One rainy Tuesday, a man entered looking for peace of mind. He complained that cafes were too noisy and libraries too 5 for deep thought. Claire had an inspiration. What if she turned her shop into a 6 for quiet contemplation (沉思)? She painted a sign:“Silent Reading Hour—Come in, Read, Leave Whispers at the Door.”
The first session was a disaster. Only two people 7 , and one kept checking his phone. Claire felt defeated, but she decided to try one more week. Word spread. Soon, the Silent Reading Hour became a weekly routine. People didn’t just come to read; they came to be 10 by others doing the same. It fostered a sense of community that algorithms (算法) could never 11 . Claire realized she wasn’t just selling books anymore; she was selling 12 .
