Then we set off for the tidal island. We walked over the sand to the island and started to explore with great interest. There was an old ruined church and a few abandoned buildings full of mysteries. Seagulls were flying in the sky, and wild flowers were blooming by the roadside. On the other side of the island we enjoyed milk and sandwiches, throwing stones into the sea. After a while, dark clouds covered the sun and it got windy. I said, “I’m cold and I want to go home.” We walked back over the island to the beach. But we couldn’t find it! It wasn’t there any more!
The tide came in and covered the beach and the water was too deep and cold for me. We were in a dangerous situation. Frightened, I couldn’t help crying. “Calm down,” shouted Alastair. “Quick! We have to return before it’s too late! Climb on my back quickly.” The water was up to her lap, but Alastair was very strong and struggled through the waves with me on her back.
