(2026·河北邯郸模拟)Growing up, I was one of those energetic kids who never sat still.I was always doing cartwheels, flips, and generally bouncing off the walls whenever I got the chance. At the age of 4, I started in gymnastics and used that as an outlet for my endless energy for several years.I participated in gymnastics until the age of 10, when I had a conversation with my parents that changed the direction of my life forever.
When talking about my early gymnastics career, I failed to mention that I was born with fibular hemimelia (腓侧半肢畸形)—meaning I didn't have fibulas, ankles, heels, and most of the other bones in my feet.At 18 months old, both of my lower legs were cut off, so I could be fitted with prosthetic (假体的) legs and learn to walk.
Then, as a 10yearold, my parents sat me down to tell me that at some point I would have to wear prosthetics during gymnastics because I would damage my knees from all of the force I was subjecting them to.I tried gymnastics with my prosthetics and it just didn't feel right.
At that point, I knew my future wasn't in gymnastics. But I always felt like I was a mermaid (美人鱼) or a fish when I got into the water, so after moving on from the beam (平衡木) to the pool, I started doing competitive swimming.
Through years of hard training, however, I went from the little girl who wasn't comfortable doing gymnastics with my prosthetics to a 17time Paralympic medalist with my eyes squarely set on the next Paralympic Games.
I'm often asked by media or people I come across what advice I have for kids with disabilities or kids that might be going through issues in school. My answer is that it's important to always be confident, find something you're really passionate about—whether it's reading, music, cooking, or sports, and really go for it.

(2026·黑龙江哈尔滨模拟)A new global review of data from the Spanish study found that increasing the number of daily steps, even if at modest levels, was associated with a reduction in depressive symptom (症状).
Researchers led by JimenezLopez, of the University of CastileLa Mancha, noted there's already solid evidence that exercise of any kind is a natural antidepressant. But what about something as easy as walking?
To find out, they looked at data from highquality studies on daily step counts and their links to mental health.
In total, the new review covered 33 studies involving a total of more than 96,000 adults worldwide.Studies included people who used fitnesstracker devices to calculate their daily steps.Compared to a baseline of 5,000 steps taken per day, folks who took even 1,000 more steps daily saw a 9% drop in their odds (概率) for developing depression, the researchers found. Those benefits quickly mounted up.Compared to folks walking 5,000 steps per day or less, those who walked 7,000 steps per day had a 31% lower odds for depression, the study found.“In addition, counts above 7,500 steps per day were associated with a 43% lower frequency of depression,” JimenezLopez and colleagues wrote, and those trends held true for “all age groups, females and males.” There did seem to be a leveling out of mental health benefits at about 10,000 steps per day, the data showed.
As has been observed in studies on physical health, “up to a level of about 10,000 steps per day, the odds for depression decline. However, increasing the number of steps beyond this point may not be associated with a significant reduction in depressive symptoms,” the researchers wrote.
The new findings add walking to many other forms of physical activity—weight training, yoga and even tai chi—as ways to help prevent depression, the researchers said.
“Setting goals for the number of daily steps can be a promising and inclusive public health strategy for the prevention of depression,” the study authors concluded.
