(2) have a deeper understanding on the positive attitude towards life. 教学 重点 The class will focus on: (1) leading students to learn about the clown doctor’s working responsibilities and working ways. (2) helping students to understand the meaning of clown doctor’s work and further shaping their values. 教学 难点 inspiring students to form a positive attitude towards pains and challenges in life. 教学 方法 Communicative Teaching Method; Task-based Teaching Method. P-W-P reading model. 学情分析及学习方法 Students in Senior 5 have had a basic reading skill to comprehend a passage. Besides, they are not as shy as they were last year. They are brave and eager to express their ideas in English as long as they have something to say. However, if they are not familiar with a topic or do not have enough background knowledge, they are unwilling to raise their hands in class. For this lesson, clown doctor is kind of new for students. They know little about a clown doctor’s responsibilities and their working ways. Therefore, they may have difficulty in answering some questions, such as “ Would you like to work as a cloud doctor?”. Activity 4 Think and answer: For a patient, medical doctors are ___________ to recover. In the meantime, with a clown doctor, a patient will recover more ______________. Step 3. Post-reading Activity 1 (group work ) Find out the differences and similarities between two kinds of doctors. Activity 2 (Individual work) Think and share: 1. How important do you think clown doctors are? 2. Do you want to be a clown doctor? Homework Doctor Larry is invited to make a speech for Chinese students, introducing his daily work as a clown doctor. Please help him complete his presentation based on the given structure chart. 1.Watch a video and find out what are the clowns doing in Chengdu. 1. Read the passage quickly with the required information in mind. 2. Share their answers and pay attention to the teacher’s feedback.
