Do you believe that a man tried to fly to the moon 600 years ago? In ancient China during the Ming Dynasty (朝代), there lived a clever official (官员) named Wan Hu. He was fascinated by the stars and dreamed of touching the sky.
One day, he came up with a brave plan. He built a special chair and tied (绑) 47 rockets to it—the same kind used in fireworks. Then, he sat on the chair, holding two large kites in his hands. He believed the rockets would push him upward and the kites would help him fly. With great courage, he ordered his servants (仆人) to light the rockets. A loud roar (呼啸声) followed, and thick smoke covered the area. When the smoke cleared, Wan Hu and his flying chair were gone.
Did Wan Hu really make it to the moon? We will never know. But his brave try made him a hero in a great story. This story is all about how people love to ask questions and discover new things. And today, it still encourages us to follow our dreams.
