ders,Manu felt embarrassed to show his broken magic game.

fish swim happily. It shows that the model of "produ-
cing electricity above and raising fish below"is success-
ful in both environmental protection and local develop-
ment.
The story began with a solar power plan.Working with a power company, the village
used about 890 mu (a Chinese unit of area of land)to build a solar project. When the pro-
ject started to produce electricity,it brought the village 800,000 yuan at once.
But the village wanted to make better use of the land.Village leaders thought the wa-
ter under the panels should not be wasted. After learning from other successful projects
and testing the water, they began to raise fish.
They chose several kinds of fish and let them grow naturally without man made food.
The solar panels blocked strong sunlight. They kept the water temperature suitable()
for small plants to grow. These plants became food for the fish.
Later, the project became bigger. The village increased the area to more than 1,000
mu.Catching fish brought the village more money.Every year, the solar panels make lots
of clean electricity and help protect the environment. At the same time, fish waste helps

From the late night of September 7th to the early morn-
ing of September 8th,2025,an amazing total lunar eclipse
took place.During this time, the Moon turns completely red
for about 83 minutes.People call it the "Blood Moon".But
what made the Moon turn red like that?Is it magic?
Actually,it's not magic.It's a "light show"carefully
directed by our own planet.During a total lunar eclipse, the Sun,the Earth, and the Moon
are in a straight line, with the Earth in the middle. When the Moon moves fully into the
dark area created by the Earth,it's hidden because it can't get any direct light from the
Sun.
But here's the fascinating part:the Earth is covered by the atmosphere().
When sunlight passes through the atmosphere, something magical happens. The atmos-
phere scatters()blue and purple light more strongly. At the same time, red and or-
ange light can pass through the atmosphere more easily. Some of the red and orange light
goes through the atmosphere and then changes its direction and shines onto the Moon's

surface. That's why the Moon appears red during a total lunar eclipse.
So,there's no need to be intimidated by the "Blood Moon";it's a beautiful and natu-
ral event to be enjoyed bravely.Interestingly, the red color isn't always the same.If there?
s more dust()in the Earth's atmosphere, the Moon appears darker red because more
light is scattered. If the atmosphere is clearer, the Moon appears brighter, with a more or-
ange-red color.
If you see a "Blood Moon"next time, don't worry. You can proudly tell others what'
s happening.
41.Which of the following pictures can best show a total lunar eclipse?

B.Because the Moon's surface is naturally red.
C.Because sunlight changes color when passing through the Moon
D.Because the Moon only receives the Sun's orange and red light.
43.Which of the following can take the place of "intimidated by"in the text?

44.What can we know if the Moon looks darker red during a total lunar eclipse?

When you were a teenager, did you ever feel that your parents
just didn't understand you?You are not alone. This is what we call
"growing pains".But recently, scientists have found that this period
of conflict might actually be good for you.
A study from the University of Virginia followed 184 teenagers
for over ten years. They recorded the arguments between the teen-

agers and their parents.46.
Teenagers who argued properly with their parents,
such as discussing disagreements calmly, were more likely to have successful friendships
later in life.47.
However, the study also found that teenagers who had no arguments with their par-
ents were often“people pleasers”.48.
On the other hand,if teenagers often
shouted at their parents, they ended up with bad relationships.
Joseph Allen,the lead researcher,said,"49.
If they can learn to express
their needs clearly without being aggressive(攻击性的),they will be better at dealing
with problems in other relationships."
So,if you sometimes argue with your parents about your grades, your friends,or
your career choices, don't worry too much.It might just be that you are learning impor-
tant life skills.50.
That's how growing pains turn into gains.
A.The result was surprising.
B.They might have difficulty saying "no"to peer pressure later.
C.Arguments with parents teach teenagers how to manage conflicts.
D.But remember, the key is to communicate calmly and respect each other.
E.They usually followed their own style instead of caring too much about others.
F.The main reason is that they could learn how to stand up for themselves in the
right way.

Franklin's Fight for Home
Houses can be very different. Some are big and have
swimming pools.Pop stars live in those houses. Some
houses are small and stand in a row. There is a brick wall
at one end,and they face a pie factory.Franklin Gates
lived in one of these houses. His address was No.3,
Stanley Street.
Franklin loved living on Stanley Street. The people there were kind, and all his
friends lived nearby. The smell from the pie factory was also great-it made him feel hun-
gry every day!But there was one problem.Franklin's parents wanted to move. His mother
was going to have twins, and they needed more space.
"I can share my room,"Franklin said. But his parents didn't agree."The house is too
small,”his mum said.
The next day,a "FOR SALE"sign appeared outside Franklin's house.
Franklin looked at the sign with his best friend Josh."What should I do,Josh?"he

“There are mice,”Josh said.“And the wallpaper is really ugly.”
Franklin sighed ()His house was clean, warm, and had just been painted. That
made it harder to stop someone from buying it.
Mrs Cox lived next door to Franklin. Her house used to be a small corner shop. She
came outside and said,"I'm sorry you're leaving."

“Don't worry,”said Mrs Cox.“Maybe no one will buy your house for a long time.”

.Franklin's mum looked
worried.Franklin danced around his room with his colourful shorts on his head.Maybe no
one would buy the house and I could stay,he thought.

To Live by a Twittering Bird
“Co0-COO-coo!Co0-COO-coo!”
For students in the graduating class, spring remains a
busy and stressful time as they prepare for the zhongkao
and gaokao. But outside the window,it is also the busiest
season of the year for birds. While you follow your teacher
and read the passages in your textbook, your feathered
friends are singing, dancing and chasing one another, hoping to find a mate().

Bird songs have moved great writers for hundreds of years. Many famous poets wrote
beautiful poems about bird calls, from ancient Chinese poet Wang Wei to British poet
Wordsworth.Still, not all people enjoy noisy birds.
One high school student in Shenzhen recently complained about the birds on campus
(校园).The birds’loud calls--“Ko-EL!”一had seriously disturbed(千扰)his studies,so
he asked the headmaster()to drive them away.
I can understand how upset()the student felt.Living close to several parks,I
often see different kinds of birds in my neighborhood. These birds are all excellent singers.
In springtime, their loud mating songs often wake me up as early as 4 a.m.But should
we try to remove these birds from our lives just because their sounds trouble us now and
then?
The headmaster of the Shenzhen high school said no.While we call our schools-and
our cities-our homes,they aren't only ours.Countless(birds,insects and other
creatures(生物)live here,too.As our neighbors,they should have the same right(权利)
to follow their natural instincts().We shouldn't always try to shape our world to
meet our needs.Instead,as the headmaster put it,we should learn to "live with it."
In fact,a little "disturbance"can even be helpful.Much like you,I learned English by
listening to CDs recorded in quiet studios().Then,the first time I spoke with a n-
ative()speaker in real life-in a restaurant with music playing, people chatting and
all kinds of background noise-I could hardly focus on his words. My guest laughed and
said."You can't always learn with these perfect recordings!"
As I wrote this article,a male()spotted dove was singing sweetly to a female
beside him. When I turned to look at them, they quickly flew away. Were they just too shy
to find their love story on this front page?
66.According to the passage, what season is the busiest for birds to find a mate?
67.Why did the high school student in Shenzhen want to drive birds away?
68.Summarize the main idea of the passage.(Within 30 words)
69.If you were the headmaster of the Shenzhen school, what would you say to the student
who wanted to drive the birds away?(At least 20 words)
