Have you ever noticed that some kids love going to big parties or hanging out with a group of friends, while others prefer to stay at home, read a book, or just enjoy their peaceful time? Well, there’s a reason for that! It has to do with your personality.
Psychologists (心理学家) say there are two main kinds of people, E-people and I-people. Let me tell you what they’re like.
E-people love being around other people. They feel energized when they’re with friends, going to parties, or doing fun group activities. For them, happiness is about sharing laughs, stories, and exciting things with others.
I-people like quiet time. They feel more relaxed and happy when they’re alone, doing things like reading, drawing, or just watching movies. They don’t need a lot of people around. They just need themselves and their favorite activities.
But neither way is better! Both E-people and I-people can be happy, as long as they do what they enjoy. It's like finding your favorite taste of ice cream—some people love chocolate, while others love strawberry. Both are great, but it depends on what you like.
The most important thing is to understand yourself and do what makes you happy. Life is about finding what works for you and enjoying every minute.
So, whether you prefer laughing with friends or enjoying quiet moments alone, accept your true self. Be yourself, and your life will be filled with joy!

The meaning of the word “volunteer” may be a little different in different countries, but it usually means someone who offers his or her services. There are many different ways people can volunteer, such as taking care of sick people, helping kids without families, and picking up rubbish from beaches and parks. Volunteers may work in their own countries or other countries. They often strongly wish to help people poorer than themselves and never expect any pay.
At the root of volunteering is the idea that one person can offer services to help other people. My friend Tracy recently came back from India with a new understanding of being a volunteer. She worked for two and a half weeks in one of Mother Teresa’s homes (特蕾莎修女之家) in Calcutta. The following is her story.
“I first heard about Mother Teresa in high school. We watched a video about her work in India and across the world. Her spirit of helping others and endless love for everyone moved me so much that I hoped to do the same work after graduation. So I flew to Calcutta with two friends for a few weeks.”
“I worked in a home for sick people. I washed clothes and sheets (床单), handed out lunch, and fed those too weak to feed themselves to cheer them up. I found sharing time with them meant more than simply giving help. To be honest, I offered little real help. I then realized I came there not to give help, but to learn and experience a new culture. This experience deepened my understanding of life and the world.”

The rise of AI doctors is really happening now. In different parts of China, AI doctors are bringing big changes to the medical field.
In February 2025, Beijing Children’s Hospital brought in the country’s first AI kid doctor. An 8-year-old boy had a sudden and serious illness. Thirteen top experts were trying hard to find the best treatment. At the same time, the AI doctor also made a plan and it was like the human doctors’ thoughts.
In Shandong, a couple felt very worried when their child had a high fever. They decided to try DeepSeek before going to the hospital. After putting in the description of the illness, the AI said it was probably a bacterial infection (细菌感染) and suggested some medicine. When they went to the hospital, the doctor gave exactly the same medicine.
Even in some villages of Jilin, AI doctors help patients tell about their illnesses and make it easier for disabled people to move around in the hospital.
All these examples show us two important things AI doctors can do. They can help top doctors make better choices and they can also make healthcare easier for everyone in the country. However, AI doctors need to make more improvements. As one doctor said, “AI doctors can give us ideas, but we still need the care given by humans.”

根据短文内容,选择最佳答案。
36. Which activity is NOT volunteer work?
A. Looking after sick people. B. Picking up rubbish outdoors.
C. Visiting friends on weekends. D. Helping kids with no families.
37. What can we know about volunteers from the passage?
A. They can get much money from their work.
B. They offer free help to people in need.
C. They have to volunteer in foreign countries.
D. They only work for kids in their free time.
38. What is the right order of Tracy’s experiences?
①Learned about Mother Teresa. ②Got moved by a video. ③Flew to Calcutta. ④Cared for sick people.
A. ③①②④ B. ③②①④ C. ①③②④ D. ①②③④
39. What new idea of volunteering did Tracy get in India?
A. She gave lots of food to the sick. B. She only helped poor children there.
C. She understood life and culture better. D. She made many new local friends there.
40. How does the writer organize the passage?
A. By asking many questions.
B. By introducing Mother Teresa’s work.
C. By comparing different countries’ volunteer work.
D. By explaining the word and telling a story.
【答案】36. C 37. B 38. D 39. C 40. D

第一段明确指出志愿者工作包括:“such as taking care of sick people, helping kids without families, and picking up rubbish from beaches and parks.”,A、B、D均符合,而C“周末拜访朋友”不属于志愿者工作。
【37题详解】
第一段明确指出:“They often strongly wish to help people poorer than themselves and never expect any pay.”,说明志愿者提供免费帮助且不求回报。
【38题详解】
根据第三、四段内容,Tracy的经历顺序为:①在高中了解特蕾莎修女(“I first heard about Mother Teresa in high school.”)→②被视频感动(“We watched a video... moved me so much”)→③飞往加尔各答(“I flew to Calcutta with two friends”)→④照顾病人(“I worked in a home for sick people.”),故顺序为①②③④。
【39题详解】
第四段指出:“I then realized I came there not to give help, but to learn and experience a new culture. This experience deepened my understanding of life and the world.”,说明Tracy在印度获得的新认识是更好地理解了生命和文化。
【40题详解】
文章第一段解释“volunteer”的含义,第二至四段通过Tracy的故事进一步说明,因此组织方式是“通过解释词义和讲述故事”。

根据短文内容,判断下列各句正(T)、误(F)。
41. China’s first AI doctor started to work in Shanghai in 2025.
42. The parents in Shandong went to hospital after trying AI DeepSeek.
43. AI doctors in Jilin help disabled people buy medicine in hospitals.
44. AI doctors can completely take the place of human doctors’ care.

【41题详解】
根据文章第二段第一句“In February 2025, Beijing Children’s Hospital brought in the country’s first AI kid doctor.”可知,地点是在北京,而不是题目中说的上海。故该句表述错误。
【42题详解】
根据文章第三段第二句“They decided to try DeepSeek before going to the hospital.”可知,顺序确实是先尝试AI,然后再去的医院。故该句表述正确。
【43题详解】
根据文章第四段“...make it easier for disabled people to move around in the hospital.”可知,AI医生的作用是帮助残疾人“行动/移动”,而不是帮助他们“买药”(buy medicine)。故该句表述错误。
【44题详解】
根据文章最后一段最后一句“As one doctor said, ‘AI doctors can give us ideas, but we still need the care given by humans.’”以及前一句提到的“need to make more improvements”,说明AI目前还不能“完全取代”(completely take the place of)人类医生。故该句表述错误。
【45题详解】
根据文章最后一段“All these examples show us two important things AI doctors can do... However, AI doctors need to make more improvements.”这与题目表述完全一致,既肯定了其帮助作用,也指出了改进需求。故该句表述正确。
