Step 1 Choose the design for the kite.
Consider a design in the shape of an animal, like a bird, a butterfly, or a dragonfly. Chinese kites usually use an animal design. No matter what animal you choose, you should go for a shape with the same material on either side of the kite.
Step 2 Make the body of the kite.
Draw a picture of the animal you are going to use for the kite on a piece of paper or newspaper. For example, if you are using a butterfly shape, you could draw one butterfly wing on one side of the piece of paper. You could then fold (折叠) the piece of paper in half and cut out the wings. This will make sure you have a kite with the same two halves.
Step 3 Cover the kite with a piece of paper.
Cover the kite body with another piece of paper or newspaper. Place the kite along the fold of the newspaper or the middle of the piece of paper. Draw the kite on the paper and cut it out. Then, connect the cover to the kite with tape.
Step 4 ________.
Get creative and use paints, markers, or colored pencils to draw designs on the kite. If you are using an animal shape, like a butterfly or a bird, draw in details found in nature, such as butterfly wing designs or bird feathers. Use bright colors so the kite looks pretty when it is flying in the wind.
Step 5 Put tung oil on the kite.
According to Chinese tradition, the kite body is usually treated with tung oil. This will allow the paper to remain stiff (硬挺的) but lightweight.
15.This is probably ________.
A.an instruction B.an advertisement C.a public notice D.a private diary
16.Which is the correct order of the pictures according to the steps?
A.abced B.acedb C.caedb D.ceabd
17.Which is the most suitable for ________?
A.Shape the kite B.Test the kite C.Decorate the kite D.Fix the kite

When Wilbur and Orville Wright finished their flight at Kitty Hawk, Americans celebrated the brotherly bond. The brothers had grown up playing together, they had been in the newspaper business together, and they had built an airplane together. They even said they “thought together”. However, when the Wright brothers said they thought together, what they really meant was that they argued together. “After long arguments, we often found ourselves in the position of each having been pulled to the other’s side,” Orville thought back. “I don’t think they really got mad,” their mechanic (机械师) remembered, “but they got awfully hot.”
The skill to get hot without getting mad is important in life. But it’s one that few parents teach to their kids. We want to give kids a warm home, so we stop brothers and sisters from quarrelling and we have our own arguments behind closed doors. Yet if kids never face disagreement directly, we’ll end up limiting their creativity. As the psychologist Robert Albert put it, the creative person-to-be comes from a family that is one with a “wobble (摇晃)”. Wilbur and Orville Wright came from a wobbly family. The brothers often watched their father Milton Wright fight with school teachers who weren’t fond of his decision to let his kids miss a half-day of school from time to time to learn on their own.
The Wright brothers were not alone. The Beatles fought over instruments. Steven Jobs and Steve Wozniak argued constantly while designing the first Apple computer. Brainstorming groups get 16 percent more ideas when the members are encouraged to criticize one another. The most creative ideas in Chinese technology companies come from teams that have real disagreement early on.
Children need to learn the value of thoughtful disagreement. We should teach kids that silence is bad manners. It disrespects the value of your own view point and your own voice. It’s a sign of respect to care enough about someone’s opinion that you’re willing to challenge it. Good arguments are wobbly: a team or family might rock back and forth but it never tips over. If kids don’t learn to wobble, they never learn to walk; they end up standing still.

A.To summarize the paragraphs above. B.To add some background information.

19.What does the writer say about the Wright brothers?
A.They always took advice from their mechanic. B.They knew little about the newspaper business.

A.Rude B.Generous C.Hard-working D.Unusual

If you’ve ever watched a pet dog getting up from its bed and spreading out, with its front paws on the floor and its tail pointing up in the air, you’ll know where the downward-facing dog pose gets its name. You’ll have noticed that many other well-known yoga poses take their names from animals too. But just why is it that so many poses are based on animals, insects, and even birds?
To understand where these poses came from you have to think like an ancient yogi. The practice of yoga started many thousands of years ago. There were no cars, computers, high-rise buildings, or playgrounds, so instead people looked to the natural world for inspiration (灵感).
Dawattie Basdeo teaches yoga to children and young people. She explains, “Ancient yogis sat in nature and watched the world around them. They would have been watching the way that animals moved and thinking about copying those shapes. Yoga is about understanding how the world works and your place within it through movement and meditation (冥想).”
Young children are flexible (柔韧的). But as humans grow up, they spend more time sitting at desks or travelling in cars, and their flexibility decreases. Animals don’t have this problem—in fact, they often depend on their bodies and their ability to move to survive.
Dawattie says, “Thinking about animal forms and shapes can make the different yoga poses easy to understand and remember. When you think of the way a dog spreads out, you can easily picture what a downward-facing dog pose might look like. ①A clear picture will come to your mind.”
Yoga is also a spiritual practice, where you think about improving your self-awareness as you move, hold positions, pay attention to your breathing, and meditate.②
Some breathing exercises practised in yoga also take inspiration from nature, such as Bhramari Pranayama—or bee breathing—where the breath sounds like the buzzing of a bumblebee.③
Along with taking inspiration from the living beings around them, the ancient yogis were also inspired by the landscapes of the natural world. ④There are postures that mirror the calmness of a mountain or the strength and balance of a tall tree.
“Humans think of themselves as being at the top of the species ladder,” says Dawattie. “But we can gain so much from the other animals on the planet.”
22.What can we learn about yoga from the passage?
A.Yoga was first created for modern stress. B.Yoga suits someone with good flexibility.
C.Yoga makes humans as strong as animals. D.Yoga connects humans to the natural world.
23.The following sentence can be best placed at ________.
When you pose like a powerful lion, you might think about its strengths and characteristics.
A.① B.② C.③ D.④
24.Why is “mountain” pose mentioned in the passage?
A.To show yoga is about more than animals. B.To teach how to stand like a mountain.
C.To prove yoga is just for nature lovers. D.To explain what to do with the breath.
25.How does the writer share information in the passage?
A.By giving facts and examples. B.By listing historical events.
C.By sharing experiences and opinions. D.By comparing different animals.

