第二步是要完成有照片的初稿,再结合第二段中的“200 pages plus 60 of your own photos. 和“Your book in 3 simple steps (只需 3 个简单步骤即可完成您的图书)”中的第二个“Finish the manuscript (初稿), complete with photos (完成初稿,附照片)”可知,顾客在这一步要挑出60张照片。故选A。 D。 B I don’t remember when my love of the protected Great Bear Rainforest began — it’s something that’s always been there, even though I haven’t spent longer than a month there in one go. I grew up in a small village by the sea and planned to study marine biology and live out on the water. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, my lack of scientific talent quickly put paid to that idea, but the love of nature remained and has been an anchor (锚) in my life and in my writing. The Great Bear Rainforest is vast, splendid and wild but also friendly, fun and diverse. I travelled there by myself at the age of 20, planning to spend my 21st birthday camping, and hiking in the forests. I woke up on my birthday in a tent on the edge of the water. Behind me, the trees of this largely untouched wilderness emerged. Endless carpets of pointed trees reached right down to a thin rocky shore. It seemed there was no way in. This wilderness held its secrets close. Stepping from the beach into the forest, I immediately sensed the history of the area — it felt ancient, and it was impossible not to be humbled. With a guide for safety, I hiked a few miles through the wilderness. The sounds of the forest were everywhere. Birds sang. Insects buzzed. Something bigger moved through the undergrowth and my guide stopped dead. Listened. My heart was in my mouth. Then, after some invisible signal, my guide relaxed, and we went on. We continued the hike and emerged onto a cliff with the most breath-taking view I’ve ever seen. From terror to wonder in only a few hundred steps. It was that sense of unsettled ground — of shifting emotion, secrets and awe, beauty and fear — that’s fed my writing across four books, none more so than Children of the Sun, and implanted in me a lifelong love of the wild. 4. What does the underlined phrase “put paid to” in paragraph 1 mean? A. Stimulated. B. Ended. C. Supported. D. Proved. 5. What does “it was impossible not to be humbled” convey in paragraph 3? A. I was awed by the powerful nature. B. I became modest after my 21st birthday. C. I was attracted by the history of the area. D. I got curious about the secrets of the forest. 6. Which word can best describe the guide? A. Conservative. B. Considerate. C. Practiced. D. Indecisive. 7. What is the text mainly about? A. The passion for nature. B. The feature of 4 books. C. An unforgettable travel experience. D. A vivid description of mixed emotions. B 5. A 6. C 7. 根据划线词上文“my lack of scientific talent quickly”以及后文“but the love of nature remained and has been an anchor (锚) in my life and in my writing.” 根据第三段“It seemed there was no way in. This wilderness held its secrets close. Stepping from the beach into the forest, I immediately sensed the history of the area — it felt ancient, and it was impossible not to be humbled. 从海滩走进森林,我立刻感受到这个地区的历史——它给人一种古老的感觉,不可能不感到谦卑)”以及最后一段“From terror to wonder in only a few hundred steps. It was that sense of unsettled ground — of shifting emotion, secrets and awe, beauty and fear 故选A。 根据倒数第二段“Something bigger moved through the undergrowth and my guide stopped dead. Listened. My heart was in my mouth. Then, after some invisible signal, my guide relaxed, and we went on. 根据第一段的“ I don’t remember when my love of the protected Great Bear Rainforest began — it’s something that’s always been there, even though I haven’t spent longer than a month there in one go. 和“ Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, my lack of scientific talent quickly  put paid to that idea, but the love of nature remained and has been an anchor (锚 ) in my life and in my writing.(不幸的是,也许是幸运的是,我缺乏科学天赋,很快打消了这个想法,但对自然的热爱仍然存在,并一直是我生活和写作的支柱(锚)。)”以及最后一段的“  It was that sense of unsettled ground — of shifting emotion, secrets and awe, beauty and fear — that’s fed my writing across four books, none more so than  Children of the Sun , and implanted in me a lifelong love of the wild.(正是这种不安的感觉——不断变化的情感、秘密与敬畏、美丽与恐惧——滋养了我的四本书,其中最重要的是《太阳的孩子》,并在我心中植入了对荒野的终身热爱。)” A。 C During the rosy years of elementary school(小学), I enjoyed sharing my dolls and jokes, which allowed me to keep my high social status. I was the queen of the playground. Then came my tweens and teens, and mean girls and cool kids. They rose in the ranks not by being friendly but by smoking cigarettes, breaking rules and playing jokes on others, among whom I soon found myself. Popularity is a well-explored subject in social psychology. Mitch Prinstein, a professor of clinical psychology sorts the popular into two categories: the likable and the status seekers. The likables’ plays-well-with-others qualities strengthen schoolyard friendships, jump-start interpersonal skills and, when tapped early, are employed ever after in life and work. Then there’s the kind of popularity that appears in adolescence: status born of power and even dishonorable behavior. Enviable as the cool kids may have seemed, Dr. Prinstein’s studies show unpleasant consequences. Those who were highest in status in high school, as well as those least liked in elementary school, are “most likely to engage(从事) in dangerous and risky behavior.” In one study, Dr. Prinstein examined the two types of popularity in 235 adolescents, scoring the least liked, the most liked and the highest in status based on student surveys(调查研究). “We found that the least well-liked teens had become more aggressive over time toward their classmates. But so had those who were high in status. It clearly showed that while likability can lead to healthy adjustment, high status has just the opposite effect on us.” Dr. Prinstein has also found that the qualities that made the neighbors want you on a play date—sharing, kindness, openness—carry over to later years and make you better able to relate and connect with others. In analyzing his and other research, Dr. Prinstein came to another conclusion: Not only is likability related to positive life outcomes, but it is also responsible for those outcomes, too. “Being liked creates opportunities for learning and for new kinds of life experiences that help somebody gain an advantage, ” he said. 8. What sort of girl was the author in her early years of elementary school? A. Unkind. B. Lonely. C. Generous. D. Cool. 9. What is the second paragraph mainly about? A. The classification of the popular. B. The characteristics of adolescents. C. The importance of interpersonal skills. D. The causes of dishonorable behavior. 