专题08 读后续写 主题01 人与自然 Passage 1 (2025高二下·云南文山·期末) It was the last year before I retired my Labrador Retriever, May, from her role as a therapy (治疗) dog. May and I had been volunteering in a shelter that offered support for women and children in need. A young mother and her four-year-old son had come to the shelter where they had stayed for several weeks but the little boy William, hadn’t spoken since their arrival. Every Saturday, May and I would visit and play with the children who were staying in the shelter with their mothers. And, every week, William and his mother would come to watch but never participate. We had tried to engage with William when he first arrived at the shelter, but he never left his mother’s arms. No one was able to talk to him, come near him, or even touch him. William and his mother had been watching us from their regular spot in the corner of the yard far away from everyone. His mother would tell me later that, while they were watching, she heard William softly say “May”. Shocked to hear him speak, she repeated back to him, “Yes, honey, that’s May.” A moment later, he didn’t wander far from her mother, but he did take a few steps away from her, standing by himself as he watched May play with the other children. Two weeks passed, and each time we came, the same thing happened. William would come out to the yard, stand on his own, and watch May with the other children; no words, no playing, just observing. One rainy day, we were unable to play outside, so we held the play session in the arts-and-crafts room. Moments later, the door opened, and William stood there with his mother. He immediately left his mother’s side and went to a small, carpeted area away from all the other children and May. May’s attention turned from the other children to William. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The very next weekend, we saw a change in William again. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Passage 2 (2024高二下·云南昭通·期末) We met Max at the pickup area of Alaska Airlines. A standard poodle (鬈毛狗) born on Valentine’s Day in 2002, he came to us in a small blue box. We had adopted him from a friend, who raised many dogs. We were a sweet little family—me, my husband, and our children, Sophie and Jake. But for years I’d felt as if we wouldn’t really be complete until we had a dog. Also, my husband travelled for some 200 days a year on business, and I knew I’d feel safer with a large animal sleeping by the door. When we opened the box, we saw him. With his curly black hair and intelligent eyes, Max was beautiful. He was so small that he fit into the palm (手掌) of my hand, his big paws (爪子) lapping over the sides. He was also scared. As I pulled him close, I felt his heart pound and wondered if we’d done the right thing, taking him from his mother. But it was too late. Sophie and Jake were already fighting over who would hold him next. Over the following months, we spent endless hours watching Max play with his toy or run around the living room. Like most poodles, he was smart. He mastered house-training quickly and never chewed on our furniture or shoes. He considered himself one of us. Some days after school, I’d find Jake curled up with Max inside his box. When I suggested that my son get out of the dog box, Jake yelled, “Max wants me in here! We’re brothers!” By his first birthday, Max had grown into a 50-pound guard dog. He manned the front door like a soldier, barking fiercely at other dogs walking by. I felt safe with him there, especially when my husband was away. Sometimes, when I was missing my husband a lot, I held Max close. Many years later, my husband passed away. My kids grew up and went to university. They worked in other cities after graduation. Paragraph 1: And then, suddenly, I was alone. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: One Day, I found there was something wrong with Max’s back legs. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 主题02 人与社会 Passage 3 (2025高二下·云南红河·期末) It was a rainy Tuesday. I stood at the bus stop, annoyed at myself for forgetting my umbrella. Just then, Maya - a quiet newcomer from our class - stepped under the small shelter. I’d always wanted to talk to her, but she seemed shy, often drawing in her notebook during class. “Hi,” I said, trying to sound casual. “Rain’s bad, right?” She looked a bit surprised, “Yeah, really bad.” The bus stop was tiny, and the rain was pouring sideways, making our skirts wet. I checked and found the bus was late. When I told Maya the bad news, she glanced at her watch, “If I miss this one, I might not make it home.” Hesitating for a while, she suggested, “We should wait in the store over there. Want to share my umbrella?” I nodded. She smiled and opened her purple umbrella. There were patches (补丁) on it as if someone had fixed it many times. “Sorry, it’s old,” she said. “My grandma gave it to me and purple was her favorite.” “It looks cool,” I replied. We leaned under the umbrella together. Suddenly it flipped (迅速翻转) inside out in the wind and we burst out laughing. When we reached the store, Maya shook off the umbrella and set it onto the stand by the door. Then she walked over, bought two hot chocolates, and handed me one. “My treat,” she said, wiping rain from her face. “For surviving the umbrella drama.” We sat by the window, enjoying drinks and watching the rain. After a pause, I decided to break the silence and asked why she was always drawing in her notebook during class. Her eyes lit up and she pulled it from her bag. “Want to see?” She flipped through a few pages, showing me her pictures inspired by small special things. “You make boring stuff magical,” I said admiringly. She laughed, and for a moment, it felt like we’d known each other longer than just one rainy afternoon. The rain stopped. A distant honk (喇叭声) made us look up. “The bus!” I shouted. We grabbed our things and ran like crazy. The moment we took seats, Maya whispered, “Wait ... where’s my umbrella?” ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The next day, I walked into the classroom and handed the umbrella to Maya. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Passage 4 (2025高二下·云南昆明·期末) In the charming and peaceful town of Harmonyville lived a shy girl named Millie, who often stayed alone. She preferred hiding under the willow tree, reading her favorite book, Adventures of Captain Quibble. While books offered company and comfort, a shadow of loneliness sometimes touched her. One sunny afternoon, a newcomer named Leo approached Millie. Leo had blue eyes and a big smile. He carried a picnic basket filled with sandwiches and strawberry jam. “Can I join you?” Leo asked cheerfully. Millie, though hesitant, nodded quietly, still hiding her face behind her book. Leo began humming (哼着) a pleasant tune. Curiosity drove Millie to peek at (偷看) him from behind her book. Leo, seizing the moment, began telling his experience with naughty squirrels, which were so funny that Millie burst into laughter. It was the first time in a long while that Millie had forgotten about her book and laughed happily! Leo and Millie gradually became best friends. They spent time reading together and sharing countless stories. Leo soon discovered Millie possessed a remarkable gift - storytelling! Her stories drew inspiration from books and their peaceful village life, filled with imagination and a unique power to inspire and comfort. But then, like a stormy cloud on a picnic day, misfortune struck. Mrs. Honeybee, the kindest baker in Harmonyville, broke her ankle. With her unable to bake, the annual Honeybee Fair, the town’s biggest celebration, was threatened to be canceled! Sadness and depression blanketed the town. People gathered to figure out a solution, but no one knew what to do. Just then, Leo looked at Millie. His eyes lit up with hope. “Millie,” he said eagerly, “your stories are truly fantastic! Could you tell us something wonderful and encouraging? Perhaps we could turn the fair into a storytelling event, making it just as special, even without the cakes and candy?” With Leo’s encouragement, the shy girl Millie still hesitated. