Dear Tom,
How is everything going? I'm more than glad to hear that you are planning to visit China this summer vacation. Since you haven't decided where to go, I'd like to recommend Beijing to you sincerely.
Beijing is the capital of China with a long and brilliant history. It has plenty of world-famous places of interest. The Great Wall, one of the greatest wonders in the world, is a must-visit. Walking on the Great Wall, you can enjoy amazing mountain scenery and feel the wisdom of ancient Chinese people. The Forbidden City is also well worth visiting, where you can learn about traditional Chinese imperial culture. Besides, there are lots of delicious local snacks, such as Beijing Roast Duck and sugar gourd, which will surely satisfy your taste buds.
I believe you will have a wonderful and unforgettable trip in Beijing. I'm looking forward to your coming and hope you will have a great time here.
Yours,
Li Hua
续写
Ms. Iris was unlocking the classroom door when Karie got to school the next morning. Seeing her teacher’s familiar figure(现在分词短语做伴随动作), Karie hesitated. A battle was going on in her mind. Should I tell her the truth? Before she could think further, Ms. Iris turned around and smiled. “You’re early today,” she said warmly. Karie forced a smile, her heart pounding(独立主格刻画人物心理). As they walked inside, her eyes landed on the box of the dictionary on her desk again. The label still read “for her perfect score”. Suddenly, she couldn’t bear it anymore. “Ms. Iris,” she whispered, her voice trembling(独立主格刻画人物心理), “I think... I need to tell you something about my test.” Ms. Iris stopped in her tracks, curiosity flashing across her face(独立主格). Karie then confessed the spelling mistake and the wrong correction she had made at the last second. “I... I didn’t mean to cheat,” she added, tears welling up in her eyes(独立主格). “I just got scared... of losing.”
Paragraph 2:
For a moment, Ms. Iris stood quietly examining the label on the dictionary.
Then she looked up, her eyes soft but serious(独立主格). “Karie,” she said gently, “it’s not about the score. It’s about doing what’s right.” She paused and handed the dictionary back. “The fact that you chose to tell me(同位从) means more than any perfect spelling.” Karie blinked through her tears, not sure(adj做主语补语) if she deserved such kindness. The class slowly filed in, unaware of(adj做主语补语) what had just happened. Ms. Iris stepped forward, announcing(现在分词做伴随动作), “Today, I want to celebrate something more valuable than a perfect score—courage and honesty.” Though Karie returned the prize, she gained something far more meaningful—a lesson she’d carry forever. As she sat down, the butterflies in her stomach faded away, replaced by a quiet, steady warmth(过去分词短语做后置定语).

The Chinese animated (动画的) movie Ne Zha 2 has become the highest-earning animated movie of all time globally since Feb. 18. This shows how big and successful China’s movie industry can be, according to China Daily.
Masses of amazing visuals and exciting experience are key reasons for Ne Zha 2’s success. The movie has a huge challenge for any single studio. Instead of one company, 138 Chinese animation studios and over 4,000 professionals worked together to create the film, including both well-known giants and smaller studios, Beijing Daily reported.
Red Whale Studios from Suzhou worked on a quarter of the production of Ne Zha 2, making it the biggest company involved in making the movie. The beautiful scenes in the movie, like fish swimming in the waves, were created by 160 people who worked day and night for 26 months, according to the official WeChat account of the Suzhou government.
Director Yang Yu, known as Jiaozi, explained that while international teams were initially considered for special effects, the results didn’t meet the standards. “Even top studios from international teams may use less experienced employees,” he told CCTV. Instead, he decided to let domestic teams refine the effects, ensuring the project was in expert hands.
One standout example is the work with Fantawild Animation, a film company based in Shenzhen. They were responsible for creating the attractive waterfall in the forest fight scene. Waterfalls are massive in size and have complex and ever-changing flow patterns. To make the waterfall look realistic, the team used advanced physics simulation (模拟) techniques with 50 high-performance workstations to do the necessary processing. The team worked hard to ensure that the final effect was grand and consistent with the style of the waterfalls.
In the movie, Ne Zha says, “If there’s no path ahead, I will create one.” Also, 138 Chinese animation companies have come together to shape the future of Chinese animation, showing the strength and creativity of the industry.
28. What can be known about Ne Zha 2 from the passage?
A. It was produced by a Chinese film company.
B. It features a large number of visual effects.
C. It has won a good reputation in overseas markets.
D. It has become the most profitable Chinese movie ever.
29. What does the underlined word “refine” in paragraph 4 mean?
A. Replace. B. Create. C. Improve. D. Increase.
30. What does the author suggest about Chinese animation companies by citing Ne Zha’s line (台词)?
A. They are determined to create and succeed.
B. They are eager to expand into overseas markets.
C They hope for greater recognition of Chinese animation.
D. They are keen on promoting traditional culture.
31. Where is this passage most likely taken from?
A. A travel magazine. B. A film-making textbook.
C. An entertainment news report. D. A scientific research paper.

