Maths Week was coming. Mrs Lee, the maths teacher, told her class, “Next week is Maths Week. I’d like each of you to do a project. You can show it at the exhibition. You may work alone or in a group.”
After school, Manu stayed in the classroom. His classmate Kevin was not as good at maths as Manu. Kevin asked, “Shall we work together on the project?” However, Manu refused. “Sorry, but I prefer to do it on my own,” he said.
The next day, everyone handed in their topics. Most students chose to work in groups, but Manu decided to work alone. Kevin’s team planned to make a Snakes and Ladders game. Junaid’s team chose a crossword puzzle. Manu decided to create a magic game. He did everything by himself.
Manu finished his project and felt pleased. The night before the exhibition, he checked it again. To his surprise, all the lights that should shine did not light up at all. Manu was very worried. He did not know how to fix (修理) it and almost cried. In the end, he had no choice but to take it to school.
That same evening, Kevin’s team was still working on their project. They sat around a big table. One member had a small problem. Without saying a word, the other two quickly offered help. They solved it together and smiled. It was a good example of teamwork.
Finally, the day of the Maths Week exhibition arrived. All the teams proudly placed their projects on the table—except Manu. While students enjoyed playing Snakes and Ladders, Manu felt embarrassed to show his broken magic game.
Mrs Lee looked at him and said, “There is still time. Maybe you can ask someone for help.” Kevin offered to help Manu. Luckily, he fixed the game just before the show. Manu’s eyes shone with excitement. He said to himself, “It’s certainly great to have a teammate.”

The sun shines on the fishing-PV project in Zhulu Village, Anhui Province. Blue solar panels (太阳能光伏板) line up on the water. In the water, naturally raised fish swim happily. It shows that the model of “producing electricity above and raising fish below” is successful in both environmental protection and local development.
The story began with a solar power plan. Working with a power company, the village used about 890 mu (a Chinese unit of area of land) to build a solar project. When the project started to produce electricity, it brought the village 800,000 yuan at once.
But the village wanted to make better use of the land. Village leaders thought the water under the panels should not be wasted. After learning from other successful projects and testing the water, they began to raise fish.
They chose several kinds of fish and let them grow naturally without man-made food. The solar panels blocked strong sunlight. They kept the water temperature suitable (适宜) for small plants to grow. These plants became food for the fish.
Later, the project became bigger. The village increased the area to more than 1,000 mu. Catching fish brought the village more money. Every year, the solar panels make lots of clean electricity and help protect the environment. At the same time, fish waste helps plants grow, achieving a healthy cycle (循环).
In the future, Zhulu Village plans to make the fish area even larger. This project is a great example of green development.
34. How does the writer begin paragraph 1?
A. By comparing two ways to raise fish in the water.
B. By describing a picture of the fishing-PV project.
C. By giving a number about the village’s money.
D. By telling a story of a farmer in Zhulu Village.
35. Why did the village raise fish under the solar panels?
A. To make full use of the water and the land.
B. To keep the solar panels cooler in summer.
C. To bring more visitors to enjoy the project.
D. To test whether the water was clean enough.
36. Which of the following is the correct order according to the text?
① The project covered an area of over 1,000 mu.
② The village started a solar power project.
③ The project brought the village 800,000 yuan.
④ The village raised fish to make better use of the land.
A. ①→④→③→② B. ①→③→②→④ C. ②→③→④→① D. ②→③→①→④
37. What’s the writer’s possible attitude (态度) towards the fishing-PV project?
A. Unknown. B. Worried. C. Supportive. D. Negative.
38. What is the main purpose of the passage?
A. To explain how to build solar panels on water correctly.
B. To introduce the fishing-PV project in Zhulu Village.
C. To compare fishing and solar power in Anhui Province.
D. To describe the daily life of fish living under the panels.

