语法易错01 must/mustn’t + 动词原形
【语法点拨】
must 是情态动词,后接动词原形,表示“必须,应该”,语气比 should 更强烈:
We must protect them. 我们必须保护它们。(教材原文)
mustn’t = must not,表示“禁止,不许”,后也接动词原形:
We mustn’t kill wild animals. 我们不得杀害野生动物。
疑问式:Must + 主语 + 动词原形? Must we protect wild animals? 我们必须保护野生动物吗?
【易错提示】
① must 后接动词原形,不加 to,不加 -s:
We must to protect animals. ✗ → We must protect animals. ✓
② mustn’t 后同样接动词原形:
You mustn’t killing animals. ✗ → You mustn’t kill animals. ✓
③ must 没有人称和数的变化,所有人称后都用 must:
He must protects the forest. ✗ → He must protect the forest. ✓
④ mustn’t 与 don’t have to 含义不同:mustn’t 表“禁止”;don’t have to 表“不必”。

语法易错02 can/can’t 表能力和可能性
【语法点拨】
can 是情态动词,后接动词原形,可以表示能力或可能性:
表能力:An elephant can live for about 60 years. 大象大约能活60年。(教材原文)
表可能性:I can learn about wild animals from this book. 我可以从这本书了解野生动物。(教材原文)
表请求:Can you help? 你能帮忙吗?(教材原文)
can’t = cannot,表示“不能,不会”:No one can hurt cranes now. 现在没有人能伤害鹤了。(教材原文)
【易错提示】
① can 后接动词原形,不加 to,不加 -s:
An elephant can lives for 60 years. ✗ → An elephant can live for 60 years. ✓(教材原文)
② can’t 与 mustn’t 的区别:can’t 表“不能”(能力);mustn’t 表“不得”(禁止)。
You can’t kill animals. 你不能杀动物。(能力)
You mustn’t kill animals. 你不得杀动物。(禁止)
③ can 没有人称和数的变化:He can... / They can... / It can... 都用原形。

语法易错03 could/couldn’t 表过去的能力
【语法点拨】
could 是 can 的过去式,后接动词原形,表示过去的能力或可能性:
It was hurt and couldn’t fly. 它受伤了,不能飞。(教材原文)
Feifei ran to call the other villagers so they could run to the safe place. 飞飞跑去叫其他村民,这样他们就能跑到安全的地方。(教材原文)
否定式:couldn’t = could not,表示过去“不能”:The crane couldn’t fly because it was hurt.
疑问式:Could + 主语 + 动词原形?Could the crane fly again? 那只鹤能再飞吗?

语法易错04 一般过去时:不规则动词深化
【语法点拨】
本单元故事中出现了许多不规则动词的过去式,需要逐个记忆:
see → saw 看见;bring → brought 带来;take → took 带走;fly → flew 飞
become → became 成为;wake → woke 醒来;run → ran 跑;save → saved 救(规则)
go → went 去;make → made 制作;begin → began 开始;learn → learnt 学习
课文中的例句:
One winter’s day, Zhang Houyi saw a white crane. 一个冬天,张侯意看到了一只白鹤。
He brought the bird home and looked after it. 他把这只鸝带回家照料。

【易错提示】
① 不规则动词不能简单加 -ed:
flyed ✗ → flew ✓;bringed ✗ → brought ✓
② 注意 bring 和 take 的区别:bring 表示“带来”(向说话人方向移动);take 表示“带走”(远离说话人)。
③ save 是规则动词,过去式为 saved,不要误认为不规则:
Feifei saved them. 飞飞救了他们。(教材原文)
④ learn 的过去式可以是 learnt 或 learned,两种都对,英式常用 learnt。

Jane Goodall is an animal scientist. She was born in England in 1934. She loved animals from an early age. Her dream was to work with animals in the wild.
In 1960, Jane went to Africa. She lived in the wild and made friends with chimps. For over 60 years, she studied chimps. She learnt chimps are clever. And they are in danger. With her help, people began to understand chimps.
Her work is very important to chimps. Her love for animals really makes a difference.
Today, many animals are in danger. Black rhinos live in Africa, but some people kill them and sell their horns. Snow leopards live up in the mountains, but people kill them for their beautiful fur. Kingfishers live near rivers, but lots of rivers are dirty. The fish die and there isn’t any food for the kingfishers.
We must protect wild animals. We mustn’t kill them. We can help by learning about them and telling others. Everyone can make a difference!
