Did you hear the news? When Shenzhou-20 was ready to come home, a tiny piece of space junk (太空垃圾) hit it! Luckily, the astronauts came back safely, but it made people think about a big problem—space junk.
Do you know what is space junk? Space junk is all the rubbish that humans have left in space. This includes old satellites (卫星), used rocket (火箭) parts, and even tiny pieces from crashes (碰撞). For example, in 2009, two satellites hit each other far above Earth. That resulted in thousands of space junk pieces! Astronauts also lose small things in space sometimes. When we started exploring space, we started making space junk.
Space junk is a growing problem. It flies around Earth very, very fast—about 20, 000 km per hour! As a result, even a small piece can damage a spacecraft (航天器). There are over 36, 000 big pieces and millions of smaller ones moving around our planet. More junk means a higher chance of crashes, creating even more junk.
It is important for all of us to know the danger of space junk and work together to keep space safe. Scientists are thinking of ways to clean it up. After all, space is valuable for everyone on Earth. By working together, we can solve this problem and continue our exciting space journey.
21. What happened before Shenzhou-20 returned home?
A. It crashed into a satellite. B. A piece of space junk hit it.
C. The weather conditions were terrible. D. It received a message from outer space.

C. How to clean up space junk. D. Why space junk is dangerous

A. He described how great the space looks.
B. He used numbers and explaining the risk.
C. He gave opinions from famous astronauts.
D. He compared space junk to rubbish on Earth.
24. The underlined word “damage” in Paragraph 3 is the closest in meaning to “___________”
A. protect B. follow C. harm D. find
25. What is the writer’s purpose of writing this text?
A. To tell readers a piece of sad news.
B. To show a new way to clean space junk.
C. To describe the history of space exploration.
D. To warn people about the danger of space junk.

①Getting along with people from different countries is more than just sharing a room and meals. It is an opportunity to learn about new cultures, share stories, and make memories. People from different countries think and act in different ways. This can be interesting, but it can also be confusing sometimes.
②Some cultures, like German and Dutch, talk very directly. People from these cultures do not soften their words to be polite. For example, if you want to make a polite suggestion, you might say, “I like your work, but maybe you could try it this way.” To a person from a direct culture, this sounds more like an idea, not a suggestion. So, when you speak to people from Germany, it is important to be clear and direct.
③Other cultures, like South Korean and Thai, try to avoid arguments (争吵). They want to “save face”, which means they do not want to upset anyone. For example, if a person from these countries doesn’t want to join an outing, they might say, “ ▲ ” when they actually mean, “I don’t want to go.”
④Something in daily life can also cause misunderstandings. For example, in the US, it is common to ask friends for rides (搭乘). However, people from some countries may find this strange, especially if they are used to public transport.
⑤Getting along with people from different countries is like a journey. Cultural misunderstandings can happen at times, but they are also chances to learn and grow. With patience and an open mind, everyone can make friends and enjoy valuable experiences.
26. What does the underlined word “This” in Paragraph 1 refer to?
A. Living in another country. B. Learning about new cultures.
C. Sharing meals with foreigners. D. Thinking and acting in different ways.
27. According to Paragraph 2, what is a good way to talk to people from Germany?
A. Using soft words. B. Speaking directly.
C. Avoiding arguments. D. Giving creative ideas.
28. Which sentence can be the best for “ ▲ ” in Paragraph 3?
A. I do not want to go. B. I want to go with you.
C. I’m not sure if I have time. D. I will never go out with you.
29. How does the writer explain cultural differences in the text?
A. By offering some advice. B. By giving different examples.
C. By describing personal experiences. D. By asking and answering questions.
30. Which is the right structure of the passage? (①=Paragraph 1 ②=Paragraph 2, …)
A. B. C. D.

Not long ago, a heat-warming story went viral (走红) on social media. Many people saw it and shared their positive thoughts about it.
A woman lost her new phone while travelling in Suzhou during a holiday. She was very worried and looked everywhere for it. Luckily, four college students found her phone and returned it to her in no time.
After getting her phone back and returning to the hotel, the woman was surprised to find a sweet and funny “lost-and-found” video on her phone. The college students recorded it before giving the phone back.
The woman shared the video and talked about this loving experience online. Many people watched her video and praised the four young people as “adorable (可爱的) college students”!
According to reports, three of the students are from Dalian University of Technology, and one is from Harbin Normal University. When asked why they made the video, the students smiled and said, “We thought the owner might be worried and upset after losing her phone. We hoped that our video would cheer her up a little.”
Unexpectedly, this humorous act of kindness turned out to be a big surprise for the owner and also for the students. "We did not expect to get so much attention. We just did what we were supposed to do, "the students said.
