For individuals with sensory sensitivities, wearing the wrong clothes can destroy the whole day. The uncomfortable fabric, poorly chosen design, or just the wrong fit can lead to discomfort, stress, and even avoidance of activities.
Clothing sensitivity is one of the most common, and most dismissed, parts of being an autistic (孤独症) adult. Olivia Drewery, the 27-year-old based in the United Kingdom, was diagnosed with autism in her early twenties. “Before then I spent most of my life feeling overwhelmed, masking myself constantly, and wondering why everyday things felt so difficult,” Drewery said in a recent TikTok video.
But that diagnosis also came with a whole new way to view the world. “Why were there no brands for people like me — clothing that actually works with our nervous systems and not against them?” Drewery posed. That’s when she had the idea to create a clothing label for people with autism, which can help them focus and calm.
Her solution is the Stim Hoodie (卫衣), a product she just released from her brand Club Neuro. Each hoodie includes a built-in pressure-relief toy in the pocket. It all came after Drewery built a platform on social media, where she shared her “autistic diaries” with thousands of followers. After sharing about her need to be comfortable in her clothes, she connected with Club Neuro co-founders. From there, they spent 10 months perfecting their design.
The hoodie looks like any other, but it has a number of careful features, including removable stress balls built into the cuffs (袖口), attached pressure-relief toys hidden in the front pockets, a weighted fabric, and no tags.
“Because I’ve struggled so much in school settings, in university, in the workplace, in friendships, and social settings, I want to make sure that I’m raising awareness of autism so people can see it themselves or recognize it in others, and so we can get the support we need,” she told the Yorkshire Evening Post. “I feel like I’m doing the right thing in my life.”
24. What troubled people with sensory sensitivities?
A. Heavy social pressure. B. Improper wearing items.
C. Lack of design talent. D. Limited social activities.
25. How did Olivia feel before the diagnosis?
A. Scared and ashamed. B. Upset and guilty.
C. Confused and uneasy. D. Lonely and bored.
26. Why did Olivia decide to design the Stim Hoodie?
A. To meet special group’s needs. B. To win public popularity.
C. To expand her clothing brand. D. To promote a new lifestyle.
27. Which word can best describe Olivia’s project?
A. First-rate. B. Eco-friendly. C. Community-led. D. Human-centered.
【答案】24. B 25. C 26. A 27. D
【解析】

推理判断题。根据第二段“Before then I spent most of my life feeling overwhelmed, masking myself constantly, and wondering why everyday things felt so difficult(在此之前,我一生中的大部分时间都感到不堪重负,不断掩饰自己,疑惑着为什么日常的事情会如此艰难)”可推断,Olivia在确诊之前内心迷茫、焦虑不安。
【26题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段“That’s when she had the idea to create a clothing label for people with autism, which can help them focus and calm.(于是,她萌生了为自闭症人士打造一个服装品牌的想法,帮助他们集中注意力并保持平静)”可知,她设计这款卫衣是为了帮助孤独症患者集中注意力,平静下来,满足特殊群体的需求。
【27题详解】

Several years ago, some doctors in Canada began “prescribing” (开处方) art to their patients, giving them free access to a local museum. The idea was that by wandering among the masterpieces and thinking about the paintings carefully, patients could achieve better physical and mental health outcomes.
A new study from the UK suggests that isn’t such a far-fetched treatment after all. Arts really may affect biological feature of aging. Scientists from University College London (UCL) found that a weekly arts or cultural activity could slow the pace of aging. The philosophy that “art is life” may have some real scientific basis. “This builds on a growing body of evidence about the health impact of the arts, with arts activities being shown to reduce stress and lower inflammation (炎症), just as exercise is known to do,” says senior author Feifei Bu from UCL.
The researchers analyzed the health data of more than 3,500 adults in the UK, including several “epigenetic clocks” — which can provide estimates of biological aging — and how often participants engaged in artistic or cultural activities. These activities could include visiting a museum, attending an art exhibit, crafting, painting, singing, dancing, and much more. Participants in the study who did one of these activities at least once a week showed slower signs of aging than those who had less cultural experiences.
