The argument about whether robots will replace teachers in the classroom is very heated. Some people think it is sure to happen in the next ten years. Others think that the value a good teacher brings, not only to the classroom setting. but in developing a child’s confidence and creativity outside lessons, cannot be easily replaced. AI is not new for us and is already being used successfully in many fields, such as medicine, science and so on. So what does this mean for our future? In my view, AI will help kids to think more freely and creatively. Can AI possibly cut down the teaching work in the future, too? Of course. Our teachers are always busy preparing materials for their lessons, Just imagine how happy they would be if they don’t have to copy hundreds of paper, but instead, have this task or others done by machines. However, most importantly, I do not believe AI will be able to imitate the human mental condition totally, especially emotional intelligence(情商). What makes learning unforgettable is shared experience, human interaction(互相作用), and long-lasting positive relationships. For example, experienced teachers can comfort a student if he has suffered a serious loss. But it hasn’t been proved that robots can imitate this well. I also believe we need to continue to celebrate our kids’ personality and their ability not only to make decisions but also make the right decisions. These are skills that they can get as they get more life experience and are given the space to experiment. To what degree can teachers use AI in their classes? You can have all the data(数据)you like with the help of AI, but great teachers will also need to depend on their own feelings. 36. The writer starts the passage by ________. A. telling stories B. comparing views C. raising questions D. giving suggestions 37. We can learn that some people think a good teacher might be able to ________. A. use AI as much as possible in the class teaching B. help kids think more freely and creatively than AI C. have high intelligence to deal with the heavy teaching work D. develop a child’s confidence and creativity outside the lessons 38. What is Paragraph 2 mainly about? A. Why teachers can be replaced in classrooms. B. There is argument over Artificial Intelligence. C. How helpful AI can be to both students and teachers. D. AI is only being used successfully in education. 39. What’s the structure of the passage? A. B. C. D. 40. Which example can be shown that the human teacher is important? A. A teacher gives lessons to students. B. A teacher use modern way to teach students. C. A teacher comforts a student who failed the exam. D. A teacher checks hundreds of paper by himself every day. 【答案】36. B 37. D 38. C 39. A 40. C 【解析】 【分析】本文主要讲了对于人工智能是否可以取代老师的观点,作者提出了自己的看法。 【36题详解】 推理判断题。根据短文开头“There is great excitement and argument(争论)over Artificial Intelligence(AI,人工智能)”可知,关于人工智能有很大的争论,结合下面“Some people think it is sure to happen in the next ten years. Others think that the value a good teacher brings, not only to the classroom setting.”可知,这是在提出两方的观点,所以文章是以比较观点的方式开始短文内容的。故选B。 【37题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章第一段最后一句“Others think that the value a good teacher brings, not only to the classroom setting. but in developing a child’s confidence and creativity outside lessons, cannot be easily replaced.”可知,另一些人认为,一个好老师所带来的价值,不仅是在课堂上,而且在培养孩子的自信和课外创造力方面,是不能轻易取代的,D选项表述正确,故选D。 【38题详解】 主旨大意题。根据文章第二段“In my view, AI will help kids to think more freely and creatively. Can AI possibly cut down the teaching work in the future, too? Of course. Our teachers are always busy preparing materials for their lessons.” 故选A。 【40题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章第三段“For example, experienced teachers can comfort a student if he has suffered a serious loss. But it hasn’t been proved that robots can imitate this well.”可知,老师可以安慰一个考试失败的学生,但AI做不到。故选C。 D As climate change brings dangers to people, we are now facing another problem—underground climate change. With the development of cities, the rising underground temperature is causing the ground to heat up and deform, reported a research team from Northwestern University, US. In the last three years, the team had put more than 150 temperature sensors under Chicago. The places include subway tunnels (隧道), underground parking lots and basements (地下室) of buildings. The temperatures they recorded were surprising. For example, air temperatures in underground structures can be up to 25℃ higher compared to the undisturbed ground temperature. After collecting data in Chicago, the team created computer models to see how temperatures will influence the ground until 2051. When heated, some soft materials may contract (收缩), and other materials, such as stone, may expand (膨胀) in size. The models showed that warmer temperatures can cause the ground to expand upward by as much as 1.2 centimeters, or sink downward by as much as 0.8 centimeters. This may even cause the ground to crack (开裂), leaving people who live and work above in dangerous situations. “The effects can be very bad, but it takes a long time to see them,” Rotta Loria, who led the study, said in a report. As scientists have already known a lot about underground climate change, future plans for cities should take it into consideration. Materials that take in heat can be used to keep the heat from entering the ground. The team also pointed out that the rising temperature could be seen as an opportunity. City planners can try to collect heat underground and send it above for heating. 