Observing the huge happiness music brought to the elderly audience, Grace decided to organize musical events for seniors in her community. At just 16 years old, Grace set up a school service club to arrange concerts in care centers, hospitals, and nursing homes. Grace and her classmates started with both virtual and in-person performances, which received heartfelt praise from seniors. The positive response encouraged Grace to continue exploring new ideas, especially for seniors experiencing cognitive (认知的) challenges, such as those with Alzheimer’s disease. A growing number of corporate-sponsored charity bike rides and city cycle clubs are providing ideal opportunities to talk shop with like-minded workmates and clients while discussing different bike frames. Many believe cycling is better than golf for building lasting working relationships or landing a new job because it is less competitive. Peter Murray, a former architect, explains: “When you play golf with somebody, you have to decide if you’re going to beat them, or let them beat you. If they’re a client and you don’t want to beat them, you have to sort of cheat to lose. That’s not a good way.” Group cycling, especially long-distance riding, is a shared experience where riders work together, taking turns at the front to help others save almost a third of the effort. A keen long-distance rider, Murray founded the annual Cycle to Cannes in 2005 — a six-day charity event where architects cycle 1,500 km from London to the MIPIM property fair in France each March, having raised £ 4.5m for charities. Jean-Jacques Lorraine, a regular participant, says cycling reveals character: “Conversations flow easily. I often say things I wouldn’t normally, and others share things with me unexpectedly. Some riders are single-minded, others cooperative; some plan cleverly, others an open book.” Simon Mottram, CEO of Rapha, notes long- distance cycling lifts mood, focusing on riding and companions. “The rhythm of fuelling, riding, celebrating eases life’s stresses.” Unlike quick post-work meals, long rides allow deeper connections and break the gap between higher and lower positions: “A younger rider might help a CEO, changing their off-ride relationship.” Perhaps the most compelling reason why cycling is a good way to network is that, for many professionals, it’s a passion and a way of life they share. “It’s what we dream of while at our computers,” Mottram adds. 8. What does the first paragraph mainly tell us? A. Staff discuss frames more than work. B. Cycling becomes a professional social hit. C. Corporate charities center on cycling. D. Golf was a popular networking method. 9. What is the main purpose of the annual Cycle to Cannes? A. To promote architects’ competition. B. To collect money for charitable causes. C. To popularize long- distance cycling. D. To display various bike frames at a fair. 10. Why does Jean-Jacques Lorraine favor cycling for networking? A. It saves effort in long trips. B. It is a shared passion for many. C. It lifts mood and eases stress. D. It shows character and eases talks. 11. What does the underlined word “compelling” in Paragraph 5 mean? A. Outdated. B. Similar. C. Convincing. D. Disturbing. B 9. B 10. D 11. 根据第一段“Traditionally, business associates would get to know each other over a round of golf, but road cycling is fast catching up as the preferred networking way for modern professionals. A growing number of corporate-sponsored charity bike rides and city cycle clubs are providing ideal opportunities to talk shop with like-minded workmates and clients while discussing different bike frames. Many believe cycling is better than golf for building lasting working relationships or landing a new job because it is less competitive. 根据第二段中“A keen long-distance rider, Murray founded the annual Cycle to Cannes in 2005 — a six-day charity event where architects cycle 1,500 km from London to the MIPIM property fair in France each March, having raised £ 4.5m for charities. (作为一名热衷长途骑行的人,穆雷于2005年创立了一年一度的“自行车到戛纳”慈善活动——这是一项为期6天的慈善活动,建筑师们每年3月从伦敦骑车1500公里到法国MIPIM房地产博览会,为慈善机构筹集了450万英镑。)”可知,这是一个慈善活动,已经为慈善机构筹集了 450 万英镑,所以该活动的主要目的是为慈善事业筹款。故选B项。 【10题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段“Jean-Jacques Lorraine, a regular participant, says cycling reveals character: “Conversations flow easily. I often say things I wouldn’t normally, and others share things with me unexpectedly. Some riders are single-minded, others cooperative; some plan cleverly, others an open book.” 根据最后一段提到“Perhaps the most… reason why cycling is a good way to network is that, for many professionals, it’s a passion and a way of life they share. (也许骑行是一种很好的社交方式的最……原因是,对于许多专业人士来说,这是他们共同的爱好和生活方式。)”结合前文讲述的骑行在社交方面的各种好处,这里应该是说最有说服力的原因,C 选项“Convincing”(有说服力的)符合语境。故选C项。 