Have you ever imagined being in a car which is driven by a computer? In recent years, China has made great progress in self-driving technology. Since August, 2022, self-driving taxis can run in many cities. 26
Self-driving cars have several advantages. First, they use computers to feel the things around them and make better use of space. 27 Second, self-driving cars can help the disabled or blind people to get around more easily. Third, self-driving cars hardly make wrong decisions or lose focus, so there will be fewer accidents on the road.
28 They also have some problems. If something unexpected on the road happens, self-driving cars cannot always react (反应) as fast as human drivers. Also, when the weather is bad, self-driving cars cannot see the lines on the road easily. 29
Besides, if the computer system of the car is broken by someone, the car may crash.
It is clear that there is still a long way to go to make self-driving cars more common and safer. 30 So let’s wait and see—Chinese driverless cars are on their way!
A.This may cause an accident.
B.Why do we develop self-driving cars?
C.However, self-driving cars are not perfect.
D.And China is taking steps to make this happen.

六、阅读表达 (本大题共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读短文,根据短文内容回答问题,每个题目的答案不超过10个单词。
Agentic AI will make our lives easier
The year 2024 was a time of big and rapid progress for the Artificial Intelligence (AI) industry. So far, generative AI (生成式人工智能) has been mainly limited to creating text, images and videos, but the next step will be about doing, not just creating, said The Wall Street Journal.
Agentic AI (代理式人工智能) refers to systems which are able to act on their own, set goals, reason and make decisions without a person’s constant intervention. Ilya Sutskever, co-founder of OpenAI, describes them as an innovative (革新的) step forward, allowing AI to take on complex tasks across various industries.
Because they are designed to understand context and your needs, they will be able to order your food or buy those new running shoes. For example, you can buy plane tickets with Google’s new Gemini 2.0. Google DeepMind chief, Demis Hassabis, said last December that 2025 will be the year of AI agents.
While traditional systems offer pre-programmed answers, agentic AI learns about your preferences by researching in depth the subjects that interest you. Just tell it what you need so that it can create a “multi-step research plan” for you.
Once approved, you will receive a report showing you where to find the information you need. Think about the time you will save by not having to spend hours searching for the perfect deal or reservation.
Agentic AI is also set to shine in education. It evaluates students’ strong and weak points, tracks their progress, improves their learning outcomes with adjusted (调整后的) lesson plans and real-time input.
However, Sutskever warns that as the system’s reasoning improves, it can also get harder to control, pointing to how advanced chess engines surprise even the most experienced players time and time again.
He thinks that in the future AI will learn from limited data to provide reliable information, eventually developing self-awareness. This will come with new challenges and opportunities which are still hard for us to imagine.

【答案】One possible version:
Dear chairperson,
I’m writing to share with you how my family celebrated last week’s Dragon Boat Festival in a greener way and what else I can do to go green.
Before the festival, my grandmother made rice dumplings at home. She also taught my mother to make rice dumplings by reusing bamboo leaves. Our family tried to collect boxes for dumplings to make homes for cats around our neighbourhood.
During the Spring Festival, we can stop letting off fireworks to reduce light and noise pollution. Moreover, we can keep empty red packets for next year to save energy.
If we do something, we can make a difference. I’ll encourage people to change by making posters or writing to the government.
I hope my advice is helpful.
Yours,
Li Hua.

A.They always took advice from their mechanic. B.They knew little about the newspaper business.

A.Rude B.Generous C.Hard-working D.Unusual
21.What’s the best title for the text?

3. 信息还原 (本大题共5小题,每小题2分,共10分)
请认真阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,选项中有两项为多余选项。
E.Many self-driving cars need improving.
F.This means fewer traffic jams and better parking space for cars.
G.Self-driving cars have many advantages.