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Honeybee Fair came without cakes or candy. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 主题03 人与自我 Passage 5 (2025高二下·云南保山·期末) Eva stared at the worn-out running shoes in her hands, their faded laces whispering tales of countless miles. The regional track finals were tomorrow, but a sharp pain spread through her right ankle from a fall during practice. Months of hard training flashed before her: icy mornings, hurt feet, the burning desire to win. She’d trained for months, dreaming of a scholarship. Now, doubt clouded her mind. “Maybe I should quit,” she whispered to the falling sunset. Her brother Leo wheeled his chair closer. An accident two years ago had ended his basketball dreams, yet his smile never faded. “Remember why you run, Eva,” he said gently, placing a rough hand over hers. “It’s not just about medals or scholarships. It’s about keeping your promise, and finishing what you start—that’s true strength.” That night, Eva lay awake, moonlight painting shadows on her ceiling. Leo’s quiet courage echoed in her heart—his persistence of physical training, his determination of never giving up… At dawn, she laced her shoes, deciding to overcome her fear. The stadium was filled with energy. As Eva warmed up, her ankle protested, but Leo’s words anchored her. At the starting line, she glanced at the stands. Leo waved his sign reading “GO ALL OUT!” The gun fired. Eva dashed forward, putting her pain aside. By lap two, she fell behind. Doubt returned—until she noticed Sarah, her fiercest opponent, tripping over ahead. Without thinking, Eva slowed, “Need help?” she asked out of breath, offering a hand. Sarah grasped it, eyes wide with surprise. Together, they regained pace. The crowd roared, moved by the unexpected teamwork. As the finish line neared, Eva’s ankle screamed, but Sarah squeezed her hand. “Now we sprint (冲刺)!” At that moment, Eva’s ankle was in unbearable pain. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ While the crowd was still cheering, Leo wheeled toward Eva with tears in his eyes. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Passage 6 (2025高二下·云南普洱·期末) At the age of 17, Jack was a typical high school student on the surface. He had a group of friends, participated in some school activities, and was an average student academically. However, deep inside, he was in a constant state of confusion and self-doubt. Jack had always been pushed by his parents to follow a certain path. They wanted him to study engineering in college, believing it would lead to a stable and prosperous future. But Jack had a hidden passion for art. He loved to draw and paint, spending countless hours in his room, creating beautiful landscapes and portraits on his canvases. One day, a well-known art competition was announced in the city. The theme was “The True Self”. Jack was immediately drawn to it. This was a chance for him to express himself through his art, to show the world who he really was. But he was extremely hesitant. He knew that if his parents found out he was participating in an art competition, they would be furious. Jack’s best friend, Tom, noticed his inner conflict. “Jack, you have to go for it. This is your chance to discover who you truly are. Don’t let your parents’ expectations hold you back,” Tom encouraged him. With Tom’s words echoing in his mind, Jack decided to secretly enter the competition. He worked day and night on his painting. It was a self-portrait that showed the different sides of his personality — the obedient (顺从的) son on the surface, but beneath that, a passionate artist longing to break free. As the submission (提交) deadline approached, Jack was both excited and terrified. Finally, the day of the submission arrived. Jack carefully wrapped his painting and took it to the competition venue. As he placed his work on the table, he felt a sense of liberation, as if a part of him had finally been set free. A few weeks later, Jack received an email from the competition organizers. His heart skipped a beat as he opened it. The email informed him that his painting had made it to the final round! He was overjoyed, but at the same time, the fear of his parents’ reaction grew stronger. Jack’s excitement disappeared when he realized that the final round required him to show his work in person at a public event. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ On the day of the event, Jack stood in front of the large crowd, holding his painting. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 主题01 人与自然 Passage 7 (2025高二下·云南丽江·期末) The day when jobs were assigned was among the most exciting for every kid in the class. It happened during the first week of the term. On that day, each boy and girl got a task they’d be in charge of for the rest of the school year. As usual, some jobs were more appealing than others, and the children were desperate to land one of the top ones. When distributing the jobs, the teacher considered which pupils had been the most responsible in the past year, and those kids were the most excited for this day. Among them, Lila stood out. She was a gentle and quiet girl. In the previous year, she’d followed the teacher’s directions in a perfect way. All the children knew Lila was the top candidate for the best job: taking care of the class hamster (仓鼠). But this year, there was a huge surprise. Each child got a regular job, like getting the books ready for lessons, announcing the time, cleaning the whiteboard, or looking after one of the classroom pets. However, Lila’s job was totally different. She was given a small jar with some soil and a single ladybug (瓢虫). Even though the teacher insisted this ladybug was quite special, Lila couldn’t help feeling let down. Most of her classmates felt sorry for her, saying it was so unfair that she got that job. Still, Lila, who loved her teacher, decided to show her value by doing the job perfectly. “I’ll make this tiny task something amazing,” Lila told herself. What she didn’t realize was that the teacher had secretly signed her up for a garden insect-raising contest. Lila started researching everything about her little ladybug. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ On the last day of the school year, the teacher rushed into the classroom, full of excitement. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Passage 8 (2025高二下·云南曲靖·期末) Tess swung her legs off the edge of her bed and gazed out of the window, her eyes lighting up at the sight across the lane. Damson, her brown pony (小马) , stood lazily swishing his tail under a tree. Tess and her family moved in their new cottage a week ago. The fields belonged to an older lady called Mrs. Radley, who kept two small ponies. Mrs. Radley had been too happy to have Damson join the herd. ‌“It’s perfect here, isn’t it, Damson?” Tess whispered to her pony, smiling, ‌“I have you by my side and maybe I can make some new friends.” Tess’s hopes were quickly dashed. On her first day at her new school, the other children didn’t seem very interested in her. At lunch, she overheard some girls talking about their ponies and found the courage to join them. ‌“I’ve got a pony, too,” Tess said brightly, her heart racing. ‌“His name is Damson. He’s just across the lane from my house.” The girls turned to look at her. And then they went back to their conversation, as if she hadn’t spoken at all. By the end of the day, feeling more alone than ever, Tess went straight to the yard. Damson’s ears pricked (竖起) forward as she approached, and he gave a soft nicker of greeting. ‌“At least you’re happy to see me,” she smiled for the first time all day, touching his smooth and soft nose. She grabbed a brush and began grooming him, letting her thoughts spill out like water from a tap. ‌“School was awful today, Damson. The kids don’t like me. What if I never make any new friends?” Damson twitched (抽动) his ears as if he were listening, and Tess felt a tiny bit better just saying the words out loud. In the following week, Tess spent her days sitting in the corner of the classroom, alone on the bus, or in the library, and spent her afternoons sobbing beside Damson as she unburdened her worries about fitting in. On Friday evening, as Tess sat on her bed staring out at the darkening fields, her mum walked in. