Have you looked at your new history book recently? If you open it to the page about the Ming Dynasty, you might see a big surprise. There is a picture of the famous Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang. But wait! He looks very different from before. In the past, students saw a strange picture of him. In that old picture, his face was very long, and his chin (下巴) looked like a shoehorn. Many students remembered him because of this funny face.
However, the new textbooks are different. Now, the Emperor, a handsome man, looks very serious and calm. This isn’t a mistake. This is actually the “real” picture of the Emperor from the Palace Museum.
So, why did we have two different pictures? The answer is an interesting story about power. Long ago, people believed that dragons were strong and powerful gods. They thought that a “dragon face” was special. A dragon face has a high forehead and a very long chin (下巴).
The Emperor’s son, Zhu Di, wanted everyone to respect his father’s power. So, the “strange” picture was created. Artists painted the Emperor with a dragon face to make him look strong and powerful. It was a made-up story to help the family rule the country.
But today, historians want to show us the truth. They changed the picture on the textbook to show what Zhu Yuanzhang really looked like. It is great to see the real man behind the stories. Now, when we look at our history books, we can learn the facts, not just the legends (传说).

①Anger often makes us uncomfortable. Seeing your child’s anger can be especially uncomfortable. In order to relieve (缓解) this feeling, parents will often encourage children to “stop crying” and say things like “It’s nothing to cry about.” It’s moments like these that plant the seeds of unhealthy anger. If a child never sees his or her parent express anger, he or she should never express anger, either. But if a parent always expresses their anger loudly, the child may start to think of anger as something that is always frightening. So we should learn how to create healthier anger in our kids.
②The first thing you can do to create healthier anger in your children is to practice creating healthier anger in yourself. Once you’re better at experiencing anger and expressing it in a healthy way, you’ll be able to set a good example for your kids.
③Stopping kids from expressing their feelings is wrong. You may feel bad when you believe you are wrong. When children express their feelings and are told that it’s nothing to cry about, they come to know that they themselves are bad.
④We need to raise them in an environment where it’s safe to express feelings. Once you feel more comfortable with your own anger, you can teach your children why anger is a helpful feeling. When your kid expresses anger, help them examine what it is that has made them angry. Why did it make them angry? How did it do that? Then, you can teach them that those feelings are never wrong and our expressions of our feelings are in our control.
⑤Anger is natural and normal, and it can be experienced and expressed in a healthy way.
48.How does the writer begin the text?
A.By giving a scientific definition (定义) of anger.
B.By listing some research findings about anger.
C.By describing a common situation in family life.
D.By telling a personal story about raising children.
49.What should parents do to set a good example for children according to the text?
A.They should stop their children from expressing their feelings.
B.They should raise their children in a safe environment.
C.They should express their own anger in a healthier way.
D.They should let their children know they are bad or wrong.
50.Which of the following shows the structure of the passage?
A.①/②/③④⑤ B.①/②③/④⑤ C.①②/③④/⑤ D.①/②③④/⑤
51.Which of the following can be the best title for the text?
A.Parents should create healthier anger in themselves.

C.How parents should create healthier anger in their kids.

On the whole island, there were only three small huts, and one of these was empty when I arrived. There were holes in the roof, and the windows were broken, but I had them mended and moved in. No one came to visit me, and I was able to spend my days working, even though I hated what I was doing, and there were days when I could not continue. However, I made good progress, and I knew that soon I would have created a female.
The monster (怪物) had promised that if I made a female for him, he would go and live with her in the jungle and never kill again. But I did not know what the female would be like. It was possible that she would be worse than the monster I had already created. There was also the possibility (可能性) that she would hate him. Then what would happen? I asked myself.
Suddenly, as I sat thinking, I heard a noise outside. I looked out of the window and saw the monster. He had followed me. Looking at him, I knew now I could not. I knew that whatever happened I must not create another monster. I started destroying (毁坏) my work.
Through the window, the monster saw me do this. He pushed open the door. “What are you doing, Victor?” He shouted at me. “Why have you broken your promise? Why are you now destroying all my hopes? You have created me, but I am your master. You will obey me and keep your promise.”
“No,” I answered. “I will not create another monster. Nothing you can say or do will make me change this decision. Now, go.”
He was silent for a moment. Then he said, “I will go now, but I shall be with you on your wedding night.” With these words he left the hut.
I stood at the door of my hut, knowing it was useless to follow him. I had made my decision, and he had made his. “Would that be the end of his anger,” I asked myself, “or would he kill Elizabeth also if I married her?” I passed a sleepless night.
