The girls nodded. “Good. And ask them for the payment,” the lady added.
As the girls walked away, Sista wrestled with the sack. “This is so heavy.” “This basket is heavy, too,” Rafi complained.
The girls reached the Gomez’s home sweating and panting. Mrs. Gomez answered the door with three kids. The girls held up the food. “This is from the lady with the jobo tree,” said Sista.
Mrs. Gomez smiled. “Thank you,” she cried. “My husband is still sick in bed. Times are hard.”

Then he remembered the old objects he had recently collected. Among them was an old-fashioned metal milk box, which showed scratches but was still strong. He thought it could be repurposed into a perfect new mailbox. With a burst of inspiration, he got to work immediately. He cleaned the milk box thoroughly, removing years of dirt and rust. He also added a new coat of bright red paint, making it look brand-new and cheerful, as if getting a second life. To personalize it, he painted the letters “FOX” clearly on the side in white. For the finishing touch, he attached a small, decorative metal handle he had taken from an old drawer.
The next day, he showed up at Helen’s house with a shiny new mailbox. Helen was amazed when she saw it. “Mr. Duane, this is wonderful!