From the late night of September 7th to the early morning of September 8th, 2025, an amazing total lunar eclipse took place. During this time, the Moon turns completely red for about 83 minutes. People call it the “Blood Moon”. But what made the Moon turn red like that? Is it magic?
Actually, it’s not magic. It’s a “light show” carefully directed by our own planet. During a total lunar eclipse, the Sun, the Earth, and the Moon are in a straight line, with the Earth in the middle. When the Moon moves fully into the dark area created by the Earth, it’s hidden because it can’t get any direct light from the Sun.
But here’s the fascinating part: the Earth is covered by the atmosphere (大气层). When sunlight passes through the atmosphere, something magical happens. The atmosphere scatters (散射) blue and purple light more strongly. At the same time, red and orange light can pass through the atmosphere more easily. Some of the red and orange light goes through the atmosphere and then changes its direction and shines onto the Moon’s surface. That’s why the Moon appears red during a total lunar eclipse.
So, there’s no need to be intimidated by the “Blood Moon”; it’s a beautiful and natural event to be enjoyed bravely. Interestingly, the red color isn’t always the same. If there’s more dust (灰尘) in the Earth’s atmosphere, the Moon appears darker red because more light is scattered. If the atmosphere is clearer, the Moon appears brighter, with a more orange-red color.
If you see a “Blood Moon” next time, don’t worry. You can proudly tell others what’s happening.
39. Which of the following pictures can best show a total lunar eclipse?
A. B.
C. D.
40. Why does the Moon turn red during a total lunar eclipse?
A. Because the Moon is covered with dust.
B. Because the Moon’s surface is naturally red.
C. Because sunlight changes color when passing through the Moon.
D. Because the Moon only receives the Sun’s orange and red light.
41. Which of the following can take the place of “intimidated by” in the text?
A. pleased with B. scared of C. interested in D. excited about
42. What can we know if the Moon looks darker red during a total lunar eclipse?
A. The atmosphere is thinner than usual.
B. The Moon is farther from the Earth.
C. There is more dust in the atmosphere.
D. Less light is scattered by the atmosphere.
43. Which part of a magazine can you read this passage?
A. Science & Nature B. World News C. Health & Fitness D. Art & Culture
39. A 40. D 41. B 42. C 43. A
根据第二段“During a total lunar eclipse, the Sun, the Earth, and the Moon are in a straight line, with the Earth in the middle. When the Moon moves fully into the dark area created by the Earth, it’s hidden because it can’t get any direct light from the Sun.”
根据第三段“The atmosphere scatters blue and purple light more strongly. At the same time, red and orange light can pass through the atmosphere more easily. Some of the red and orange light goes through the atmosphere and then changes its direction and shines onto the Moon’s surface.”
根据第四段“So, there’s no need to be intimidated by the ‘Blood Moon’; it’s a beautiful and natural event to be enjoyed bravely.”以及后文“don’t worry”可知,intimidated by意为“害怕”,同义短语为scared of。
根据第四段 “If there’s more dust in the Earth’s atmosphere, the Moon appears darker red because more light is scattered.”

When you were a teenager, did you ever feel that your parents just didn’t understand you? You are not alone. This is what we call “growing pains”. But recently, scientists have found that this period of conflict (冲突) might actually be good for you.
A study from the University of Virginia followed 184 teenagers for over ten years. They recorded the arguments between the teenagers and their parents. ____44____ Teenagers who argued properly with their parents, such as discussing disagreements calmly, were more likely to have successful friendships later in life. ____45____
However, the study also found that teenagers who had no arguments with their parents were often “people pleasers”. ____46____ On the other hand, if teenagers often shouted at their parents, they ended up with bad relationships.
Joseph Allen, the lead researcher, said, “____47____ If they can learn to express their needs clearly without being aggressive (攻击性的), they will be better at dealing with problems in other relationships.”
So, if you sometimes argue with your parents about your grades, your friends, or your career choices, don’t worry too much. It might just be that you are learning important life skills. ____48____ That’s how growing pains turn into gains.
A. The result was surprising.
B. They might have difficulty saying “no” to peer pressure later.
C. Arguments with parents teach teenagers how to manage conflicts.
D. But remember, the key is to communicate calmly and respect each other.
E. They usually followed their own style instead of caring too much about others.
F. The main reason is that they could learn how to stand up for themselves in the right way.

根据时间状语从句“while I was stepping onto the stage”可知,主句也应表示当时正在进行的动作,需用过去进行时。主语My hands为复数,所以填were shaking。
主语“Many people”为复数,所以填have become。
promise to do sth.

Franklin’s Fight for Home
Houses can be very different. Some are big and have swimming pools. Pop stars live in those houses. Some houses are small and stand in a row. There is a brick wall at one end, and they face a pie factory. Franklin Gates lived in one of these houses. His address was No. 3, Stanley Street.
Franklin loved living on Stanley Street. The people there were kind, and all his friends lived nearby. The smell from the pie factory was also great—it made him feel hungry every day! But there was one problem. Franklin’s parents wanted to move. His mother was going to have twins, and they needed more space.
“I can share my room,” Franklin said. But his parents didn’t agree. “The house is too small,” his mum said.
The next day, a “FOR SALE” sign appeared outside Franklin’s house.
Franklin looked at the sign with his best friend Josh. “What should I do, Josh?” he asked.
Josh said, “Does your house have problems? No. 40 has problems, and no one wants to buy it.”
Franklin looked at No. 40. It looked fine. “What kind of problems?” he asked.
“There are mice,” Josh said. “And the wallpaper is really ugly.”
Franklin sighed (叹气). His house was clean, warm, and had just been painted. That made it harder to stop someone from buying it.
Mrs Cox lived next door to Franklin. Her house used to be a small corner shop. She came outside and said, “I’m sorry you’re leaving.”
“So am I,” Franklin replied.
“Don’t worry,” said Mrs Cox. “Maybe no one will buy your house for a long time.”
For one week, it looked like Mrs Cox was right. ________. Franklin’s mum looked worried: Franklin danced around his room with his colourful shorts on his head. Maybe no one would buy the house and I could stay, he thought.
But one afternoon a few days later — it must have been Thursday, because the pie factory smelled like chicken — Franklin came home from school. A man was talking to his mum in the kitchen. Franklin’s heart sank (下沉).

