Middle school textbooks are flying out of classrooms and landing at the Great Pyramid of Giza and Big Ben. This is all part of a “treasure hunt” that has taken social media by storm. Chinese travelers are taking their old textbooks to the landmarks on the covers. From the sands of Egypt to the streets of London, they are putting these books into hidden (隐藏的) corners for the next person to find.
A traveler named Xiao Jiayu recently followed online tips to a hidden spot near the pyramids. She pulled a history book from a small hole in the stone. Although she didn’t know the person who left it, the moment felt really meaningful. In London, another visitor found six books in just one morning near Big Ben. Inside the books, she found handwritten notes like “Keep going” and “Travel thousands of miles to find yourself.”
Many travelers take great care to protect these books. They add waterproof (防水的) covers and leave new pens to make sure the game can continue for a long time. These small acts of kindness show how much they care for the next person.
Travelers say the experience is more than just a simple game. For them, these books act as a bridge between their childhood dreams and their adult reality. Finding a book in the real world brings school lessons to life. The notes inside also bring strangers who speak the same language closer. As one popular comment said, English may be the tool they use to reach these far places, but Chinese is the language that truly connects their hearts.

Some films make you cry. Some make you think. Return to the Wolves does both. The documentary (纪录片) tells the story of a woman and a wolf. More than ten years ago, on the Zoige grassland (若尔盖草原), Chinese wildlife artist Li Weiyi rescued a baby wolf whose parents were killed by poachers (偷猎者). She named him “Green” and brought him back to Chengdu. Li and her friend Yi Feng raised him like their son.
Green soon became part of the family. He learned to catch fish and even got along with the family’s little pet dog. Li cared for him day and night and slowly built a close relationship with him. Sometimes, Green seemed less like a wild animal and more like a playful child. But as he grew up, it became clear that he was never meant to live in a city apartment. He gnawed on electrical cables (咬电线), howled late into the night, and grew more and more restless as his wild nature began to show.
Li’s friends suggested sending Green to a zoo. But after visiting one and seeing wolves walking back and forth in a tiny space, she quickly rejected the idea. A cage, however safe it might seem, is still a cage.
Finally, Li faced a hard truth: Green is a wolf and he had to go back to the wild. So she made the tough and painful decision to set him free—to return him to the grassland.
In the end, Return to the Wolves tells us that true love is not about possession (拥有). Sometimes, it means having the courage to let go.
16. What can we learn about Green in paragraph 1?
A. He lived with Li and her friend.
B. He got the name from his parents.
C. He was born in a zoo in Chengdu.
D. He was a baby lion on the grassland.
17. Why was it difficult to raise Green in a city?
A. Because his wild nature appeared.
B. Because he didn’t like to live in a city.
C. Because he couldn’t get along with the dog.
D. Because he was afraid of the electrical cables.
18. What does the underlined word “rejected” in Paragraph 3 probably mean?
A. Talked about. B. Thought about. C. Disagreed with. D. Fell in love with.
19. What does the writer want to tell us by introducing the film?
A. Humans should protect wolves.
B. Raising wild animals is difficult.
C. Dogs and wolves can be good friends.
D. True love means giving others freedom.
20. In which part of a newspaper can we read this passage?
A. Culture B. Nature C. Travel D. History
【答案】16. A 17. A 18. C 19. D 20. B

【16题详解】

【19题详解】
根据文章最后一段“true love is not about possession. Sometimes, it means having the courage to let go.”(真爱不是占有,有时意味着要有放手的勇气)可知,作者想传达的真爱是给予自由。
【20题详解】
文章围绕纪录片《重返狼群》展开,讲述野生动物狼的救助、饲养与野外放生故事,聚焦野生动物、人与自然相处的主题。因此最可能出现在报纸的“自然”版块。

When ZXMoto crossed the finish line first at the World Superbike Championship (世界超级摩托车锦标赛) this past March, it was historic. It was the first time a Chinese motorcycle brand (品牌) had won at this level. For founder Zhang Xue, over 20 years of hard work finally paid off.
Born in a small mountain village in Hunan in 1987, Zhang started with nothing but a deep love for motorcycles. Since he couldn’t pay for professional training, he became an apprentice (学徒) at a repair shop at sixteen. Working day and night, he saved 8,000 yuan to buy a second-hand motorcycle and practised riding almost every day.
Zhang’s turning point came at 19. He asked a TV crew (摄制组) for a chance to appear on TV, but he was too nervous to perform well. The crew said no for another try. However, Zhang didn’t give up. He rode over 100 kilometers in the rain on his old motorcycle to chase the TV crew. He performed stunts (特技表演) until his motorcycle broke down. Luckily, the crew filmed him and a professional team soon noticed him.
Because he started late, Zhang never became a top rider. However, he found another way to chase his dream. “If the motorcycles I make win a championship, it’s just like I’ve won it myself,” he said.
From a small village repair shop to the world stage, Zhang worked his way up and never gave up on his dream. He didn’t become a champion rider, but he showed that passion (热爱) and hard work pay off — no matter what road you take.
