60. a couple of后面应该跟复数名词,century的复数名词是centuries,故填centuries。
61. 句意:这个英语短语有这个季节的真正含义,没有引起任何混乱。此处考查固定短语lead to导致,是一个固定短语,to是一个介词,故填to。
62. 根据前面句子the English language was traveling across the globe的时态是过去进行时,空格处也应该使用过去进行时,表示当时所处的状态,其构成是was/were doing,故填going。
66. Our life has been greatly improved by the Internet.

Every time your fingers touch your cell phone, they leave behind trace of amounts of chemicals. And each chemical offers clues to you and your activities. By analyzing them, scientists might be able to piece together a story about your recent life, a new study finds.
A molecule(分子)is a group of atoms. It represents the smallest amount of some chemical. Your skin is covered in molecules picked up by everything youˈve touched. With each new thing your skin contacts, you leave behind some small share of what itˈd touched earlier.
Researchers at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) recently analyzed such chemical leftovers on the phones of 39 volunteers. The study was led by biochemist Amina Bouslimani. To explore those residues, the UCSD team wiped the surface of each volunteerˈs phone with a cotton swab. The scientists also swabbed each personˈs right hand. Then the researchers compared the chemicals found on each cell phone.
The scientists discovered as many of the molecules as they could. They then compared these to a database of chemicals. Pieter Dorrestein, a UCSD pharmaceutical chemist, had helped set up that database a few years earlier, which contains various substances, including spices, caffeine and medicines.
Traces of anywhere from hundreds to thousands of different molecules turned up on each phone. The molecules reflected what had been in the body, and what each person had handled before touching the phone. From all these molecules, Bouslimani says, “We could tell if a person is likely female, uses high-end cosmetics, dyes her hair, drinks coffee, prefers beer over wine or likes spicy food.”
Police already use molecular analyses to look for traces of explosives or illegal drugs. To date, Dorrestein says, heˈs never heard of police using phone residues to narrow down behavioral clues to search for a suspect. But detectives might one day use such data to track down someone who left a phone behind at a crime scene.
28.What aspect of the user can we conclude by analyzing the leftovers on the phone?
A. Personality. B. Intelligence. C. Appearance. D. Lifestyle.
29.What was the first thing the researchers had to do for the study?
A. Comparing different chemicals.
B. Hiring volunteers with cell phones.
C. Building a database containing chemicals.
D. Collecting the chemicals from phones.

Enthusiastic travelers may have already heard of “regenerative tourism” along with the idea of sustainability(持续性). Whenever we travel—no matter where or how—we are leaving an impact on the environment and the world surrounding us. While sustainable tourism takes positive steps toward limiting that footprint in order for us to protect environments for future generations, regenerative tourism takes this idea one step further.
Regenerative tourism means “the idea that tourists should leave a place in better condition than it was before”. For example, when visiting a garden, each person plants a tree to further build the environment instead of leaving no trace(痕迹).
In a way, regenerative tourism involves travelers to be active in their acts of sustainability. Another great example of this is any act of clean-up. This is especially popular on major beaches and in parks where thereˈs always rubbish to pick up and waste to remove. While travelers certainly donˈt need to join in a community clean-up while on vacation (unless they want to), the idea of being involved is very much the same.
Joining in regenerative tourism has personal and environmental benefits. Jeffrey Skibins, an associate professor in entertainment and park management, says, “Many tourists report feelings of deep personal satisfaction and a stronger connection to nature. Additionally, conservation(保护)behaviors enable tourists to develop life-long learning around these issues and continue these behaviors at home.”
Regenerative means “to renew and revive”, which is exactly what many travelers are doing to help environments recover. Depending on where one plans to travel, there might be more ways to help than originally realized. By further encouraging damaged environments to be renewed through travel rather than being negatively impacted, we can slowly help to rebuild the worldˈs most beautiful landscapes.
32.What is the aim of regenerative tourism?
A. To further improve the environment.
B. To limit the footprint of human beings.
C. To keep a place in its original condition.
D. To dramatically promote global economy.
33.What does paragraph 3 mainly talk about?
A. Designing a bright future for our life.
B. Taking part in a community clean-up.
C. Renewing our ideas about environments.
D. Getting active in the acts of sustainability.
34.What does Jeffrey Skibins think of regenerative tourism?
A. It makes travelers closely connected.
B. It gives personal satisfaction to travelers.
C. It leaves a short-term effect on tourists.
D. It helps tourists improve their learning ability.
35.Which of the following is the main idea of the text?

C. Conservation behavior enjoys its popularity among households.
D. The idea of sustainability takes root in all enthusiastic travelers.

Why does autumn have two names? According to Merriam-Webster, "autumn" appeared first in English in the 1300s, coming from the Latin word "autumnus". "Autumn" caught on quickly, likely because it replaced the (56) (origin) name—"harvest". As you might imagine, when crops were collected from the fields, calling the season "harvest" might make people (57) (confuse) because "harvest" is also the name for the act (58) (it).
So "autumn" appeared instead of "harvest". Then the term, "autumn", (59) was referred to the season between summer and winter, lasted for a couple of (60) (century). "Fall" as a name for the season came about sometime in the 1500s, a shortened version of the very poetic phrase for "the fall of leaves". The English phrase had true meaning of the season without leading (61) any confusion. Not even a century later, the phrase became a simple word: fall.
Around this same time, the English language was traveling across the globe as Britain expanded, and it was (62) (go) through some changes, as many languages did. This was (63) (particular) true in the American colonies (殖民地). Some English words changed in the US, whether in terms of spelling (64) in terms of general usage.