The findings were strongest among middle-aged adults, and the greater the diversity of arts and cultural activities, the better the signs of aging. Compared to those who rarely engaged with art, people who did at least once a week were a year younger on average. That’s nearly double the difference between those who exercised at least once a week and those who didn’t.
Perhaps in the future, doctors in other parts of the world will be prescribing museum visits or arts activities to their patients. After all, some are already prescribing “nature” outings. What’s the difference between taking in the beauty of nature by “forest bathing” and taking in the beauty of human-made art? Perhaps they tap into similar “ingredients” for health and happiness.
28. What does the underlined word “far-fetched” in paragraph 2 probably mean?
A. Effective. B. Promising. C. Fearless. D. Unrealistic.
29. What is the main function of “epigenetic clocks”?
A. Reflect the state of aging. B. Monitor physical condition.
C. Assess the mental health. D. Evaluate cultural activities.
30. What can be inferred about art activities from paragraph 4?
A. They make one a year younger at least. B. They can be richer and more varied.
C. They are equal in effect to exercising. D. They are most loved by the middle-aged.
31. What can be a suitable title for the text?
A. Why Human-made Art Matters More for the Aged.
B. What Is Biological Aging and How Is It Measured?
C. Visiting Museums May Slow Your Biological Aging.
D. Healthy Aging Requires Taking in the Beauty of Nature.
【答案】28. D 29. A 30. B 31. C
根据第三段“The researchers analyzed the health data of more than 3,500 adults in the UK, including several “epigenetic clocks” — which can provide estimates of biological aging — and how often participants engaged in artistic or cultural activities.(研究人员分析了英国3500多名成年人的健康数据,包括多种“表观遗传时钟”(可估算生物年龄)以及参与者参与艺术或文化活动的频率)”可知,表观遗传时钟能提供生物老化的评估,从中能反映出老化的状况。
【30题详解】
推理判断题。根据第四段“The findings were strongest among middle-aged adults, and the greater the diversity of arts and cultural activities, the better the signs of aging.(研究结果在中年成年人中最为显著,艺术和文化活动的多样性越高,衰老被延缓得越明显)”可知,艺术活动可以更丰富、更多样。
【31题详解】
主旨大意题。根据第二段“A new study from the UK suggests that isn’t such a far-fetched treatment after all. Arts really may affect biological feature of aging. Scientists from University College London (UCL) found that a weekly arts or cultural activity could slow the pace of aging.(一项来自英国的新研究表明,这种疗法其实并不像听起来那么遥远。艺术确实可能影响衰老的生物学特征。伦敦大学学院(UCL)的科学家发现,每周参加一次艺术或文化活动,或许可以减缓衰老的速度)”结合文章主要说明了英国最新研究证实,每周参与艺术文化活动能减缓衰老,效果堪比每周锻炼,研究者呼吁将艺术参与视作促进健康的方式。故C选项“参观博物馆可以延缓你的生理衰老”最适合概括文本大意。
D
Students don’t always stick with the major they select during their first semester in college. Sometimes taking courses in varying subject areas can sway (摇摆) their decisions in a different direction. Other factors may also affect career choices, including family influence and the job market. Most recently, however, the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) — which has created great changes in the workforce — is now top of mind for some students as they decide what major to pursue.
Pam Royall, head of enrollment services research at EAB, noted what’s most surprising is not just that students are reconsidering majors, but how much uncertainty is driving those decisions. In the research, about 4 in 10 students say AI will influence the career they pursue. Some are moving toward AI-related fields like data science or engineering, while others are pulling back from areas they think may be easily affected by automation, including certain tech, business or creative roles.