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The following Saturday, Tess rode Damson to the Pony Club where training courses took place. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Passage 9 (2024高二下·云南昆明·期末) Caitlyn stepped into the warm and wet sands. The white waves raced over her feet and up her legs and then pulled back again. Caitlyn was on vacation with her family in a nearby coastal town, and she loved playing in the ocean water. “Ouch!” cried the girl, as her foot stepped on something hard. She looked down and it was a large shell (贝壳). Caitlyn bent down to pick it up. It was a pretty pink shell with points and an opening that looked like a horn (号). She held it up to her ear, hoping to hear the whooshing sound (呼啸声). Instead, she heard something quite different. “Hey kid! Want to hear a joke?” Caitlyn nearly dropped the shell. Holding it back up to her ear, she tried again. “Why don’t fish play basketball?” the shell asked. “I... I don’t know,” Caitlyn whispered. “Because they are afraid of the net! Ha, ha!” laughed the shell. Caitlyn looked around to see if anyone was looking at her. Nobody was. “That’s, uh, funny,” she replied. She didn’t really know what was going on. “Why don’t oysters (蚌) share their pearls?” It seemed to be waiting for a reply. “Uh, I’m not sure.” Caitlyn said. Was she dreaming? The shell answered its own joke. “Because they’re ‘shellfish’! Ha, ha!” The girl laughed. On and on the shell went, being silly and making jokes. Caitlyn sat in the shallow water and listened for an hour. When her mother called to her, saying it was time to go, the girl laid the shell gently on the sands. She promised to come back the next day. And she did. On the last day of her vacation, Caitlyn decided she couldn’t leave the shell behind. “You’re coming home with me,” she said to the pretty shell. She thought it would be happy. “My home is in the ocean,” it replied, without any laughter in its voice. But Caitlyn couldn’t bear to go home without it. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Gently, she lowered it back under the water. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Passage 10 (2023高二下·云南玉溪·期末) When Sammy moved into her new house, she was excited to have a backyard where she could spend time outside. But when she went out to explore, she found that the yard was in such a mess. Weeds had taken over, and there were piles of trash and worn out toys everywhere. At first, Sammy was discouraged. She had always dreamed of having a beautiful garden, but now it seemed like an impossible task. But then she remembered something her grandmother had told her: “With a little elbow grease and some determination, anything is possible.” So Sammy set to work, She started by picking up all the trash and broken items, and then she began pulling weeds. It was hard work, and she got blisters (水疱) on her hands from holding the hoe (锄头) so tightly, but she persevered. As she worked, Sammy started to notice things around her that she hadn’t seen before. A bird’s nest tucked away in a corner, a patch of bright yellow flowers peeking through the grass. She felt a sense of pride as she worked knowing that with each weed she pulled, she was one step closer to her dream garden. One afternoon, as she was digging in the dirt, Sammy unearthed a small object. It was shiny and smooth, and at first, she thought it was just a rock. But as she cleaned it off, she saw that it was a small statue of a fairy (小精灵). Sammy was shocked. She had always loved stories about fairies and magical creatures, and finding this statue made her feel like she was part of a fairy tale herself. She put the statue on a rock in the middle of her garden, and suddenly everything looked different. The weeds and ruins weren’t just obstacles to overcome; they were challenges to be conquered on her path to creating a magical building. As the days passed, Sammy’s garden began to take shape. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ A group of pretty fairies had gathered around her statue, dancing and singing in the moonlight. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 主题02 人与社会 Passage 11 (2025高二下·云南昭通·期末) Laura Mulvihill, a volunteer at the community center, felt the ride was probably very unusual when she picked up 89-year-old Ronald Dembner from the Veteran’s Hospital in Henry County, Georgia. It was obvious that he was struggling and in bad shape. But it wasn’t until they arrived at his home that her worst doubts were confirmed. Expecting to be greeted by family members, she was greeted by something out of a nightmare (噩梦) episode of Hoarders instead. Mr. Ronald’s home was covered with rubbish. The kitchen was crowded with old, dirty dishes and leftovers. The carpets were smelly and worn, with visible tracks of dirt. The walls were covered with cobwebs (蜘蛛网) in the corners. To make the situation worse, the room smelt absolutely terrible, and there was no railing (扶手) on the stairs. Hardly could anyone imagine that a man should live in such a poor condition. After talking with Mr. Ronald, Mulvihill learned that all of Ronald’s family members had passed away, he had no one to assist him. Even the home care nurses had stopped coming to visit as a result of the extremely awful living conditions. He was completely alone, except for his dog, Homer, who had taken to pooping (排便) in the house. Although he was unable to clean up the house by himself, he didn’t dare to reach out for help, for fear of being forced to a nursing home and losing his dog. Horrified by what she witnessed, Mulvihill decided to take matters into her own hands. She knew it would take a team to make things right, so she called her friends and family members one by one and told them about the situation. Luckily, she found 10 warm-hearted people offering to help. The team was eventually formed. The team of volunteers came forward to help, with a desire to make a difference. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Seeing the post from the Internet, more people joined in, donating their time and resources. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Passage 12 (2025高二下·云南昭通·期末) One winter evening, Bryan was driving home on a country road. His heart was heavy with worries. The factory was closed, and he had been out of work for months. His mind raced with anxiety as he thought of his wife, who was due to give birth soon. How would he pay for the hospital bills? As Bryan drove, he saw an old lady waving her right hand. So he quickly pulled over in front of her car, approached and asked, “Can I help you?” The old lady replied her car broke down and that she had been waiting for help for several hours. Bryan knew that chill of helplessness. He reassured her, “I’m here to help you, Madam. Wait in the car where it’s warm. My name is Bryan.” The old lady had a flat tire. Without hesitation, Bryan crawled (爬) under the car to fix the jack (千斤顶). After some effort, he managed to change the tire. His hands were dirty and he got hurt, but he felt good, knowing he had helped someone in need. As he finished his work, she offered to pay him. But Bryan refused. He told her, “If you want to repay me, help someone else in need and think of me.” The old lady drove off, touched by Bryan’s kindness. A few miles down the road, she stopped at a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. A waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile which couldn’t erase even standing for the whole day. While eating, the old lady chatted with the waitress and learned that she was nearly eight months pregnant (怀孕的). She hadn’t earned enough money for her coming delivery in hospital. Worse still, her husband was out of work. Finishing the meal, the old lady remembered Bryan. