I'll be honest:I'm not a science guy.Physics,for me,was mostly a fog of equations I
tried to survive in school. But while reading Life 3.0 by Max Tegmark,I stumbled upon
Fermat's Principle-and it felt less like physics and more like a life lesson in disguise.
Tegmark explains it with a brilliant analogy.Imagine a lifeguard on a beach spotting a
swimmer in trouble. She doesn't take the straight line. Why?Because she runs faster on sand
than she swims in water. So she runs farther down the beach first-covering more ground where
she's fast-then dives into the water at an angle. That bent,two-part path is the fastest.Light does
the same:bending as it enters water, following the path of least time, not least distance.
This is where it clicked.Tegmark writes that the universe often behaves as if it's
optimizing something-minimizing energy,maximizing efficiency.It felt purposeful.Even
if nature has no "goal,"its behaviour is goal-oriented.
It made me look at my own life. How often do I chase the path that looks shortest, only to
find it's the most draining?I used to promise myself that I would read an hour daily, which
seemed to be the "straight-line"way,but I burned out by day three. The "Fermat"way is
different:start small, reduce friction, bend your path to match the environment where your
progress flows faster. You might run farther on sand before diving in,but you'll reach your
destination sooner.
The same applies to change.Whenever we try to change something,we often force
confrontation:quit cold turkey,overhaul overnight,fix everything at once.But real change,
like light, works better when it bends -when it adapts to the medium it moves through.
Bending differently at work,at home is not weakness but wisdom.
Maybe the key to improving our lives bit by bit isn't about more force or straight-line
speed.Maybe it's about paying attention to the medium we're moving through-our time,
mood, health, energy and adjusting our angle.Because,as nature shows us,the optimal
path is rarely the straight one.
24.What did the author think of physics initially?
A.It required genuine curiosity.
B.It posed academic challenges.
C.It provided intellectual rewards
D.It contained philosophical insights.
25.What does the lifeguard story in paragraph 2 mainly explain?
A.The necessity of training for lifeguards.
B.The methods of calculating running speed.
C.The mechanism of light refraction in water.
D.The difference between jogging and swimming.
26.What sets the "Fermat"way apart from the author's prior way?
A.Allowing minute changes.
B.Highlighting direct methods
C.Demanding strong willpower.
D.Advocating dramatic progress

Someone hiked through a national park and stumbled across a herd of bison(北美野牛).
The wow of that moment, researchers discovered, would cement not just the magical
experience in the mind, but also lots of little, more ordinary events leading up to and away
from it,like a rock spotted on the path. What are the mechanisms for that?
While most of us know that special moments occupy a special spot in our memory banks,
researchers have been divided on concepts known as retroactive and proactive memory
enhancement the prioritization of memories immediately before or after a significant
event.Previous studies have disagreed on whether weaker memories are stabilized through
their association with a more notable one.
Robert M.G.Reinhart,an associate professor of brain sciences, says his latest project,
which included nearly 650 participants across 10 individual studies and employed AI to
analyze a broader dataset,is the first to definitively demonstrate that such memory
enhancement does occur. Many of his team's experiments involved showing participants
dozens of images connected to varying reward levels, followed by a surprise memory test the
next day.
For things that occurred after a big event(proactive memory enhancement),the strength
of recall depended on the emotional impact of the event itself-the more enduring the big
event, the more likely all subsequent information was to be remembered. However, this pattern
did not apply to memories from the period leading up to the event (retroactive memory
enhancement). Those memories were more likely to be consolidated if they shared similarities,
which connected them to the important moment."For the first time,we show clear evidence
that the brain rescues weak memories in a graded fashion, guided by their high-level similarity
to emotional events,"says Reinhart. The researchers also found that if any secondary
memories themselves carried emotional weight, the enhancement effect was reduced."The
brain seems to prioritize fragile memories that would otherwise slip away,"explains Reinhart.
Reinhart notes the discovery has broad implications for both theory and practice:In