Royall advised students not to try to pick the “safest” major. Instead, focus on building skills that are most likely to remain valuable over time. Students should focus on three things. First, choose a field that genuinely interests you. Long-term success depends more on staying engaged and continuing to build skills. Second, look closely at how colleges prepare students for careers. Students consistently report the most valuable aspects of college are job placement, internships (实习) and real-world experience. Third, learn how to use AI as a tool. In many careers, students won’t be competing with AI. They will be expected to work alongside it. The students who stand out will be those who can use these tools effectively while still thinking critically and communicating clearly.
Now students often describe feeling uncertain about how AI will affect their future. But their behavior isn’t just driven by fear. What we’re seeing is a mix of uncertainty about how quickly the job market is changing; practical concerns about cost and return on investment; and new opportunities as students explore emerging fields.
32. Which is the new factor that affect students’ major choices?
A. Family pressure. B. Labor market.
C. Varying courses. D. AI’s emergence.
33. What causes some students to give up certain majors?
A. Job security concerns caused by AI. B. A sudden switch of interest to automation.
C. Fewer colleges offer these majors. D. They prefer a job where they can create.
34. What is Pam Royall’s advice to college students?
A. Gain more skills to compete with AI. B. Try to make decisions independently.
C. Pursue skills that will always be valuable. D. Consider majors based on job market trends.
35. To stand out in many careers, students are expected to ________.
A. be good at managing B. use AI efficiently and critically
C. be highly dependent on AI D. learn from mixed messages online
【答案】32. D 33. A 34. C 35. B

第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Berman knew she had an unhealthy relationship with shopping. So in January 2024, she began the no-buy challenge. For a set time period, she’d stop spending money on non-essential items — no clothes, no makeup, no home decorations. ____36____ By September 2024, Berman said she had saved tens of thousands of dollars, and said her mental health had improved. Anyone can try the no-buy challenge and here are some tips to help you get started.
Create a “yes” and “no” shopping list.
Write down a list of non-essential items that you’ll stop buying and continue buying. ____37____ “The no-buy rules are going to be different for everyone,” says Berman. She knows she has a weakness for fashion, so her “no” column included clothes, beauty products, jewelry and bathing suits.
____38____
Berman decided to do the no-buy challenge for a whole year. If that feels too restrictive, maybe try it out for a few months — or even a couple of weeks. You can also change the rules of the experiment to make it more fun. Sustainable fashion writer Aja Barber runs an online community where she encourages people to consume more mindfully. She says, “I challenge people not to buy a single new dress this year. ____39____”
Reduce your temptation to shop.
In a world of flash sales and ads that follow you from site to site, the temptation to shop is everywhere. So limit your exposure to shopping deals and “get a grip (控制) on your social media,” says Barber. ____40____ Berman made a point to follow people who were also working on changing their spending habits. “They became almost like a support group,” she says.