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ With the note and money left by the lady, the waitress was lost in thought. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Passage 13 (2024高二下·云南保山·期末) This is an unforgettable experience which impressed me most. I’d name it “ A Taxi Ride I’ll Never Forget“. Here comes the story. About ten years ago, I drove a taxi for a living. One night I went to pick up a passenger at2: 30 am, when I arrived to collect, the building was dark except for a single light in a ground floor window. Often, many drivers would just honk (按喇叭) once or twice, wait a short minute, then drive away. But I had seen too many needy people who depended on taxis as their only means of transportation. Unless a real danger, I always went to the door to collect the passenger. It might be someone who needed my assistance. Would I not want a driver to do the same if my father or mother had called for a taxi? So I walked to the door and knocked.  “Just a minute”, answered a weak and elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across the floor. After a long wait, the door opened. A small woman in her 80’s stood before me. Wearing a long dress and a black hat, she looked like somebody out of a 1940s movie. By her side was a small suitcase. “Would you carry my bag out to the car?” she said. I took the suitcase to the taxi, then returned to assist the woman. She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the taxi. She kept thanking me for my kindness. “It’s nothing”, I told her. “I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother treated.” “Oh, you’re such a good man,” she said. When we got in the taxi, she gave me an address, and then asked, “Could you drive through downtown?” “It’s not the shortest way,” I answered quickly. “Oh, I don’t mind,” she said, “I’m in no hurry. I’m on my way to a hospice (临终医院).” I looked in the rear-view mirror (后视镜). Her eyes were shining with tears. “I don’t have any family left,” she continued. “The doctor says I don’t have very long.” I quietly reached over and shut off the meter (里程器). “What route would you like me to take?” I asked. 注意:1.写作词数应为150 左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 For the next two hours, we drove through the city. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ “How much do I owe you?” she asked , reaching into her purse. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Passage 14 (2024高二下·云南大理·期末) Ari was and his parents lived on a large island called Iceland. The village where they lived was a fishing village along the green, winding coastline, and Ari often wondered what lay beyond the horizon (地平线). He was so desperate to leave there and enjoy the splendid world outside but his parents were concerned about his safety. The days were long and cold, and he spent many hours of silence in his tiny cottage thinking about what life would be like in a warm, sunny place. “I shall find a true friend far away from here,” Ari thought, and he began writing a letter. He described himself as a loner who had few visitors, yet he had a strong of curiosity. It was his hope to find true friendship with someone who understood his sadness. For days, Ari poured his soul and innermost thoughts into the letter. Then he rolled the paper, placed it into a bottle, and sealed (密封) it tightly. At high tide, Ari cast the bottle out into the sea and wished upon the brightest star that a true friend would find the letter. A year later, many cold nights after shaking his message into the sea, Ari received a letter in the mail. He had no idea who would be writing him, but with joy, he opened the envelope. Dear Ari, I found your simple but lovely letter. Imagine my surprise when your little bottle from so far away washed up on my shore. I, too, live on an island called Sardinia. My island is warm and filled with mountains, clear white beaches, and green waters. Now that you have found a friend far away, I do hope that you will write and tell me more about your life and people. Your new friend, Renata For three years, Ari and Renata exchanged letters. They shared secrets about their villages and wrote about their festivals, music and their favorite foods. They described their imagination of the outside world. Ari couldn't hide his eagerness to visit Sardinia any longer. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150个左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Finally, Ari determined to win his parents’ support. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Without telling Renata, Ari set out by ship to meet his best friend in person. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Passage 15 (2024高二下·云南昭通·期末) She was six years old when I met her on the beach near where I live. I drive to this beach whenever the world begins to close in on me. She was building a sandcastle and looked up, her eyes as blue as the sea. “Hello,” she said. I answered with a nod, not really in the mood to bother with a small child. I was depressed: my life seemed completely out of balance. “What’s your name?” She wouldn't give up. “Ruth,” I answered. “Mine’s Wendy....I’m six.” She giggled, “Nice to meet you, Miss Ruth. Do you want to play? Maybe we can build something together. You’ll be happy!” She looked at me eagerly, waiting for my answer. I just couldn’t refuse this lovely creature. I asked her: “Why don’t you go to school?” “I don’t go to school. Mommy says we’re on vacation.” She chattered little girl talk as we built the sandcastle. When I left for home, Wendy said it had been a happy day. Feeling surprisingly better, I smiled at her and agreed. She pointed toward a row of summer cottages and told me she lives there. Three weeks later, I rushed to my beach in a state of near panic. I was in no mood to even greet Wendy when Wendy caught up with me, “I’d rather be alone today.” She seems unusually pale and out of breath. “Why?” she asked. I turned to her and shouted, “Because my mother died!” “Oh,” she said quietly, “then this is a bad day.” “Yes, go away!” “Did it hurt when she died?” “Of course!” I shouted. She didn’t say anything more, tears rolling down her face. A month or so after that, when I went to the beach, she wasn’t there. Feeling guilty, ashamed and admitting to myself I missed her, I went up to the cottage and knocked at the door. 注意:1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 A drawn-looking(憔悴的) young woman with red and swollen eyes opened the door. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ “She left something for you,” her mum’s voice trembled and handed me an envelop. