根据“He was excited when Mrs. Williams called his name.”
根据“because River seemed to mess around a lot”可知,里弗经常捣乱,因此卢克感到担心。
根据“those who do their best, even if they don’t win”可知,此处是在解释真正的“赢家”是什么样的人。
better“更好的”符合语境,nothing is better than winning表示“没有什么比获胜更好”。
根据前文“Luke’s attitude towards sports made the members unhappy.” find out“查明”、look after“照顾”、depend on“依靠”均不符合队友抱怨的内容。
根据“Carmen shouted and walked off.
根据“who was responsible for the daily practice of the children”可知,负责训练的人应是教练。
根据后文“Maybe I care too much about the result”可知,卢克开始反思自己,因此改变了想法。
根据“didn’t come first”与“had a good time at last”可知,前后是让步关系。 When“当……时”、Since“因为”、Before“在……

People think acrobatics are very difficult but exciting. When watching acrobatic performances, people often hold their breath. The acrobats’ skills and courage make people cheer loudly.
As acrobatics became popular worldwide, the local government took action. It started the China Wuqiao International Circus Festival in 1987. This event takes place every two years. The best acrobats from different countries come to perform. In 1993, the county opened Wuqiao Acrobatics World. It is a theme park where visitors can watch amazing shows and even experience acrobatics. Many tourists visit the park every year to enjoy this special art form. Since 2017, acrobatics have been part of classes in schools in Wuqiao. More than 30,000 students at home and abroad have learned acrobatics.

Aria Law, a 17-year-old girl, wanted to do something to spread kindness after seeing an attack on two old people in her Asian community. She had always enjoyed making baozi, a kind of traditional Chinese food. She learned it from her grandmother. She thought that sharing this special part of her culture might help bring people together.
Many people asked why she chose baozi. “Making baozi has a calming effect,” Aria explained. “Chinese families often make baozi together, so we start a family cooking activity for the community. I want to create the same warmth for everyone.”
Her baozi was unique. She made the dough (生面团) in cheerful colours and shaped it into funny faces, animals, and cartoon characters. With her love for robotics, Aria began designing a 3D printer to make baozi, connecting tradition with the new technology.
Aria’s creations became popular. She sold them at events like the BC (British Columbia) Dumpling Festival, where her baozi won first prize in 2023. She also started her own festival called Bots and Buns Fest to celebrate and share cultures and history through baozi.
When Aria won 5,000 dollars, she used it to help the elderly who had illnesses. “In my culture, grandparents and the elderly are very important, and I want to make the world a better place,” she said. She thought that sharing this special part of her culture might help bring people together.
Many people asked why she chose baozi. “Making baozi has a calming effect,” Aria explained. “Chinese families often make baozi together, so we start a family cooking activity for the community. I want to create the same warmth for everyone.”