To Live by a Twittering Bird
“Coo-COO-coo! Coo-COO-coo!”
For students in the graduating class, spring remains a busy and stressful time as they prepare for the zhongkao and gaokao. But outside the window, it is also the busiest season of the year for birds. While you follow your teacher and read the passages in your textbook, your feathered friends are singing, dancing and chasing one another, hoping to find a mate (配偶).
Bird songs have moved great writers for hundreds of years. Many famous poets wrote beautiful poems about bird calls, from ancient Chinese poet Wang Wei to British poet Wordsworth. Still, not all people enjoy noisy birds.
One high school student in Shenzhen recently complained about the birds on campus (校园). The birds’ loud calls—“Ko-EL!”— had seriously disturbed (干扰) his studies, so he asked the headmaster (校长) to drive them away.
I can understand how upset (恼火的) the student felt. Living close to several parks, I often see different kinds of birds in my neighborhood. These birds are all excellent singers. In springtime, their loud mating songs often wake me up as early as 4 a.m.! But should we try to remove these birds from our lives just because their sounds trouble us now and then?
The headmaster of the Shenzhen high school said no. While we call our schools—and our cities—our homes, they aren’t only ours. Countless (无数的) birds, insects and other creatures (生物) live here, too. As our neighbors, they should have the same right (权利) to follow their natural instincts (天性). We shouldn’t always try to shape our world to meet our needs. Instead, as the headmaster put it, we should learn to “live with it.”
In fact, a little “disturbance” can even be helpful. Much like you, I learned English by listening to CDs recorded in quiet studios (录音棚). Then, the first time I spoke with a native (母语的) speaker in real life—in a restaurant with music playing, people chatting and all kinds of background noise—I could hardly focus on his words. My guest laughed and said, “You can’t always learn with these perfect recordings!”
As I wrote this article, a male (雄性的) spotted dove was singing sweetly to a female beside him. When I turned to look at them, they quickly flew away. Were they just too shy to find their love story on this front page?
64. According to the passage, what season is the busiest for birds to find a mate?
____________________________________________________________________
65. Why did the high school student in Shenzhen want to drive birds away?
____________________________________________________________________
66. Summarize the main idea of the passage. (Within 30 words)
____________________________________________________________________
67. If you were the headmaster of the Shenzhen school, what would you say to the student who wanted to drive the birds away? (At least 20 words)
____________________________________________________________________
64. Spring.
65. Because the birds’ loud calls disturbed his studies badly.
66. We should learn to live with birds and their small disturbances instead of trying to drive them away, because we share the same home with other living creatures.
67. I understand you feel upset, but birds live here too. We can learn to live with their noise instead of driving them away./Let’s think of other ways to reduce the noise, because we shouldn’t hurt these lovely natural messengers who share our campus.
第二段指出“For students in the graduating class, spring remains a busy and stressful time... But outside the window, it is also the busiest season of the year for birds... hoping to find a mate.”,文章第二段明确提到春天是鸟类忙着寻找配偶的最忙碌季节,可得出答案。
第四段指出“The birds’ loud calls—‘Ko-EL!’—had seriously disturbed his studies, so he asked the headmaster to drive them away.”,该深圳学生认为鸟类的鸣叫严重干扰了自己的学习,因此想要赶走鸟类。
第六段指出“We shouldn’t always try to shape our world to meet our needs. Instead, as the headmaster put it, we should learn to ‘live with it.’,我们不应该总是试图改变我们的世界来满足我们的需求。相反,正如校长所说,我们应该学会“与之共存”。可推知文章的主旨是我们应该学会与鸟类等自然生物和谐共处,而不是驱赶它们。
【67题详解】
开放性问题,言之有理即可。第六段指出“While we call our schools—and our cities—our homes, they aren’t only ours. Countless birds, insects and other creatures live here, too. As our neighbors, they should have the same right (权利) to follow their natural instincts.”,虽然我们把学校和城市称为我们的家,但它们不仅仅属于我们。 I understand you feel upset, but birds live here too. We can learn to live with their noise instead of driving them away./Let’s think of other ways to reduce the noise, because we shouldn’t hurt these lovely natural messengers who share our campus.

An Unforgettable Study Tour
In May, our school held a four-day study tour with the theme “Explore Nature, Following the Wind, Protect Living Things”. All students took part in it.
On Day 1, we studied wild plants in the wild. The next day, we visited a wind power plant and learned how wind turbines produce clean energy. On Day 3, we went to an animal shelter to feed and look after stray animals. On the last day, we handed out leaflets to call on people to protect nature.
This tour made a deep impression on me. I realized we must live in peace with nature and take small actions to protect the environment.

65. Why did the high school student in Shenzhen want to drive birds away?
