Just as the saying goes, “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.” Not only life, but so are the blind boxes (盲盒) from the Henan Museum.
The museum catches visitors’ eyes with many kinds of archaeological (考古的) blind boxes. These blind boxes are drawing visitors’ attention because visitors can find replicas of cultural relics (文物复制品) by themselves.
If you want an archaeological blind box, you just need to spend about 60 yuan on it. Then you can dig and find your own treasure. The mystery boxes come in different sizes and shapes. Some are small and some are big. The museum’s first blind boxes sold out very soon because many people were interested in them. And many visitors asked the museum to produce (制造) more.
However, the museum in Henan is not the only museum to sell archaeological blind boxes in China. And the blind boxes from the Sanxingdui Museum in Sichuan are popular with people too. The Shaanxi History Museum in Xi’an made its own blind box models. Shanghai Museum is planning to do so.