D Morningside Park in Miami, on the east coast of the US, will soon start a new project to improve the environment. Our team has developed BIOCAP tiles (砖) using 3D printing, which will be installed on the present seawall there this year. With their special design, these tiles will help deal with rising sea levels and bring back nature along the coastline. Seawalls are usually made with concrete (混凝土) to prevent waves from damaging the land and flooding people’s homes. They usually range from about 1.8 to 3 meters in height. However, traditional seawalls can harm the environment. Their flat surfaces take away the habitat areas that sea organisms depend on. These organisms help keep the water clear and clean by screening out extra nutrients and pollutants. For example, an adult oyster can filter 75 to 190 liters of water daily. BIOCAP tiles are designed with lines, cracks and small pockets. These features copy natural coastline conditions and create tiny homes for sea creatures. The wavy patterns also increase the total surface area, so that the organisms have more space to use. In addition, shaded spots on the tiles provide cooler micro-environments, supporting life as more heat events happen due to climate change. Another benefit of the tiles is that they can better reduce the impact of waves. When waves hit a natural coastline, their energy is gradually taken in by uneven surfaces and plants. However, when waves strike straight concrete seawalls, the energy is reflected right back into the water. This reflection can strengthen wave action, make erosion worse at the base of the wall and create more dangerous conditions during storms. The tiles’ shapes are based on how water behaves with different surfaces at high and low tide. Some tiles bend inward while others outward, and they are placed at different heights along the seawall. This results in surfaces that spread out wave energy by copying the natural way it fades on untouched shorelines. 12. What is the main advantage of BIOCAP tiles over traditional seawalls? A. They are more friendly to the environment. B. They are more cost-efficient. C. They help keep the water clean. D. They can stop the sea levels from rising. 13. What is the function of the example of oysters in paragraph 2? A. To list a kind of sea life. B. To prove the surface is flat. C. To explain the harm of traditional seawall. D. To show how sea animals harm the water. 14. Why are BIOCAP tiles shaped with lines and cracks? A. Because it can save materials. B. Because it can frighten away sea animals. C. Because it can make the walls more beautiful. D. Because it can create more room for organisms. 15. What can be the best title of this text? A. Perfect Coastline conditions in Miami. B. 3D printed tiles replacing traditional seawalls. C. A new wave hitting the coastline in Miami. D. 3D printed tiles helping nature. A 13. C 14. D 15. 根据第二段中“However, traditional seawalls can harm the environment. Their flat surfaces take away the habitat areas that sea organisms depend on. (然而,传统的海堤会对环境造成危害。它们平坦的表面夺走了海洋生物赖以生存的栖息地)”以及第三段中“BIOCAP tiles are designed with lines, cracks and small pockets. These features copy natural coastline conditions and create tiny homes for sea creatures. (BIOCAP砖设计有线条、裂缝和小口袋。这些特征模仿了自然海岸线的条件,为海洋生物创造了微小的家园)”可知,BIOCAP砖相较于传统海堤的主要优势在于它们模仿了自然海岸线的条件,为海洋生物创造了微小的家园,对环境更为友好。故选A项。 根据第二段中“However, traditional seawalls can harm the environment. Their flat surfaces take away the habitat areas that sea organisms depend on. These organisms help keep the water clear and clean by screening out extra nutrients and pollutants. For example, an adult oyster can filter 75 to 190 liters of water daily. 根据第三段中“BIOCAP tiles are designed with lines, cracks and small pockets. These features copy natural coastline conditions and create tiny homes for sea creatures. The wavy patterns also increase the total surface area, so that the organisms have more space to use. (BIOCAP砖设计有线条、裂缝和小口袋。这些特征模仿了自然海岸线的条件,为海洋生物创造了微小的家园。波浪图案还增加了总面积,使生物有更多的空间可以利用)”可知,BIOCAP砖设计成有线条和裂缝的形状是为了为生物创造更多的生存空间。故选D项。 【15题详解】 主旨大意题。通读全文,结合第一段中“Our team has developed BIOCAP tiles (砖) using 3D printing, which will be installed on the present seawall there this year. With their special design, these tiles will help deal with rising sea levels and bring back nature along the coastline. Rock climbing has recently grown rapidly, with nearly 1,500 people trying it for the first time each day. It was Friday again: a weekend of joy with unlimited sleeping hours and dinner courses specially made to my taste. A weekend at home. I waved goodbye to my friends as they jumped into their fathers’ warm and comfortable cars. Curiously, this gave rise to a disturbing feeling in me. It was not exactly what they called jealousy (嫉妒), but something like dismay (沮丧). I knew all I could expect was an old bike Mom would ride along on, with the badly-oiled chain creaking (嘎吱作响) against the wheel to announce her arrival. Every Friday when Mom came to pick me up for the weekend, it was a moment full of great expectation and great unease. I always felt