is asked to bring one or two storybooks. W: What time should we arrive? M: The run starts at 9 a.m., but volunteers must get there at 8:30 a.m. W: Then I’ll take the 7:50 a.m. bus. Will the running path go past the lake? M: No. The path near the lake is too wet after the rain, so we’ll use the school playground instead. Teachers will also help along the way. W: Good. It’s safer. What will you do after getting the number cards? M: I’ll help put water on the tables and show younger students where to stand. Text 10 Hi, everyone. I’m Darren, a travel blogger from the USA. I’d love to share my story with you. So, how I decided to become a travel blogger? I wanted a job that would give me something to look forward to every day. And I realized I was spending less and less time doing the things I truly enjoyed, like writing and travelling. So becoming a blogger and writing about my travels made sense. Now you might be wondering how I support myself. Some bloggers focus on hiking, which requires proper clothing, and get paid for recommending clothes. I thought about teaching English, but I didn’t have much time. Luckily, I made a deal with a company that was interested in the pictures I took on my travels. During the journey, I have met people who never give up, and it’s shown me the importance of keeping up. Through my blogs, I hope I’ve opened people’s eyes to the beauty of our world. 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
