My dad loves the Silk Road very much and he told me many things about it. Last summer, my family went on holiday and went to some places on the road. We started at Lanzhou and went on to Wuwei. Wuwei was a very important city on the Silk Road. It connected (连接) three main cities in the area. In ancient times, it was also important. “Am I an ‘I’ person or an ‘E’ person?” It is popular among young people around China today. Many people are interested in it so that they take a personality test (测验) named MBTI test to find out the answer.
Many people find the MBTI useful. It groups people into 16 types (类型), which start with the letter “I” or “E”, such as ENTJ or INFP. “E” is short for “Extroversion” while “I” is for “Introversion”. “I’m an ‘E’ person. I should go to the party and make more friends.” “I’m an ‘I’ person, I’d like to work by myself. I could be a writer in the future.” They believe different types can help them make decisions for activities, jobs or even life choices more quickly.
But there are also problems. Some people take the test for a second time and get different results. Some people find it hard to answer some questions. “I like watching TV by myself. But I also enjoy playing with friends. Am I an ‘I’ person or an ‘E’ person?”
When you take a personality test, you may think, “Oh, that’s me.” That’s because the descriptions (描述) are generic. They can describe many people. Studies found that over 50% people get a different result when they took the MBTI test again just five weeks later. “Personalities can change with time, and they are not “black-or-white”, scientists say. You may be an “I” person now but become an “E” person when you get older. Or, you can be both an “I” person and an “E” person. Don’t label (贴标签) yourself! Studies also show that the test is not real at telling people’s success in different jobs. So, don’t take it too seriously.
8. What is MBTI according to the text?
A. It’s a test about interests. B. It’s a test for the personality type. C. It’s a test about young people in China.
9. If you are an “E” person, what may you like to do?
A. To cook meals at home at weekends.
B. To read books in the library on vacation.
C. To have fun at different festivals with different people.
10. What does the underlined word “generic” in Paragraph 4 mean?
A. Common. B. Special. C. Different.
11. Why does the writer write the text?
A. To help people understand MBTI right.
B. To explain why MBTI is becoming welcome.
C. To encourage more people to try the MBTI test.

Think about who loves and supports you most. For many, parents might come to mind. Our parents play a big role in our lives without doubt. Many parents start making changes to their own lives even before their children are born. They might change their jobs, save money, or buy clothes and toys for their coming children. After a child is born, parents might sacrifice (牺牲) both time and hobbies. Instead, they go to their children’s soccer games or piano performances. Over half of the parents said that sacrificing for children is not only about duty, but also about passing on love, letting warmth and light go with their growth.
Parents might even put themselves in poor situations to help their children get the best education. Wu Qian, a mother from Guangdong, China, sent her son to one of the best schools in her city when he was 7. Since Wu Qian was working at the school, her son could get a tuition discount (学费折扣) and she could also spend more time with her son.
根据“can't jump like me”可知大象太重跳不动,heavy“重的”符合特征。

Many parents start making changes to their own lives even before their children are born. They might change their jobs, save money, or buy clothes and toys for their coming children. After a child is born, parents might sacrifice (牺牲) both time and hobbies. Instead, they go to their children’s soccer games or piano performances. Over half of the parents said that sacrificing for children is not only about duty, but also about passing on love, letting warmth and light go with their growth.