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Passage 16 (2023高二下·云南曲靖·期末) A little girl often lived alone in her house. Her mother was killed in a traffic accident and her father used to work far away. A maid(女仆)used to stay in the house with her in the morning and evening, but she used to live alone in her house during the day. One day an elderly postman knocked on the door and said,“Take the letter.”As soon as he said this, a little girl’s voice echoed(回响) from inside,“I am coming now. Please wait.”But even after 5 minutes no one came. The postman again said,“Is there anyone who will take the letter? I have to go to many more places.” The girl replied,“Uncle, if you are in a hurry, please put the letter under the door. I am coming, but it will take some more time.” The old postman replied,“No, I am waiting. It is a registered letter. So someone’s signature is also needed.” After about 10 minutes, the door opened. Obviously, the postman was a bit angry about the delay. He was about to shout at the girl when he was shocked to see that in front of him was a little girl without legs. The postman quietly gave the letter and took her signature and left. In a month or two whenever her mail came, the postman would knock and call for the girl and then wait patiently at the door. Gradually, interaction and attachment grew between them. The little girl noticed that the postman used to come barefoot to deliver mails. Rainy season came., One day when the postman left after giving a letter to the girl; hisfoot prints were left on the wet soil. The little girl came out with a paper and put it on the print and took down the picture of his feet. The next day, she asked the maid to get shoes of that size and keep them in house. We weren’t poor by most standards, but things were definitely hard for us. My parents never shared their financial worries, choosing instead to let us have a carefree childhood. But I knew, as children often do, that there were times they went without and that certain things my friends had wouldn’t be available to me. Back in those days, hot lunch was a luxury for the wealthier kids, and hot-lunch buyers sat separately from the students who brought cold lunch. My siblings and I brought lunch from home every day: thick slices of homemade bread, three cookies and a small apple. We would look on longingly as the rich kids proudly sat down with their steaming plates of fried chicken cold milk, peaches and a slice of cake. I never said anything, but my first grade teacher, Mrs. Caruso, must have seen the desire in my eyes. One day she quietly pressed a note into my hand and whispered, “Give this to your mother.” I hurried home and gave my mom the note. She read it and smiled. “Well, Mrs. Caruso said because of all your hard work, she wants to buy your lunch tomorrow.” The next day, I proudly carried my tray of chicken across the cafeteria and took my seat at the hot-lunch table. Honestly, the food wasn’t as great as I had imagined, but I was pleased to be there and felt honored to be a part of the group. One rainy day, Mrs. Caruso asked me to stay after school. My stomach instantly dropped to the floor. Did she know I hadn’t finished my math sheet? After the other students had left, Mrs. Caruso said she was going to finish her work and then drive me home. It was raining, and she knew I had a long walk. We pulled up to my house and she got out, putting a few bags on the porch. “Tell your mom I had a few extra things she might want,” she said. Then she drove away. Inside the bags were clothes, toys, and books. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 That summer day, Mrs. Caruso invited me and my siblings to her home. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The experiences made a great difference in my life. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Passage 18 (2023高二下·云南大理·期末) Christmas came, and Stewart gathered the children at the dinner table. He tried to prepare all of their favorite food because he had no extra money for individual gifts. “Lucy, I baked your favorite apple pie. Sean, I made sure to get some baked spaghetti (意大利面条) from the store. And Gregory, I baked a whole chicken. Your favorites! Merry Christmas, my sweet children!” Stewart told them. After eating dinner together, Stewart took his three kids outside to make a huge snowman and had a snowball fight. It was a family tradition that Stewart wanted to keep alive even though his wife was no longer with them. Many years passed, and Stewart’s kids all had families of their own. And they were all too busy to visit Stewart, although they didn’t live far away. So Stewart spent most of the year alone. Stewart would often sit in a wheelchair and look at old photos of his family. He came across one particular photo where he and his children were making a snowman outside the house. They were happy, and the lovely smiles on his children’s faces were priceless. Stewart waited for his children to come on Christmas Eve, looking out of the window. “How I wish...” he said to himself as he watched others having fun together in their backyards. Stewart was sure that each member of his family had forgotten his invitation once again until he heard a short knock on the door. “Who is it?” Stewart asked. “Hi, Grandpa,” a small boy said after he opened the door. “Tim! What a surprise!” Stewart smiled. “Is it just you? How did you get here alone?!” Tim nodded sadly, “Even on Christmas Eve, my parents don’t notice me. They’re too busy with work. I know how much you love Christmas, Grandpa, so I walked here.” Stewart wanted to cheer his grandson up, so he went to get dressed. “Well, you and I will have a happy Christmas together,” Stewart told Tim. “Kids deserve to play in the snow every Christmas, ”he added. 注意:1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Both of them went outside even though Stewart could not stay outdoors for a long time. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ To Stewart’s surprise, his children and grandchildren were all around him when he woke up in hospital. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Passage 19 (2023高二下·云南保山·期末) I was at Lens Crafters waiting to pick up my new pair of glasses. A mom as well as her little girl walked in. The mom was probably in her late twenties and the little girl was about five. Both of their clothes were badly dated to say the least. It was obvious that the family’s financial windfall (意外之财) had not yet arrived. I overheard a comment the comment made to the saleslady that she was in between job 1 and job 2 of the day, so she didn't have a lot of time. The little girl and the mom proceeded around the store looking at these little tiny frames for the girl’s face. The saleslady was helping them try on frames and pulling aside her favorites. You knew how some little kids actually looked ten times cuter in glasses, and so the little girl did. She found these cute little frames with a butterfly on them. She was so happy, smiling from ear to ear while she looked at herself in the mirror. The saleslady rang the glasses up on the till (收银台). The mom pulled out a coupon (优惠券), and the saleslady stared blankly at the coupon. She then explained that for some reason this coupon could not be used, pointing out the miniscule (极小的) words printed at the bottom. Then the mom chatted back and forth for a bit with the saleslady and then finally leaned down to her daughter and explained to her that there would be no glasses that day, maybe next month she said. The little girl’s eyes started to tear up. The mom leaned a little closer and told her it would be OK and that she needed a little more time to save up for them. I had fallen behind in most of my household chores. There was dust under the sofa, and the bathrooms were in desperate need of a scrub (擦洗). I hadn’t been to the grocery store for two weeks and we were out of pretty much everything. The fridge stood there, looking sad and empty, with nothing but a half-empty bottle of ketchup and some lettuce that had long lost its freshness. The laundry basket was overflowing, and the house was in desperate need of a thorough clean. All of that, and my three children were on a break from school. Max and Sam were bouncing off the walls with excitement, thrilled to be home, and asked me repeatedly how we would spend their day off. Julia’s eyes sparkled with anticipation, dreaming of trips to the park or movies. They were going to be disappointed with my plans for the day. There was absolutely nothing fun about them. Just a long list of boring chores that seemed to stretch on forever. At that time, my youngest daughter, Julia, walked toward me, her bottom lip quivering (颤抖) slightly. “Mommy, I thought we were going to do something fun. What’s your plan?” she asked. “I am sorry that I can’t offer you anything exciting this morning, for I don’t have time to go shopping,” I said, feeling like the worst mom in the world. “Can you play a game with us?” she begged, her big brown eyes filled with pleading. “I know it is your day off, but it is not Mommy’s day off. Mommy has a lot of things to do now and I don’t think I have time to play with you,” I explained, a feeling of guilt tugging at my heart (涌上心头). I sighed. I really didn’t have time to play. I desperately needed to get some work done. But then I had an excellent idea. “Can we play grocery?” I suggested, half-joking. To my surprise, the kids were thrilled with this suggestion. Their faces lit up, and they immediately started discussing their roles in the “game”. 