education,pairing emotionally engaging material with fragile concepts could improve memory;
in a clinical setting,it could potentially help get back fading memories. On the other hand, the
principle might also be reversed to help those who wish to manage upsetting memories.
28.What does the underlined word"cement"in Paragraph 1 probably mean?
A.Erase.B.Strengthen.
C.Maintain.
D.Fade
29.What had researchers disagreed on before Reinhart 's study?
A.The value of ordinary moments
B.Memory length after key events.
C.The link between strong and weak memories.
D.AI's role in memory experiments.
30.Which conclusion best summarizes the brain's memory prioritization strategy?
A.It selectively rescues weak memories.
B.It strengthens all nearby memories equally
C.It weakens fragile memories for focus
D.It consolidates memories passively
31.What is the passage mainly about?
A.Findings of memory experiments.
B.Ways to improve memory.
C.Mechanisms of memory enhancement.
D.Applications of memory research.

Female moths (don't rely on sight or smell alone. They can also hear stressed plants.
Scientists found that these insects detect ultrasonic (clicks from plants under drought
stress and use them when choosing egg-laying sites.
Plants produce airborne ultrasonic sounds when stressed. These vibrations ()
previously thought to be undetectable by animals, can travel through the air.The Egyptian
cotton leafworm moth,Spodoptera littoralis, hears these sounds. This species has ears sensitive
to the 20 to 60 kHz range, with peak sensitivity around 38 kHz.That is where many plant
clicks fall.
The researchers assumed that female moths might use these plant sounds to decide where
to lay eggs.Their experiments confirmed this. The study involved multiple experiments with
precise setups.In a no-plant environment,moths preferred laying eggs near a speaker playing

recorded plant stress sounds. When these moths were deafened, the preference disappeared.
This proved that the response came from hearing, not other cues ()In contrast, when
healthy plants were added and the same sounds were played near one,the moths chose the
silent plant. This indicated that when real plants were present, moths correctly interpreted the
sounds as warnings.
Scientists find that without a visible plant, sound becomes the only cue.So moths
associate it with plant presence. But when they can see or smell real plants, and one gives off
stress sounds,they avoid it.This shows a context-based decision-making process.
This study reveals that plant sounds can guide insect behavior. The researchers think other
animals might also use these sounds."In this study,we revealed the first evidence for acoustic
(interaction between a plant and an insect. We are convinced that this is just the
beginning,"noted the researchers."Acoustic interaction between plants and animals
doubtlessly has many more forms and a wide range of roles."
32.Why can the Egyptian cotton leafworm moth hear plant clicks?
A.They are especially loud.
B.They are entirely distinct.
C.They travel via special media
D.They match its hearing range.
33.What did the moths choose when real plants were present in the experiment?
A.The speaker playing sounds.
B.Plants giving off no warning signals.
C.Healthy plants producing sounds.
D.Plants needing to be watered.
34.Which word best describes the impact of the research according to the last paragraph?
A.Far-reaching.
B.Controllable.
C.Short-lived.
D.Tolerable
35.What could be the best title for the passage?
A.Plants give off measurable stress sounds
B.Plants make stress sounds for lack of water

I love thinking about teams.I love thinking about how to create an environment that will
make a group of people want to be on the team.I love considering the best ways to build a
great team.
Here is one of my favorite team concepts:the sign of a great team is not the absence of
conflict.Rather, the sign of a great team is the ability to resolve conflict.36 But our
ability to consistently resolve that conflict impacts the kind of team we have more than any
other variable. If we learn how to resolve the conflict, the team will be together for very long.
Now,the "how"is the hardest part of conflict resolution.37
But in my
experience, the key aspect of consistent conflict resolution comes down to listening and
respect. When we listen to each other and respect the opposing perspective ()we can
have reasonable dialogue.38
That we listen to and respect other perspectives does not mean we always have to agree.
39 That's fine. But simple listening skills and demonstrations of respect are at the heart of
consistent and reasonable conflict resolution.
Great teams are not on the same page all the time.
40
So when you are trying
to build a great team or when you think you have one and want to keep it great, spend some
time thinking about how you will handle those difficult moments when the team is not on the
same page.
A.We can still agree to disagree
B.But great teams know how to get there.
C.The best relationships take time and effort.
D.It is always complex and often requires multiple steps.
E.Then we are likely to be on our way to eventual resolution.
F.People on a team often work together towards a common goal.
G.That is because even the best teams unavoidably have conflict.