When was the last time you thought about music, and what role does music play in your life? If you enjoy music every day, you are likely gaining many benefits.
Music has a mathematical structure based on relationships between one note and the next. You may not be aware of it, but your brain has to do a lot of computing to make sense of it. So, not surprisingly, listening to music can improve learning, memory, and mental alertness (警觉性). It also boosts concentration and mindfulness, as listening, playing, or moving to music keeps you focused in the present moment and even puts you “in the zone” where you experience the happy state of “flow”.
Research has shown that listening to music can reduce anxiety, blood pressure, and pain, and improve sleep quality, mood, well-being, and happiness. And especially when moving to music, your brain gets washed in beneficial “feel-good” hormones (激素). So music can potentially extend your life and enhance its quality.
Music is a vital element of culture, and every culture has specific types of music created, produced, and enjoyed by its people. In the U. S. alone, there are dozens of popular types, including Afro-beat, bluegrass, classical, and country. All these types of music have different origins and are associated with different subcultures, but they can be enjoyed by anyone, leading to cross-cultural appreciation and communication. Musical traditions are also connected to cultural celebrations — think about the music you associate with birthdays, graduations, weddings, and so on.
Your music preference in the moment can depend on how you want to feel. You likely pick specific types of music depending on whether you’re looking to relax or exercise, trying to be productive, or romantic. The right music can boost your mood and motivation to clean up, do homework, or work out. In contrast, you likely avoid music that makes you sad, or bored.
32. What is the function of the question in the beginning?
A. To put forward a new concept.
B. To offer some advice for readers.
C. To get the information of your interest.
D. To lead in the topic to be talked about.
33. Why can listening to music improve your ability to pay attention?
A. It keeps you concentrated. B. It makes you do computing.
C. It builds relations between notes. D. It draws your interest in new things.
34. The author mentions American music in paragraph 4 to show that ______.
A. music connects different peoples
B. the USA is a country with diverse cultures
C. each type of music is enjoyed by unique people
D. not all kinds of music are popular with people
35. What can you infer from the last paragraph?
A. Music has little effect on people’s emotions.
B. People choose music based on their desired emotions.
C. All types of music make people feel energetic.
D. Sad music is always avoided by people.

阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Train Your Brain to Think in Another Language
We’ve all heard that thinking in a foreign language is a sign of real fluency. But I bet you haven’t heard that it’s the fifth key language skill that all learners must develop—falling right in line with speaking, listening, reading and writing. ____36____ All it takes is some practice.
Translate your thoughts.
Start by describing what’s around you. When you see a tree, you could think “tree” in your target language. If the correct word for tree isn’t coming to you, think “green”, “wood” or anything else that can describe it. ____37____ If you’re really limited in terms of vocabulary, you could even count people, animals or objects in your head. Anything helps!
____38____
One of the best things about this strategy is that you won’t have to make many changes to your schedule. These are things you’ll already be doing, just do them in your target language! From writing your to-do list to reading the news, there are so many options to choose from!
Read more first person literature.
Reading is so important when it comes to learning a language. If you read books written in the first person, you'll see direct benefits. ____39____ You get to read someone else’s thoughts so that you can think your own! How cool is that?
Write in a journal.
Because journaling is writing down your thoughts, it gets you into the habit of thinking in your target language, especially if you're finding thinking itself to be difficult at first. Basically, it’s just another way to practice, although it’s slower. ____40____
A. It doubles as writing practice, too!
B. Learn to make a balanced schedule.
C. Carry out your daily activities in your target language.
D. Same goes for buildings, animals, clothing, whatever.
E. Obviously, these books give you the main character’s thoughts.
F. One of them is that you will find your reading speed greatly improved.
G. Like the other skills, thinking in your target language is absolutely learnable.

Karie checked the words on her spelling test. If she got 100 percent, she'd win her class's Spelling Challenge and a brand-new dictionary. Besides, Ms. Iris had promised to do handstand (手倒立) if anyone got perfect score.
Three more words to go. N-i-c-e--y. Q-u-i-c-k-1-y. H-0-n-e-s-t-y. Wait! She'd spelled honesty, not honestly! She erased the t,y and wrote l-y before handing in her paper. “I’ll correct these while you're having a break," Ms. Iris said.
After the break, Karie hurried into the classroom. She was on pins and needles in her seat(如坐针毡), tapping her pen and crossing her fingers for luck. Just then, Ms. Iris walked to the front, and like a gymnast, she flipped(翻转) into the air. “Congratulations, Karie! You did it!” she announced while upside down. The whole class erupted! Ms. Iris righted herself and presented Karie with her prize. Karie grinned (露齿而笑) as she read the label(标签) on the box: To Karie, for her perfect score in spelling.
“Everything OK?” Mom asked as Karie burst through the front door after school.
“Everything's PERFECT!” Karie shouted, showing Mom her spelling test and prize, “but I nearly misspelled honesly...” Wait! H-O-N-E-S-L-Y! Karie felt butterflies in her stomach. “Karie, what's the matter?” inquired Mom gently. “I don't feel so good”, Karie said. “Probably too much excitement.” Mom rubbed her back and got her a cup of tea. After a few drinks, Karie walked with heavy steps down the hall and fell onto her bed. How could she tell the class she hadn't earned the prize after all?
Soon her sister Kevin came in. The smell of her pizza floated in the air. Karie remembered last time when the salesclerk gave them too much change after their purchase of pizza. Mom insisted on returning the money. But Kevin thought it was the salesclerk's fault instead of theirs. If Kevin had been right, then wasn't it Ms Iris’s fault in the first place? And if she just picked up her pen, and put the missing t back in.no one would ever know.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Paragraph 1: Ms.Iris was unlocking the classroom door when Karie got to school the next morning.