注意:1.续写词数应为150个左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Shortly after, we made the trip to the grocery store. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Once the kids got home, they decided to turn our house-cleaning into another game. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 主题03 人与自我 Passage 21 (2025高二下·云南楚雄·期末) Ethan tightened the laces (鞋带) on his running shoes, his heart pounding with excitement. The next day would be the city’s annual Youth Marathon, and he had trained for months, rain or shine, dreaming of crossing the finish line with a medal shining around his neck. As he carefully packed his race bag-shoes, energy bars, and his lucky wristband-he heard the familiar sound of the front door opening. His grandmother, who had come to live with them after a bad illness, struggled to carry a heavy grocery bag into the house. Ethan froze. From the kitchen, he caught a glimpse of her thin body bending awkwardly under the weight. Setting his bag aside, he hurried over and grabbed the bag from her. “Grandma, you should have called me!” he said, worry flashing across his face. Grandma smiled weakly. “You’re busy preparing for your big day, sweetheart. I didn’t want to bother you.” Ethan felt a wave of guilt. He helped her settle into her favorite armchair, noticing for the first time how tired she looked. His mother came out from the kitchen, wiping her hands on a towel, and whispered, “She insisted on making your favorite dishes for after the race.” Later that night. Ethan lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. Excitement for the marathon was mixed with worry. His grandmother had been independent all her life, but he could see she was struggling. Morning came with a cool autumn breeze. The streets were filled with energy as young runners gathered at the starting line, colorful banners waving overhead. Ethan stood among them, heart racing, his number proudly attached to his shirt. The mayor stepped onto the stage, microphone in hand. “Welcome, runners! Today, you race not just for yourselves, but for the spirit of this city. Let’s make it a day to remember!” The starter raised the flag. Ethan crouched (蹲伏), muscles ready like springs. But then, his phone buzzed violently in his pocket. Frowning, he pulled it out. It was a text from his mother: Emergency. Grandma fell. At home. The flag dropped. The crowd surged (涌动) forward. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, “Why would anyone bring home all his books on Friday? He must really be a nerd(书呆子).” I had quite a lot of plans on weekends, like parties and football games with my friends, so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw him fall down and his glasses go flying, with all the books landing on the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up, and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him. So I jogged over to him, and as he crawled around looking for his glasses, I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, he looked at me and said, “Hey, thanks!” There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude. I helped him pick up his books and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so we walked home together, talking all the way, and I carried half of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play football on Saturday with me and my friends. He said yes. We hung out all weekend, and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him. And my friends thought the same of him. Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends. As we would graduate soon, Kyle was valedictorian (致告别辞的学生代表) of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. He opened the fridge and grabbed one bottle of drink from dozens of various caffeinated drinks. Like some other young people, Kevin was in a pattern of unhealthy living. He often stayed up late, accompanied with late-night snacks like ice cream and pizza. He rushed through his day with skipping breakfast or eating on the go. He was feeding primarily on high-fat, high-calorie foods like fast food, sugary snacks, and caffeinated drinks. When back from work, Kevin spent most of his free time sitting on the sofa, browsing smartphone screen, rarely engaging in physical activity, which caused him overweight. One evening, as he scrolled through his phone on the sofa as usual, a piece of news caught his eye. It was about a 5-year-old girl named Melody, who was battling leukemia (白血病) and in desperate need of a bone marrow (骨髓) transplant. The story tugged at Kevin’s heartstrings, and he felt a sudden urge to help. The next day, he went to the hospital and asked for getting tested for bone marrow compatibility (相容). To his delight, the test results showed that he was a perfect match for Melody. Excitement filled his heart as he prepared for the donation process. However, during his following medical check-ups, Kevin was informed that he had fatty liver (脂肪肝), meaning that he was unqualified to be a suitable donor at present unless his condition improved. The thought of little Melody lying in a hospital bed, waiting for a life-saving transplant, drove Kevin into action. He resolved to make significant changes to his lifestyle to improve his health and become a suitable donor. He began by adopting a strict exercise plan, incorporating daily runs into his routine. His diet underwent a transformation as well, with healthier food choices replacing his previous ones. He also made a conscious effort to get more sleep and reduce his screen time. 注意: 1. 续写词数应为150个左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Day by day, Kevin’s commitment to his new lifestyle began to show results. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The experience significantly impacted Kevin. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Passage 24 (2024高二下·云南玉溪·期末) My mother always said, “Can’t never could until he tried.” She recited it to me many times during my childhood. It was like waving a red flag in front of a bull. Angry as it was, it took root. I strongly believe that I will never be able to do something unless I try. Last year, my husband was downsized out of his job, leaving us with a single income—mine. We were a two-income family with two children to support. Just when it looked like things couldn’t get worse, I lost my job too. While my husband was making calls for another job, I stayed at home and did my best to figure out how to make the most of every cent. When I tried to get some milk from the refrigerator, I found the milk had gone bad. What was wrong? It took me some time to make it out. The refrigerator didn’t work. It was often difficult for me to have a hopeful and positive attitude at that time. Anxious about our situation, I tried to think of something that I could do to earn some money. Even a little would help. Maybe we could at least get the refrigerator repaired. But what could I do? I began searching the want ads, applying for anything that I was even able to do. I had lunch with a former coworker who insisted that I would be great at teaching computer classes. I had used word processing software at my former job and was definitely an expert. I used to help my friends learn how to use computer software. I was considerate and easygoing and I was good at describing things patiently. Once my friends had difficulty in using the computer, I would be willing to help—guiding them through, answering all their questions. From their facial expressions, I could tell they loved me. Was it possible that people would actually pay me to teach them? I suddenly remembered my mother’s words “Can’t never could until he tried”. 