"We've got this,"my friend Alex laughed loudly as we stepped off the library steps.
"Absolutely,we've got this,"I agreed, performing a little victory dance on the sidewalk once
the library door had closed behind us.We had both been nominated (for the Youth
Excellence Program,an honor and a chance almost every student was crazy about.
That weekend,Alex and I sat in my living room, carefully completing the program
application. We each aimed to show we had all qualities the program valued:academic
excellence,leadership,community service,integrity,and civic responsibility.I detailed my
devotion to challenging courses, while Alex described his volunteer work at the local food
bank.We left no stone unturned, fully confident in our joint success.
The following day,we submitted our applications to the teacher hopefully.
Weeks passed.
Then one day,I received a letter about the project.I rushed out of the classroom and
opened it.I felt a stab of sadness right in my heart:my name was not on the list.
At that very moment,I saw Alex came jogging over, waving his letter with a beaming
smile. It was clear he had news that contrasted with my own.Without hesitation,I turned away
to avoid him.I knew he was eager to share his joy.Perhaps,he even had planned to celebrate
the good news together with me.
But I just couldn't face it:they picked him but refused me.How could fate be so unjust?
Anger and despair just blinded me
That afternoon,on the school bus,I sat alone and avoided eye contact with Alex. When
the bus arrived at my street,I just jumped off, without saying goodbye or smiling to him.I
hurried home,thrusting()the letter into my mom's hands.I buried my face in the cushions,
sobbing uncontrollably as waves of heartache swept over me.