10. What did Dr. Prinstein’s study find about the most liked kids? A. They appeared to be aggressive. B. They tended to be more adaptable. C. They enjoyed the highest status. D. They performed well academically. 11. What is the best title for the text? A. Be Nice—You Won’t Finish Last B. The Higher the Status, the Better C. Be the Best—You Can Make It D. More Self-Control, Less Aggressiveness 【答案】8. C 9. A 10. B 11. During the rosy years of elementary school, I enjoyed sharing my dolls and jokes, which allowed me to keep my high social status. A. Mitch Prinstein, a professor of clinical psychology sorts the popular into two categories: the likable and the status seekers.(临床心理学教授Mitch Prinstein将受欢迎的人分为两类:讨人喜欢的人和追求地位的人。) It clearly showed that while likability can lead to healthy adjustment A。 D Moodiness, constant homework delays, and difficulty in concentrating are common struggles among teenagers. Lately on social media, some people have been blaming these issues on one specific thing: the underdevelopment of their frontal lobes (前额叶). There is actually solid science behind this phenomenon. The human brain is divided into two halves, and each contains four lobes. The frontal lobes are the largest pair, making up a huge part of the brain’s outer layer. Acting like the brain’s “CEO”, the frontal lobes help an individual think strategically and put off impulsive (冲动的) actions. As a person grows, this vital region gradually develops connections with other brain areas. Such a complex network ensures that our daily experiences and emotions are carefully processed through that judgment center. Interestingly, brain development takes much longer than we usually assume. Although the brain reaches about 95 percent of its adult size between ages 16 and 20, the frontal lobes do not fully mature until around age 25. The long maturation journey involves a process called “pruning”, in which rarely used nerve cells simply die off based on the “use it or lose it” principle. For some individuals, such a shaping process might even continue well into their 30s. Because of this slow development, the brain’s emotion center isn’t fully connected to the frontal lobes during adolescence. This delay is particularly obvious in teenagers. Normally, logical thinking and emotions must work together to make wise decisions. However, a teen may understand an issue intellectually, their emotional response often happens separately from their logic. This disconnect frequently leads to impulsive decisions, as the two brain centers are not yet in a perfect “dialogue”. Despite being the final brain areas to fully develop, the frontal lobes are the earliest to decline, a process that typically starts in the mid-40s. Therefore, it is highly recommended that we take active steps to keep our brain’s “CEO” healthy. We can achieve this by constantly staying curious, focusing on what is truly important, and learning to ignore less relevant activities and information in our daily lives. 12. What is the main responsibility of frontal lobes? A. To determine the brain size. B. To speed up physical growth. C. To produce complex emotions. D. To manage thinking and impulses. 13. What is the feature of brain growth in youth? A. Brain size peaks in adolescence. B. Frontal lobes mature relatively slowly. C. Brain development stops before age 20. D. Active nerve cells gradually die off. 14. Why do teenagers tend to make impulsive choices? A. Their frontal lobes decline too early. B. They ignore the brain’s growth rules. C. Their logic and emotion fail to connect. D. They are misled by social media. 15. How can people maintain brain health? A. Ensure enough sleep. B. Start brain training early. C. Control negative emotions. D. Overlook less important details. D 13. B 14. C 15. 根据第二段中“Acting like the brain’s “CEO”, the frontal lobes help an individual think strategically and put off impulsive (冲动的) actions. 根据第三段中“Although the brain reaches about 95 percent of its adult size between ages 16 and 20, the frontal lobes do not fully mature until around age 25. 根据第四段中“However, a teen may understand an issue intellectually, their emotional response often happens separately from their logic. This disconnect frequently leads to impulsive decisions, as the two brain centers are not yet in a perfect “dialogue”. 