A. Set a timeline and the rules.
B. Change your shopping habits.
C. And there have been other payoffs as well.
D. That forces people to be a little bit creative.
E. Follow mindful consumption influencers and groups.
F. Instead, she’d use what she had and buy second hand.
G. It’ll help you discover items you tend to overspend on.
【答案】36. F 37. G 38. A 39. D 40. E

由上文“Write down a list of non-essential items that you’ll stop buying and continue buying.(写下你打算停止购买和继续购买的非必需品清单。)”及下文“ “The no-buy rules are going to be different for everyone,” says Berman.(Berman称:‘零购买规则因人而异。’)”可知,空处要说明制作这份清单带来的作用。G选项“It’ll help you discover items you tend to overspend on.(这能帮你发现自己容易超额消费的物品。)”中“It”与上文“Write down a list”相呼应,点明制作清单的作用,“discover items you tend to overspend on”与下文“The no-buy rules”相呼应,符合语境。
【38题详解】
由下文“Berman decided to do the no-buy challenge for a whole year. If that feels too restrictive, maybe try it out for a few months — or even a couple of weeks. You can also change the rules of the experiment to make it more fun.(Berman决定进行为期一整年的零购买挑战。如果觉得约束性太强,可以尝试几个月甚至几周;你也可以修改挑战规则,让过程更有趣。)”可知,本段围绕设定挑战时长与规则展开。A选项“Set a timeline and the rules.(设定时间期限和规则。)”能概括本段核心内容,符合题意,该选项中“timeline”与下文“for a whole year, a few months, a couple of weeks”相呼应,“rules”与下文“change the rules”相呼应。
【39题详解】
由上文“She says, “I challenge people not to buy a single new dress this year.(她说:‘我向人们发起挑战,今年一件新衣服都不要买。)”可知,此处承接Aja Barber发起这项挑战带来的影响。D选项“That forces people to be a little bit creative.(这会促使人们变得更有创造力。)”能衔接上文发起不购买新裙子的挑战,说明该挑战产生的效果,该选项中“That”与上文“not to buy a single new dress this year”相呼应,符合题意。
【40题详解】
由上文“So limit your exposure to shopping deals and “get a grip (控制) on your social media,” says Barber. (Barber说:要减少接触促销活动,‘管控好自己的社交媒体’。)”及下文“Berman made a point to follow people who were also working on changing their spending habits. “They became almost like a support group,” she says.(Berman特意关注同样在改正消费习惯的人,说道:‘他们几乎形成了互助小组。’)”可知,空处需起到承上启下作用,衔接社交媒体管控与关注理性消费人群。E选项“Follow mindful consumption influencers and groups.(关注理性消费博主和社群。)”能承上启下,衔接顺畅,该选项中“Follow... groups”与上文“get a grip on your social media”相呼应,“mindful consumption”与下文“changing their spending habits”相呼应。

第二节(满分25分)
67. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
My principal came by my classroom that morning while I was still hanging a few last-minute posters on the blackboard, and the minute she walked in to wish me luck, I felt extremely unprepared. Fifteen minutes later, the first class of my teaching career would arrive. Nervous and uneasy, I looked down at my clothes — a plain white top with black pants. As a fashion lover, I felt plain, but I wanted my high school students to take me seriously.
My hands were shaking and my forehead was covered in sweat. It hit me that I was only six or seven years older than them. The students were all excited to see each other after the summer break and seemed very curious about who this new teacher was. I reminded myself that I had been preparing for years. I had a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in education. Since the students all liked my activities, our first class went smoothly.
But several days later, something unexpected happened. We were watching a documentary about travelling to Africa. They watched the part of the video I had planned and answered relevant questions. But after the prepared part was over, we still had fifteen minutes left in class. So I decided to let them keep watching.
All of a sudden, the video showed that one female deer was in the process of giving birth. The scene made all the students freeze for a second, and then the whole class started to whisper and discuss. Then a healthy fawn (幼鹿) was born, right before the students’ wide eyes. Though the video was formal science content for biological education, I felt extremely embarrassed and doubted whether it was appropriate for class. I didn’t know how the students would react to the incredible scene. I thought I would never recover from regret.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
After school, the principal noticed my worry.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The next morning, I walked into the classroom with my heart pounding.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】After school, the principal noticed my worry. She gently pulled me aside and comforted me patiently. She told me that every teacher would meet some unexpected accidents at the beginning of their career, and occasional mistakes were precious lessons for growth instead of embarrassing failures. She added that witnessing the birth of a wild animal was an incredibly rare and special event. Students were just curious and that wasn’t a bad thing actually. Her sincere words swept away my anxiety and self-doubt. Having finally calmed down, I decided to face my students bravely, holding my head high.
The next morning, I walked into the classroom with my heart pounding. To my surprise, all students greeted me warmly as usual. I took a deep breath and asked how they felt about the video. They all shared a view that while animal birth was particularly interesting and, quite frankly, a little odd, it is awe-inspiring in its own way. I stressed that it’s difficult for the new-born animals to survive in the wild and we should minimize disturbance to wildlife. Then I started my new lesson confidently. This experience, which came at a critical turning point in my teaching journey, taught me that the unexpected is part of growth and every setback helps me become a more careful and mature teacher.