注意:1. 续写词数应为150左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡相应位置作答。 I wasn’t sure where to start, but finally I got an idea. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Fortunately, I made enough money to do the things I wanted. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2 / 58 1 / 58 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 专题08 读后续写 参考范文 Passage 1 【答案】 May’s attention turned from the other children to William. She slowly walked over to him, her tail wagging gently. William, initially hesitant, didn’t move away this time. May lay down beside him, her head resting on the carpet, and looked up at him with her warm, brown eyes. William stared back, his curiosity getting the better of him. After a moment, he reached out a tiny hand and touched May’s ear. A soft smile appeared on his face, and for the first time, he seemed relaxed in the presence of others. The very next weekend, we saw a change in William again. As soon as May and I entered the yard, William ran towards us, his eyes shining with excitement. He grabbed his mother’s hand and pulled her along, eager to join the play. This time, he didn’t stand on the sidelines; he actively participated in the games, laughing and shouting with the other children. His mother watched in disbelief, tears streaming down her face. William had finally opened up, and it was all thanks to May, the therapy dog who had shown him love and acceptance without judgment. Passage 2 【答案】And then, suddenly, I was alone. I had loved all my family wildly, all of them, and they had left. Max became my only companion and brought me a great sense of security. He followed me from room to room, sometimes staying so close that I nearly tripped over him. However, as time went on, Max was getting older. Gradually, he lost his hearing and sight. He grew less happy and less active on our walks. Paragraph 2: One day, I found there was something wrong with Max’s back legs. A few days later, he went into heart failure. Jake flew home to be there when we said goodbye. By then, Max had stopped eating and drinking. All he could do was lie on the floor with his eyes closed. So Jake bought a sleeping mat and lay beside Max all night. I took a picture: a boy and his dog. A boy and his brother. Passage 3 【答案】     The moment we took seats, Maya whispered, “Wait ... where’s my umbrella?” We’d left it at the store! My heart sank as I remembered. “I’ll go back for it after school,” I promised. Maya nodded, looking worried. After school, I hurried to the store and found the umbrella right where we’d left it, safe and sound. Without hesitation, I picked it up and went home, expecting to see Maya the next day.      The next day, I walked into the classroom and handed the umbrella to Maya. “Here it is,” I said, smiling. “I promised I’d bring it back, didn’t I?” Maya’s face lit up with relief as she clutched it tightly. Maya’s eyes sparkled with gratitude. “Thank you,” she whispered. From that day on, our friendship blossomed. We did everything that close friends did. We often shared laughters and secrets, just like we had on that rainy Tuesday, all thanks to a purple umbrella and a promise kept. Passage 4 【答案】One possible version: With Leo’s encouragement, the shy girl Millie still hesitated. She looked down at her shoes and whispered, “What if no one likes my stories?” Leo gave her a warm smile and said, “But I love your stories, and so will everyone else.” Encouraged by his belief in her, Millie slowly nodded. That evening, she sat up late writing a special story just for the fair — one about a brave little bee who saved the day with kindness and courage. Though nervous, she began to feel a spark of excitement. On the day of the event, Leo helped set up a cozy storytelling corner under the big oak tree. As people gathered, Millie took a deep breath, stepped forward, and began to speak. The Honeybee Fair came without cakes or candy. Instead, the town square was filled with laughter, imagination, and warmth. Millie’s voice carried through the crowd as she told her story with growing confidence. Children sat wide-eyed while adults smiled, touched by the magic of her words. Inspired by her bravery, other kids also shared their own tales. The fair became a celebration of creativity and community spirit. In the end, Mrs. Honeybee, sitting in a chair with her leg raised, wiped a tear and said, “This is the sweetest fair yet.” And from that day on, Millie knew she had a voice worth sharing. Passage 5 【答案】参考范文 At that moment, Eva’s ankle was in unbearable pain. The pain in her entire leg was so severe that it was almost impossible to walk, but Sarah’s hand remained locked in hers—a lifeline formed in unexpected friendship. Around them, all the audiences were giving their all to cheer for them. Eva could hear Sarah’s labored breathing matching hers, two wounded warriors breaking the limits of competition.“Together!” Sarah shouted desperately. At that moment, they seemed to have gained a magic power. The two crossed the finishing line shoulder to shoulder and then collapsed onto the track together. At length, the electronic board flashed “1st Place—Tie”. While the crowd was still cheering, Leo wheeled toward Eva with tears in his eyes. He hugged her tightly and murmured, “You didn’t just finish the race, Eva, you redefined strength.”, with his voice filled with pride. Before Eva could speak, Sarah approached with the gold medal that was especially shining. “Without you, I’d never have finished the race, my hero.” she said thankfully, extending a trembling hand. Later, an exciting piece of news came: Three universities wanted both Eva and Sarah for free, not just for speed, but for qualities. Her ankle painful but her soul bright, Eva understood from this experience: when you lift others, you are lifted at the same time. Passage 6 【答案】Jack’s excitement disappeared when he realized that the final round required him to show his work in person at a public event. The thought of his parents possibly discovering his secret filled him with dread. What if they attended the event and saw his painting? Would they understand, or would they be disappointed in him? For days, Jack struggled with this dilemma. Tom urged him not to give up, saying, “This is your moment to be honest with yourself and others.” After much internal conflict, Jack decided to face his fears. On the day of the event, Jack stood in front of the large crowd, holding his painting. His hands trembled as he unveiled the self-portrait. Murmurs of admiration rippled through the audience. Suddenly, he spotted his parents at the back of the room, their eyes fixed on his artwork. Jack’s heart pounded, but he continued to share the story behind the painting, speaking of his struggle to reconcile his parents’ expectations with his own dreams. When he finished, there was a moment of silence before the crowd broke into warm applause. His parents walked forward, and his mother said softly, “We had no idea how much this means to you.” His father nodded, adding, “Your courage to pursue your truth is what truly matters.” Passage 7 【答案】 Lila started researching everything about her little ladybug. She checked library books and online articles, learning that ladybugs love eating aphids and need fresh leaves. Every day, she carefully changed the soil, added new leaves, and kept the jar in a warm, sunny spot. To her joy, the ladybug laid eggs after a few weeks, and soon