three cities in Hainan Province-Haikou,
Wenchang,and Sanya-each showing different

Good manners (are important in our life. They tell us how to behave
properly in different situations, and how to show respect to others. In China, good
manners have a long history, and they are an important part of Chinese traditional
culture.
In ancient China, people paid great attention to manners. The famous thinker
Confucius said that"Without manners,a person can't stand in society".He taught
his students to be polite, respectful and honest. For thousands of years,Chinese
people have been following the rules of good manners, and passing them down
from generation to generation.
Nowadays, good manners are still very important in our daily life.In public
places,we should wait in line, keep quiet, and not throw rubbish everywhere. On
the bus,we should give our seats to the elderly, the disabled and women with
babies. When we talk with others,we should listen carefully, and not cut in on
them.
Good manners are not only important in our daily life, but also in
cross-cultural communication.With the development of globalization(全球化),
more and more people have the chance to communicate with foreign people. In this
situation, knowing the manners of different cultures is very important. For example
in China, people often shake hands when they meet for the first time, but in some
Western countries, people hug or kiss each other on the face.If we don't know
these cultural differences,we may make others unhappy,or even cause
misunderstandings.
Some people think that good manners are not important in modern life. But I
don't think so.Good manners can help us make more friends, get along well with
others, and make the world a better place. They show our kindness and respect to
others. No matter how the society develops, good manners will never be out of
date.

I always admired my grandmother Jenny's gardening skills. But it wasn't until
a sunny afternoon in her backyard that I became interested in gardening myself. We
were there to grow tomatoes.16 Then she shared stories of her own
grandmother doing the same. It's a family tradition!
Over time, the small seedling had grown into a large tomato plant with
many juicy red tomatoes.Harvesting those tomatoes with my grandma was a
joy I won't forget. We spent hours in her kitchen making delicious homemade
spaghetti sauce.17
My time in the garden with my grandma showed me that gardening is more
than just a hobby. It's a way to connect with our roots. The garden became
something we both loved, bringing us closer together and creating a strong bond.
18 I watered the plants too much and forgot to take care of the soil.It
was a learning experience.I saw these moments as opportunities to learn.I read