my face burning as we rode our way in and out of the numerous cars and saw my friends’ faces sticking out of the car windows. It was like stepping into a ballroom with beautifully dressed ladies and finding yourself in a smelly T-shirt. To tell you the truth, Mom is quite a headache occasionally. She looks like a homely middle-aged housewife. Being a skilled person of DIY, she knits (编织) most of my sweaters, chiefly in old styles. Whenever caught by some curious classmates asking what brand my sweaters are, I’d force a smile and reply in a half-joking manner: homemade. She simply doesn’t seem to understand what’s in fashion; Chanel or Banana Republic doesn’t mean anything to her. I couldn’t remember when I started to find her such an embarrassment. As a little boy, I relied on her so much. She had been working at home, cooking in the kitchen, knitting by the lamp, or riding across town to buy me a book I badly needed. It had always been fun riding with her. I had enjoyed watching our shadows growing longer and shorter in an alternate fashion by the light of the streetlamps along the road. Just now there seemed to be something standing between us, something that made her so strange to me and me to her. Today she showed up in a raincoat. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Mom tried to cover me with the back of the raincoat again as a storm set in. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version Today she showed up in a raincoat. Once she saw me, Mom called my name excitedly. Almost everybody present looked in her direction.I swallowed hard and fixed my stare on the middle of the road, sweat forming in tiny droplets on my forehead. When she tried to cover me with the back of her raincoat, I simply threw it aside. In silence, I shot her a blaming glance and threw my backpack heavily into the front basket of the bike. Without a single word, I jumped onto the backseat. Mom tried to cover me with the back of the raincoat again as a storm set in. Reluctantly, I pulled it over. With the wind roaring angrily and the raincoat dancing, it felt warm and secure inside. Mom bent forward and pedaled with all her strength, her waist twitching with tension. I started to feel guilty of my coldness, tears welling up in my eyes. Quietly, I slipped my hands around Mom’s waist and gently pressed my face against her back. In the crying wind and pouring rain, I found myself hugging my mother, tighter than ever. 词汇激活 行为类 ① 盯着看:fix one’s stare on/fix one’s eyes on/stare at ② 一言不发:Without a single word/buttoning up one’s mouth ③ 拥抱:hug/embrace 情绪类 ① 不情愿地:reluctantly/unwillingly ② 冷漠:coldness/indifference 【点睛】【高分句型1】 Once she saw me, Mom called my name excitedly.(由连接词once引导条件状语从句) 【高分句型2】When she tried to cover me with the back of her raincoat, I simply threw it aside.(由连接词when引导时间状语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2025-2026学年高一下学期6月份测试卷 英 语 (考试时间:120分钟 试卷满分:150分) 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 注意,听力部分答题时请先将答案标在试卷上,听力部分结束前你将有两分钟的时间将答案转涂到答题卡上。 1. B On a lively afternoon at a senior center, Grace Sun, a talented high school student and classical pianist, was performing for a talent show, her fingers gracefully moving over the piano keys and her eyes filled with determination. After learning about the benefits of music therapy (治疗), Grace began adding familiar 1960s songs to their performances. The recognizable music reminded the elderly of joyful memories of past experiences, proving the deep emotional impact of music. Driven by her desire to make a wider impact, Grace turned her student club into a non-profit organization in 2023, named Melodies for Remedies. The organization now aims not only to bring comfort and joy through performances, but also to raise awareness of and funds for music therapy research and treatment. With the support of over 100 student musician volunteers, Melodies for Remedies has hosted concerts and music therapy programs across the country, significantly improving the lives of many. Grace’s story illustrates the amazing power of music to bridge generations and build a strong sense of community. By bringing together student musicians and seniors, she has created meaningful connections and brought happiness to countless individuals. What can we learn about Melodies for Remedies? A. It supports music therapy with funding. B. It focuses on training senior musicians. C. It has cured some seniors with Alzheimer’s. D. C Traditionally, business associates would get to know each other over a round of golf, but road cycling is fast catching up as the preferred networking way for modern professionals. A. Outdated. B. Similar. C. Convincing. D. Disturbing. D Morningside Park in Miami, on the east coast of the US, will soon start a new project to improve the environment. 13. I stood at the school gate, with a loaded backpack on my shoulders. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