My Views on Fragmented Reading
Nowadays, fragmented reading — scrolling through short videos or browsing brief articles — has become increasingly popular. In my opinion, this trend has both advantages and disadvantages.
On the positive side, fragmented reading saves time and allows us to acquire information quickly. With just a smartphone, we can access diverse knowledge anytime, anywhere. However, the drawbacks are equally obvious. Constant exposure to short, scattered content weakens our ability to focus and think deeply.
Personally, I believe fragmented reading should serve as a supplement, not a substitute, for traditional in-depth reading. While it satisfies our need for quick information, we should also reserve time for reading books that require sustained attention and reflection.
Version 2
My Views on Fragmented Reading
Fragmented reading, characterized by scrolling through short videos and brief articles, dominates our daily lives. From my perspective, though convenient, this reading style does more harm than good.
Admittedly, fragmented reading offers efficiency. We can grasp news highlights or learn practical tips within minutes. Yet the problems cannot be ignored. Firstly, it fragments our attention span, making it increasingly difficult to concentrate on longer texts. Secondly, the information obtained is often shallow and disconnected, failing to build a systematic knowledge structure.
Therefore, my attitude is clear: while we may occasionally benefit from fragmented reading for quick updates, we should prioritize deep reading of complete works. Only by immersing ourselves in books can we truly develop critical thinking and gain profound insights. Let’s not sacrifice depth for speed.
From that day on, I didn’t talk to Alex. Each day at school, I navigated the hallways with a new route, avoiding the places he frequented. The shared excitement that once connected us was replaced by a painful silence. Alex tried to do something to mend it. One day, he even left me a note, trying to comfort me. But I looked at him coldly, “Leave me alone.” I knew I was hurting him, but the sting of rejection was too fresh, and I couldn’t find the words to bridge the gap.
Finally, Mom talked with me, saying Alex wasn’t the one to blame. She reminded me that success and failure were parts of life’s journey. “You should have congratulated your friend on this instead of feeling pitiful for yourself,” she said seriously. It suddenly struck me that how unfairly I treated Alex. Seized by guilt, I followed mom’s advice and left Alex a note, expressing my feelings—not as an apology, but as a step towards healing and rebuilding our bond. It was time to face my fears and embrace the reality that our friendship could weather this storm.
Text 1
W: Tom, your name was mentioned in yesterday’s school news report. Did you win an award at the science fair?
M: Yes, I won second prize. I made a robot that can help my classmates clean the classroom.
Text 2
W: Shall we have the meeting today or on Tuesday?
M: Neither. It was originally scheduled for Monday, but it has been postponed to two days later.
Text 3
W: Do you prefer going to the school library or the city library?
M: I prefer the latter.
W: Why? The school library is close and has got a lot of new books lately.
M: Yes, but it’s too crowded. The city library has more seats.
Text 4
W: Honey, have you seen Molly?
M: She finished her homework and went out to watch a movie with her friends.
W: But didn’t she say she had a bit of a headache when she got up this morning?
Text 5
W: I’d like to discuss our latest plan for the project with you.
M: Sure. Do you have any advice?
W: I don’t think our budget is very reasonable. We could cut down on expenses a bit more.
M: All right, I agree with you. How about the schedule?
Text 6
M: Hey, have you watched the movie Avatar: Fire and Ash yet? I just saw it, and it’s absolutely mind-blowing.
W: No, I am not sure if it’s as good as the previous ones.
M: It’s even better! The visual effects are next level. The story about the family’s struggle is also really touching. The most amazing part is that the movie runs 3 hours and 15 minutes.
W: Oh, that sounds great. Is the plot easy to follow?
M: Totally. It has a clear storyline.
W: Well, I’ll watch it this weekend.
Text 7
M: Sarah, you’ve been a marathon runner for over 15 years. What first got you into the sport?
W: I was inspired by watching the London Marathon as a kid with my family. I joined a local running club the next week, and the feeling of freedom when I run just stuck with me.
M: What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your training?
W: Without doubt, it’s the mental battle during long runs. There are days when your legs burn and your mind screams to stop, but consistency is everything.
M: What keeps you going even when it gets tough?
W: I always have the support of my family and my coach. But beyond that, it’s my love for marathon that keeps me going forever.
Text 8
W: Let’s check the menu. I’m trying to eat healthier, so I think I’ll start with a salad. What do you think?
M: Hmm, salads are great, but the dressings here are loaded with sugar and fat. You might want to skip it.
W: Right, good point. Then maybe I’ll get some fruit juice to drink instead.
M: Most store-bought juices have barely any real fruit and are full of sugar. Water is a safer bet.
W: Okay. For dessert, I was thinking fat-free yogurt.
M: Wait, fat-free yogurt often has extra sugar added to make up for the lost flavor. Too much sugar isn’t any better for you than fat.
W: Wow. So I’ll just do a plain salad, water, and skip dessert. What about you?
M: I was gonna order a double burger, but fine. I’ll copy your healthy order. Let’s go for the same.
Text 9
M: Hey, Jenny, have you finished the paper the professor assigned us yet? I’ve been stuck on the topic selection for days.
W: Not yet. I’m still working on it, actually. I picked “Generative AI in Education” as my theme. Just read some reports about it, and it’s got so many mixed points to analyze.
M: Oh, that’s a really solid topic. I have mentioned both the pros and cons, but I’m not sure how to structure the risk part. Well, there’s self-thinking loss and social-emotional growth issues... so many points to cover.
W: Maybe you can list the risks one by one with specific examples, like how over-reliance on chatbots makes kids stop distinguishing truth from lies.
M: That’s such great advice. Thanks a lot, Kevin.
W: I’m glad I could help.
Text 10
W: Good afternoon, everyone, and welcome back to our school radio program. Today, let’s talk about a heartwarming trend: a new facility popping up in malls across China. The rise of “father and baby rooms.” Unlike traditional mother and baby rooms, these spaces focus on basic care, feeding, and rest. They are designed to encourage fathers to be more involved in taking care of the baby. This small change reflects a big shift in Chinese family values. Fathers are no longer just breadwinners; they are becoming full partners in raising children. One expert said this evolution shows that our society is moving toward a more balanced model of shared parenting. So next time you visit a mall, keep an eye out for these rooms. They’re not just a place to rest; they’re a sign that parenting is becoming a team effort, one that benefits both children and families.

