In recent years, spring and autumn holidays for primary and secondary school students have become a hot topic across China. These short breaks usually come in spring and autumn when the weather is nice for outdoor activities. Hangzhou was the first city in China to have spring and autumn holidays. In 2025, Sichuan started the policy (政策) too. Yibin and Zigong were the first two cities in Sichuan to carry out the policy.
These short holidays bring great benefits to students. First, students can reduce study pressure after a long time of learning. Second, they can step out of classrooms to take part in practical activities, including experiencing farm work, exploring nature and learning about local culture. In this way, they can explore the world and use what they learn in real life. Third, they can also spend more time with their families. Many families choose to travel or visit relatives together, which makes their relationship much stronger.
However, it’s a big challenge for working parents. Many of them have no time to look after their kids during the breaks. To solve it, schools offer childcare services with colourful activities. And local communities also provide some fun programs for students.
All in all, spring and autumn holidays are an important step in education reform (改革). With efforts from families, schools and society, these holidays will help students grow in a healthier and more meaningful way.

F“Thankfully, these children can get help from the charity UNICEF.”,“these children”指代前文提到的困境儿童,并引出了下文的主角UNICEF,符合逻辑。
根据上文“It was set up in 1946 to help children and young people in difficult situations.”可知,此处介绍联合国儿童基金会的成立目的,结合下文“It also helps children receive basic education”,其中的“also”表明空白处应列举 UNICEF 的另一项具体职能。选项E“It provides poor families with clean water and enough food.”
前文提到她家庭贫困且孩子多,且根据后文“She did not go to school...” A“She had to work on the farm all day.”
空白处前文提到 UNICEF 官员来访并强调教育的重要性,且结合后文“Now she goes to school every day.” C“With his help, Alina entered a local school.”
D“UNICEF has helped millions of children like Alina.”
