I’m Judy. Like many people in Europe, I grew up with little understanding of health. If I felt anxious or tired, I just kept going. If I had a headache, I took painkillers. I never thought about why symptoms (症状) appeared or how to stop them from happening. It wasn’t until my early thirties, while working in a high-stress advertising job, that everything caught up with me. I was completely tired out.
I experienced an unusual heartbeat at that time. Every few minutes, my heart beat fast and loudly. It made my chest feel shaken. I went to the hospital, and the doctors told me not to do anything except take a good rest. They didn’t talk about emotional tension or ask how I was dealing with stress. That was the moment I decided to try acupuncture (针灸).
I didn’t know much about it, but something about it felt right. Through acupuncture treatments, I felt a sense of peace. My mind cleared, my body felt stronger, and those frightening heartbeats became less and less noticeable. I found a whole new way to understand health and life.
That experience attracted my interest. I began reading everything I could find about acupuncture: not only its real benefits, but its basic ideas. I discovered that Chinese medicine is more of a way of understanding ourselves and the world. It teaches that our health isn’t something to give to someone else to take care of. It’s something to respect and tend to every day, through our food, our emotional lives, our ability to deal with stress, and our relationship with nature and the seasons.
56. How did Judy deal with her health problems at the beginning?
A. Stopping working when tired. B. Keeping a healthy lifestyle.
C. Paying no attention to the real causes. D. Taking painkillers every day.
57. What made Judy become seriously ill in her early thirties?
A. Her high-stress job in advertising.
B. The negative effects of painkillers.
C. The terrible environment in the hospital.
D. A serious heart disease she was born with.
58. Why did Judy decide to try acupuncture?
A. Because her job was too stressful.
B. Because the doctors asked her to do so.
C. Because her heart problem became worse.
D. Because the doctors failed to deal with her problem.
59. What happened to Judy after her first acupuncture?
A. She lost trust in doctors. B. She loved reading acupuncture books.
C. She felt calm and relaxed. D. Her heart problem was completely gone.
60. What does Judy think of Chinese medicine?
A. It only cares about mind.
B. It gives her a new understanding of life.
C. It is better than Western medicine.
D. It asks people to control their food strictly.

Many teachers are learning to use AI. Jerome Ong, a 5th-grade teacher, uses AI tools every week in his classroom. “You have to find what works for your students,” he said. Ong not only teaches his students what AI is, but also where it falls short. “If you keep at it and say, ‘No, you’re wrong, you’re wrong,’ in the end, AI will say, ‘I’m sorry, I was wrong.’ Doing that may show AI isn’t really as smart as you think,” Ong said.
This summer, Microsoft, OpenAI and Anthropic made a first-of-its-kind plan to train hundreds of thousands of members of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). “I think if we’re going to make AI work for students and kids, we need to listen to teachers,” said Microsoft president Brad Smith. The $23 million investment (投资) will be spent on training both online and in-person in New York City (NYC).
“New technologies can never replace the direct connection between teachers and students, but if we learn how to use them and put teachers in the driver’s seat, teaching and learning can be better,” said AFT President Randi Weingarten.
However, some people worry that students might use AI to do something bad. Also, research from Microsoft shows that if people don’t use AI correctly, they might not think for themselves as much. AFT member Lois Weiner believes that instead of working with big tech companies (公司), schools should give teachers more help. “There is so much boredom in the job, but the answer to that is to improve teachers’ working conditions,” said Weiner, adding that AI does not achieve better work conditions for teachers.
Smith said we should return education to teachers: “Those of us in the tech field need to provide the tools and help schools and teachers so they could decide how to put those tools into practice.”
61. What do the underlined words “falls short” in paragraph 1 mean?
A. Is not confident. B. Is not enough. C. Is not perfect. D. Is not useful.
62. What is the main idea of paragraph 2?
A. Tech companies plan to train teachers.
B. Teachers should listen to students more.
C. Three companies aim to bring AI into schools.
D. Microsoft will give $23 million to NYC schools.
63. What can we learn from Lois Weiner’s words?
A. Teachers are smarter than AI.
B. Teachers need more help at school.
C. AI can help teachers with boring work.
D. Working with tech companies benefits teachers.
64. What does Brad Smith think of using AI in education?
A. He agrees with it. B. He disagrees with it.
C. He is not sure about it. D. He doesn’t care about it.
65. What’s the best title of the passage?
A. Microsoft’s AI Plan in Education
B. Make Good Use of AI in Education
C. Arguments on AI’s Role in Teaching
D. New Technologies Replace Teaching and Learning

Mount Tai is in Shandong Province, China, part of Tai’an city. It covers about 426 square kilometers. Its highest point, Jade Emperor Peak, is about 1,545 meters high. People call it the head of the Five Great Mountains in China.
For thousands of years, Mount Tai has been a cultural heart of our country. In the past, it was the first choice for many ancient emperors to hold important rituals (仪式) here, like praying (祈祷) for rain or a rich country. So it got the name “The First Mountain Under Heaven”. There are also many old temples and stone carvings. It’s a key place for Taoism and Buddhism (道教和佛教).
The scenery here is amazing. You can see steep (陡峭的) stone steps, ancient pine trees, strange-looking rocks, and ever-changing clouds and sunrises. The sunrise from the top is the most famous — many travellers become curious about it after seeing its pictures.
Today, lots of tourists and pilgrims (朝圣者) come here. Hiking up the mountain is a popular activity. You can climb the stone steps all the way, or take a tour bus and cable car for part of the trip. Along the way, you can visit temples to make wishes. Many people stay overnight to watch the unforgettable sunrise. It’s also a great place for taking photos and learning about Chinese history.

【原文】It’s really exciting to be here to talk about my writing. I’ve been writing stories since I was about eight years old. My parents always read to me and I learned to read myself when I was four. I started making up stories to read to my friend on the school bus he loved them then I sent one to a competition because my teacher suggested it. I won the second prize and I was so proud. People ask me where I usually write. I used to write in the school library but these days I’VE got to the study. Another question is about where my ideas for stories come from. Some people keep a notebook for interesting things they see or hear about. I started doing that. But my notebook was never with me when I wanted it so I have notes on my phone that’s usually with me. Now are there any questions.

【答案】56. C 57. A 58. D 59. C 60. B

For thousands of years, Mount Tai has been a cultural heart of our country.