根据文章第一段“I’ll be honest: I’m not a science guy. Physics, for me, was mostly a fog of equations I tried to survive in school.(说实话,我并不是个理科达人。上学时,物理对我来说就是一堆晦涩难懂的公式,我只是勉强应付)”可知,作者最初认为物理充满难懂的公式,是学业上的难题。故选B。
【25题详解】
推理判断题。根据文章第二段“Tegmark explains it with a brilliant analogy. Imagine a lifeguard on a beach spotting a swimmer in trouble. She doesn’t take the straight line. Why? Because she runs faster on sand than she swims in water. So she runs farther down the beach first — covering more ground where she’s fast — then dives into the water at an angle. That bent, two-part path is the fastest. Light does the same: bending as it enters water, following the path of least time, not least distance.(泰格马克用一个绝妙的类比解释了这个原理。
根据文章第四段“The “Fermat” way is different: start small, reduce friction, bend your path to match the environment where your progress flows faster.(而“费马式”的方法截然不同:从小处着手,减少阻碍,调整路线去适配那些能让你进步更快的环境)”可知,“费马式”方法与作者之前的方式不同之处在于从小处着手,允许微小的改变。故选A。
根据文章最后一段“Maybe the key to improving our lives bit by bit isn’t about more force or straight-line speed. Maybe it’s about paying attention to the medium we’re moving through— our time, mood, health, energy— and adjusting our angle. Because, as nature shows us, the optimal path is rarely the straight one.(或许,一步步让生活变好的关键,不在于用更大力气,也不在于追求直线式的速度。而在于关注我们身处的“环境介质”—— 我们的时间、心情、健康与精力,并适时调整自己的角度。因为大自然早已告诉我们:最优的路径,从来都不是直线)”可知,作者认为人生与自我改变应像费马原理一样,适时变通、适配环境、顺势而为,而非强行走直线。故选A。

根据第一段“The wow of that moment, researchers discovered, would cement not just the magical experience in the mind, but also lots of little, more ordinary events leading up to and away from it, like a rock spotted on the path. (研究人员发现,那一瞬间的惊叹不仅会将这段奇妙的经历cement留在脑海中,也会把前后诸多平常小事,比如路上看到的一块石头一并记住。)”可知,这里指把很多小事都记得很清楚,所以应是把这次经历在脑海中加强记忆了,所以猜测cement此处表示“加强、巩固”。故选B。
【29详解】细节理解题。根据第二段“Previous studies have disagreed on whether weaker memories are stabilized through their association with a more notable one.(以往的研究对于较弱的记忆能否借助和重大记忆产生关联而变得牢固这一问题一直存在分歧。)”
根据第四段“For the first time, we show clear evidence that the brain rescues weak memories in a graded fashion, guided by their high-level similarity to emotional events,(我们首次证实,大脑会根据弱记忆与情绪化事件的相似程度,有选择地挽回这些薄弱记忆,)”以及“The brain seems to prioritize fragile memories that would otherwise slip away,(大脑会优先处理那些原本即将消失的脆弱记忆,)”可知,大脑会有选择性地挽救薄弱记忆。故选A。
根据第一段“Someone hiked through a national park and stumbled across a herd of bison (北美野牛). The wow of that moment, researchers discovered, would cement not just the magical experience in the mind, but also lots of little, more ordinary events leading up to and away from it, like a rock spotted on the path. What are the mechanisms for that?(有人在国家公园徒步时,偶遇了一群北美野牛。