41. Which place might belong to the “undisturbed ground”? A. Forests. B. Subway tunnels. C. Basements of buildings. D. Underground parking lots. 42. What did the research team find in Chicago? A. Underground climate change is quickening. B. The underground temperature has risen to 25℃. C. Local underground temperatures are rising. D. Climate change affects the underground temperature. 43. Which of following may be caused by underground climate change? A. Cracking in the ground. B. Contractions in buildings. C. Expansions of soft materials. D. More earthquakes. 44. To lower underground temperature, researchers suggested ________. A. we use materials that take in heat B. we collect heat underground C. we cut down human activities D. we protect the underground environment 45. What is the last paragraph mainly about? A. What the team will study in the future. B. How to make use of the rising underground heat. C. How to control the temperature underground. D. What the results will be if we don’t take action. 【答案】41. A 42. C 43. A 44. A 45. This is a fun project that you can do with things you may have. You just need to follow a few easy steps. You will need:  one piece of heavy colored paper  five ribbons (缎带)  strong tape  a string  A pencil What to do: Step 1: Draw pictures on the paper. You can write your name on it. Do anything that will make it special to you. Step 2: Make the paper into the shape of a tube. Hold one of the shorter edges (边缘) tube over the other. Then make them together with the tape at each end and in the middle. Step 3: Use a pencil to make a hole into both sides of the tube. The holes should be only on one end of the tube. Pull the string through both holes. Then tie the ends of the string together. Step 4: Now make five holes around the top of the other end of the tube. Put a ribbon through each of the holes. Tie a knot in the ends. Make sure the knots are bigger than the holes. Now your windsock is ready to use, but how does it work? The shape of the tube plays an important part. Wind blows through the tube and makes it fly and dance around. Hold the windsock up in the air by its string and run around. It will fly behind you. What Is a Windsock Like B Most people remember their childhood by looking at old photos or videos. But for some, they choose to remember it by making models of their old homes where they grew up. Du Yi, a Chinese miniature (微缩模型) artist, used to make models of historic buildings. One day, a friend asked him to make a model of his old home in the countryside. He thought it was meaningful, so he helped. After he posted a short video online, it went viral. He won thousands of followers. Today, he has over 200 000 followers online. Du often makes the miniature house 30 times smaller than its real size. It usually takes him one to two months to make a model with the pictures provided by customers. Hundreds of small pieces and about 50 different materials, including wood, paper, and materials straight from nature are used. He often visits the villages to take a closer look at the details. He can spend the whole week studying one building, trying to understand the story, shapes and colors. “I have to be very careful about the details. If they are good, the work will come to life,” Du says. His miniature houses are sold at a starting price of around 20 000 yuan. “When I first saw the model of my old home, it took me back to my childhood. Grandfather taught me how to farm and make toys from things around us,” says Hao Wei, one of Du’s customers. When a skillful hand meets the need of people, a good business starts. 31. How do most people remember their childhood according to the passage? A. By taking new photos. B. By watching TV. C. By looking at old photos. D. By visiting friends. 32. What does the underlined word “viral” in Paragraph 2 mean? A. Difficult. B. Popular. C. Terrible. D. Important. 33. What can we learn from the passage? A. Nature. C There is great excitement and argument(争论)over Artificial Intelligence(AI, 人工智能). D As climate change brings dangers to people, we are now facing another problem—underground climate change. C.
