We took some food, water and warm clothes with us. From the top floor, we could see that the streets were full of water. Some cars were floating in the water, and many people were standing on the roofs of their houses, asking for help.
Luckily, the government sent boats to save people. The rescuers worked day and night to help everyone get to safety. They also brought us food and water. After two days, the water slowly went down.
After the flood, our town was in a mess. Many houses were damaged, and some roads were broken. But people worked together to clean up the town. Volunteers came to help, and the government provided us with temporary (临时的) housing and food.