根据第二段中“This species has ears sensitive to the 20 to 60 kHz range, with peak sensitivity around 38 kHz. That is where many plant clicks fall. (该物种的耳朵对20至60千赫兹范围内的声音敏感,峰值敏感度约为38千赫兹。而许多植物发出的咔哒声正好落在这个范围内)”可知,这种飞蛾能够听到植物发出的咔哒声是因为这一声音频率与它们的听觉范围相匹配。故选D项。
【33详解】细节理解题。根据第三段中“In contrast, when healthy plants were added and the same sounds were played near one, the moths chose the silent plant. This indicated that when real plants were present, moths correctly interpreted the sounds as warnings. (相反,当加入健康的植物并在其中一株附近播放相同的声音时,飞蛾选择了没有声音的植物。这表明当真实植物存在时,飞蛾正确地将其声音解读为警告信号)”可知,实验显示,当真实植物存在时,飞蛾会选择没有发出警告信号的植物。故选B项。
【34详解】推理判断题。根据最后一段中研究者所说的话“In this study, we revealed the first evidence for acoustic (声学的) interaction between a plant and an insect. We are convinced that this is just the beginning (在这项研究中,我们首次揭示了植物与昆虫之间的声学互动证据。我们确信,这仅仅是一个开端)”和“Acoustic interaction between plants and animals doubtlessly has many more forms and a wide range of roles. (植物与动物之间的声学互动无疑具有更多形式和广泛的作用)”可知,这项研究提供了植物与昆虫之间的声学互动的首份证据,表明这种互动可能具有广泛的意义,因此它具有深远影响。故选A项。
通读全文,尤其是第一段“Female moths (蛾) don’t rely on sight or smell alone. They can also hear stressed plants. Scientists found that these insects detect ultrasonic (超声的) clicks from plants under drought stress and use them when choosing egg-laying sites.