根据最后一段中“We can achieve this by constantly staying curious, focusing on what is truly important, and learning to ignore less relevant activities and information in our daily lives. While technology addicts teens to their devices, they are not helpless against the draw of it. Here are five ways educators can support their students’ digital well-being. Explore design tricks companies use. The technology we use daily is designed to catch and hold our attention. Companies know what keeps our eyes on the screen. To help, teachers can unpack design tricks and explain how companies employ features like auto-play to get users to stay on their apps. ____16____ Talk about how technology can increase feelings of anxiety. The decline in youth mental health is associated with an increase in social media use. ____17____ We can help our students by allowing them to consider the benefits of technology and then to think about changing the habits that aren’t serving their well-being. ____18____ Social media can bring the feeling: “All my friends have better lives than me.” Plus, design features like “read receipts” can lead to teens knowing their messages have been seen and stressing about why friends haven’t yet replied. These are classic examples of thinking traps. Identifying them can help teens get rid of some negative thoughts. Uncover the ways that AI can play a role in misinformation. AI is rapidly transforming the world. Recommendation algorithms (算法), which determine what we do and do not see on our feeds and in our search results, can have very real consequences. ____19____ By understanding how these technologies work, students can start to enjoy more benefits of technology. Encourage families to have meaningful conversations with their child. Take the time to share with families the topics and resources you’re teaching in class. ____20____ Knowing we’re all in the same boat is crucial. A. Social media is ruining our life. B. Connect them with their inner world. C. Build their awareness of thinking traps. D. This by no means indicates all technology is bad. E. They can pull us toward increasingly extreme views. F. It turns out adults and kids all pursue digital well-being. G. Knowing these can motivate students to get back their attention. 16. G 17. D 18. C 19. E 20. The soft piano melody or grand symphony always calms my nerves after a stressful school week. My best friend Tom is totally different, he’s a big rock music fan, with loud electric guitars and heavy drums following him everywhere. We’d never argued about music tastes before, but last Friday evening, things got heated. We sat on the neighborhood park lawn, passing headphones back and forth. After Tom listened to my favorite Chopin nocturne (肖邦夜曲), he shrugged: “It’s okay, but way too slow, where’s the energy?” I frowned, snatching the headphones back. “Energy? Your rock music is just noise! Singers shout like they’re in pain, and instruments hurt my ears,” I said sharply. Tom’s eyes widened, leaning forward with a raised voice: “You don’t get it! Rock is passion, saying how you feel freely! You’re stuck in an old-fashioned circle, scared to try new things!” Angry, my cheeks burned. “Old-fashioned? Classical music has real artistry, not just screaming and hitting!” I stood up, kicking a pebble hard. Tom jumped up too, fists clenched: “How dare you disrespect what I love? You’re my best friend, I thought you’d understand!” Before I could reply, he turned and stormed off, backpack swinging. I yelled after him: “Fine! Don’t talk to me if you’re unreasonable!” But as he disappeared around the corner, a twinge of regret flickered, I quickly pushed it away, still angry. For three days, we didn’t speak. We passed in the school hallway without a glance, and group chats went silent. I missed our jokes and after-school walks, but was too stubborn to apologize. Deep down, I knew I’d gone too far. I realized my mistake. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ With a nervous heart, I pressed the doorbell of Tom’s house. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】范文 I realized my mistake. As I sat alone listening to Chopin that evening, his nocturne’s gentle flow reminded me of our friendship’s harmony. My harsh words echoed in my mind — calling rock “noise” was unfair. Music, like friendship, shouldn’t be judged by its volume but by the feelings it carries. Tom’s passion for rock mirrored my love for classics; neither deserved disrespect. Swallowing my pride, I grabbed my phone and typed, “Can we talk tomorrow? I owe you an apology.” With a nervous heart, I pressed the doorbell of Tom’s house. The door swung open, revealing Tom’s hesitant face. Before I could speak, he blurted, “I’m sorry too! I shouldn’t have stormed off.” Relief washed over me. “No, I was wrong to insult your music,” I admitted. He grinned, pulling out his headphones. “Wanna try my favorite rock song? I’ll explain why it moves me.” As the energetic chords filled my ears, I finally heard the passion he cherished — and understood that true friendship harmonizes different rhythms. 词汇激活 行为类 ①珍惜:cherish/value ②打动:move/touch ③拿起:grab/pick up 情绪类 ①热情:passion/ardour ②刺耳的:harsh/grinding 【点睛】[高分句型1] As I sat alone listening to Chopin that evening, his nocturne’s gentle flow reminded me of our friendship’s harmony.(运用了as引导时间状语从句) [高分句型2] I’ll explain why it moves me.(运用了why引导宾语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 新蔡一高2025—2026学年下学期7月月考 高二英语试题 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 听下面5段录音。 1.What did Jack do? B I don’t remember when my love of the protected Great Bear Rainforest began — it’s something that’s always been there, even though I haven’t spent longer than a month there in one go. C During the rosy years of elementary school(小学), I enjoyed sharing my dolls and jokes, which allowed me to keep my high social status. More Self-Control, Less Aggressiveness D Moodiness, constant homework delays, and difficulty in concentrating are common struggles among teenagers. While technology addicts teens to their devices, they are not helpless against the draw of it. Here are five ways educators can support their students’ digital well-being. Explore design tricks companies use. The technology we use daily is designed to catch and hold our attention. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