36.上文“Here is one of my favorite team concepts: the sign of a great team is not the absence of conflict. Rather, the sign of a great team is the ability to resolve conflict. (这是我最喜欢的一个团队理念:优秀团队的标志并非是没有冲突,而是具备解决冲突的能力。)”提出了关于优秀团队与冲突关系的核心观点,下文“But our ability to consistently resolve that conflict impacts the kind of team we have more than any other variable. (但相比其他任何因素,我们持续解决冲突的能力对团队的影响都更大。)”强调了解决冲突能力的重要性。G项“这是因为即使是最优秀的团队也不可避免地会产生冲突。”承上启下,“this”指代上文“优秀团队需具备解决冲突能力”的观点,解释了该观点的原因——冲突无法避免,从而自然衔接下文对“解决冲突能力”重要性的论述,逻辑连贯。故选G。
37.上文“Now, the ‘how’ is the hardest part of conflict resolution. (如今,如何解决冲突是冲突处理中最难的部分。)”点明了冲突解决的难点在于具体方法,下文“But in my experience, the key aspect of consistent conflict resolution comes down to listening and respect. (但以我的经验来看,持续解决冲突的核心在于倾听和尊重。)”通过转折给出了冲突解决的关键要素。D项“它往往很复杂,通常需要多个步骤。”承接上文,“it”指代“conflict resolution”,进一步说明冲突解决的难度——复杂且步骤多,为下文转折引出核心解决方法做铺垫,符合语境。故选D。
38.上文“When we listen to each other and respect the opposing perspective (视角), we can have reasonable dialogue. (当我们彼此倾听、尊重对立的视角时,就能进行理性的对话。)”指出了倾听和尊重能带来理性对话的结果,E项“那么我们就有可能朝着最终解决冲突的方向迈进。”承接上文,“then”承接前文“进行理性对话”的前提,说明该前提能推动冲突走向解决,形成逻辑上的递进,贴合段落关于冲突解决的论述。故选E。
39.上文“That we listen to and respect other perspectives does not mean we always have to agree. (倾听并尊重他人的观点,并不意味着我们必须始终达成一致。)”表明了“倾听尊重”与“意见一致”的关系,下文“That's fine. But simple listening skills and demonstrations of respect are at the heart of consistent and reasonable conflict resolution. (这没关系。但简单的倾听技巧和尊重的表现,是持续且理性解决冲突的核心。)”说明意见不一致也不影响冲突解决。A项“我们仍然可以求同存异。”承接上文,对“不必始终达成一致”进行具体阐释,即可以保留不同意见,同时衔接下文“这没关系”的表述,逻辑通顺。故选A。
40.上文“Great teams are not on the same page all the time. (优秀的团队并非始终意见一致。)”指出优秀团队也会存在分歧,下文“So when you are trying to build a great team or when you think you have one and want to keep it great, spend some time thinking about how you will handle those difficult moments when the team is not on the same page. (因此,当你试图打造一支优秀团队,或者你认为自己已经拥有一支优秀团队并想保持其优秀时,花些时间思考如何处理团队意见不一致的艰难时刻。)”强调了处理分歧的重要性。B项“但优秀的团队知道如何达成共识。”承接上文,通过“but”转折,在承认团队会有分歧的基础上,点明优秀团队的核心能力——懂得如何达成共识,为下文提出“处理分歧”的建议做铺垫,符合文章主旨。故选B。

From that day on, I didn’t talk to Alex. I felt betrayed and isolated, as if the world had turned its back on me. I was so wrapped up in my own disappointment that I couldn’t see the bigger picture. The days that followed were filled with a heavy silence between us, a stark contrast to our usual camaraderie. I avoided him in the hallways and during lunch, my pride and hurt too much to bear the thought of facing him.
Finally, Mom talked with me, saying Alex wasn’t the one to blame. She reminded me that success and failure are parts of life, and that it was unfair to let this setback ruin a friendship. Her words resonated with me, and I began to reflect on my actions. I realized that my jealousy and pride had clouded my judgment. It was time to swallow my pride and mend the bridge I had burned. I decided to congratulate Alex and learn from this experience, understanding that our friendship was more valuable than any accolade.

From that day on, I didn’t talk to Alex. The once vibrant bond we shared seemed to have been replaced by an awkward silence that hung heavily between us. I was drowning in a sea of self-pity, unable to see past my own disappointment. Each day, the distance between us grew, and the weight of my pride kept me from reaching out. I told myself it was better to avoid the painful reminder of my failure, but deep down, I knew I was only running away from the truth.
Finally, Mom talked with me, saying Alex wasn’t the one to blame. Her gentle words were like a lifeline, pulling me back from the edge of despair. She explained that life is full of ups and downs, and it's how we respond to them that truly matters. It was a tough pill to swallow, but I knew she was right. I had let my ego get the better of me, and in doing so, I had pushed away a friend who had always been there for me. It was time to face my fears and my feelings, to extend an olive branch to Alex, and to start rebuilding the friendship that had been so carelessly shattered by my own insecurities.

I'm still working on IT. Actually, I picked generative AI in education as my theme. Just read some reports about IT, and it's got so many mixed points to analyze. Oh, that's a really solid topic. I have mentioned both the pros and cons, but i'm not sure how to structure the risk part. Well, there's self thinking loss and social emotional growth issues so many points to cover. Maybe you can list the risks one by one with specific examples, like how over reliance on chatbot makes kids stop distinguishing truth from lies. That's such great advice. Thanks a lot, Kevin.