tiny larvae hatched. Lila watched them grow, cleaning the jar regularly and recording their progress in a notebook. Her classmates were amazed as the jar filled with more ladybugs. On the last day of the school year, the teacher rushed into the classroom, full of excitement. “We won!” she announced, holding up a trophy. “Lila’s ladybug project took first place in the garden contest!” The class cheered, and Lila’s eyes shone with pride. The teacher explained she’d given Lila the job because she knew Lila’s responsibility would make her succeed. “Small tasks done with love can become amazing,” the teacher said. Lila smiled, realizing her “simple” job had turned into the best adventure. There’s a local Pony Club that Mrs. Radley mentioned. They run regular training and events. Maybe you can find some happiness there.” The following Saturday, Tess rode Damson to the Pony Club where training courses took place. The yard buzzed with excitement as children on ponies of all shapes and sizes gathered in the area. Tess felt nervous at first, but the instructor welcomed her warmly. As the lesson began, Tess quickly realized she wasn’t alone. One of the girls from her school, Ruby, was riding a grey pony. During the training, they became more familiar with each other. By the end of the lesson, Tess was laughing along with Ruby and other girls as they cooled off their ponies. For the first time since moving, she felt a sense of belonging. Passage 9 【答案】范文 But Caitlyn couldn’t bear to go home without it. Despite the shell’s protest, she carefully wrapped it in a soft cloth and placed it in her bag, determined to find a way to make it happy. As they drove back home, Caitlyn brainstormed ideas on how to create a suitable environment for her new friend. She imagined a large aquarium filled with saltwater and colorful coral, where the shell could feel at home. Gently, she lowered it back under the water. As they arrived at the beach on the last day of their vacation, Caitlyn realized that taking the shell away was not the right thing to do. With a heavy heart, she walked back to the spot where she had found it and knelt down. The shell seemed to sense her intention, and its voice was filled with a sense of relief when it spoke again. “Thank you for understanding,” it said softly. Caitlyn carefully placed the shell back in the shallow water, watching as it settled into the sand. As she turned to leave, she felt a sense of peace knowing that she had made the right decision. We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived when they had first been married. She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl. Sometimes she would have me slow in front of a particular building or corner and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing. We drove in silence to the address and soon we pulled up at a small house. “How much do I owe you?” she asked, reaching into her purse. “Nothing,” I said. “You have to make a living,” she answered. “There are other passengers,” I responded. Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug. She held on to me tightly. “You gave an old woman a little moment of joy, ”she said. “Thank you.” There was nothing more to say. I squeezed her hand once, then walked out into the dim morning light. Behind me, I could hear the door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life. On the way home, I lost in thought. I do not think that I have ever done anything in my life that was any more important. Passage 14 【答案】Finally, Ari determined to win his parents’ support. He sat down with them one evening, the fire crackling in the hearth as the wind howled outside. With a trembling heart, Ari unfolded his plans, speaking of his dreams and the friendship that had blossomed across the sea. He showed them the letters from Renata, the words filled with warmth and understanding. Ari’s parents, moved by his passion and the genuine connection he had made, slowly began to see the world beyond their shores through their son’s eyes. After a long silence, they nodded, granting him their blessing to embark on his journey. Without telling Renata, Ari set out by ship to meet his best friend in person. The sea was vast and the journey long, but his heart was filled with anticipation. As the ship sailed towards Sardinia, Ari could almost taste the warmth of the sun on his skin and feel the sand between his toes. Upon his arrival, he found the island even more beautiful than described in Renata’s letters. The vibrant colors, the laughter of the people, and the aroma of delicious food filled the air. With a mix of excitement and nervousness, he walked the familiar streets Renata had painted with her words, until finally, he stood before her door. The moment they met, it was as if no distance had ever separated them, and their friendship, once confined to letters, came to life in a warm embrace. I missed your little girl and wondered where she was.” “Oh yes, Miss Ruth, please come in. Wendy talked of you so much,” She said in a very low voice, “Wendy died last week because of leukemia...” Struck dumb, I couldn’t believe my ears and couldn’t even breathe, my mind racing for something, anything, to say to this miserable young woman. But I couldn’t force a single word, tears welling up in my eyes. “She left something for you,” her mum’s voice trembled and handed me an envelop. I opened the envelope with blank mind. Inside was a drawing in bright colors: a yellow beach, a blue sea and us. Underneath was carefully printed: BE HAPPY. I took Wendy’s mother in my arms. “I’m so sorry, I’m sorry ...” I muttered over and over, and we wept together. The precious little picture is framed now and hangs in my study. It’s the gift of love. Pleased accepted it.” The postman accepted the box and lovingly put his hand on the girl’s head as if blessing her. After going home, when he opened the box, he was surprised to see there was a pair of shoes in it. His eyes twinkled. The postman couldn’t believe that the little girl was so concerned about him. Passage 20 【答案】Shortly after, we made the trip to the grocery store. The kids helped me push the cart and find items on our list. When it came to choosing toilet paper, they debated over the softness and thickness, each offering their own opinion. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 May’s attention turned from the other children to William. 词汇激活 行为类: ①接近:walk over to/approach ②放松:relax/ease up ③抓住:grab/clutch ④参与:participate/join in 情感类: ①兴高采烈:with excitement/in high spirits ②渴望的:eager/keen ③笑:laugh/giggle 【点睛】[高分句型1] She slowly walked over to him, her tail wagging gently.(运用了独立主格结构) [高分句型2] William had finally opened up, and it was all thanks to May, the therapy dog who had shown him love and acceptance without judgment.(运用了who引导的定语从句) Passage 2 (2024高二下·云南昭通·期末) We met Max at the pickup area of Alaska Airlines. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】And then, suddenly, I was alone. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】     The moment we took seats, Maya whispered, “Wait ... where’s my umbrella?” We’d left it at the store! ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version: With Leo’s encouragement, the shy girl Millie still hesitated. 词汇激活: 行为类 ①熬夜:sat up/stay up/ work late into the night ②向前走:stepped forward/move forward/make one’s way ③坐:sitting/seated 情绪类 ①紧张:nervous /tense ②兴奋:excitement/thrill 【点睛】[高分句型1] Encouraged by his belief in her, Millie slowly nodded.(运用了过去分词短语作状语) [高分句型2] Though nervous, she began to feel a spark of excitement.(though引导让步状语从句的省略) [高分句型3] Millie’s voice carried through the crowd as she told her story with growing confidence.(运用了as引导的时间状语从句) 主题03 人与自我 Passage 5 (2025高二下·云南保山·期末) Eva stared at the worn-out running shoes in her hands, their faded laces whispering tales of countless miles. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】参考范文 At that moment, Eva’s ankle was in unbearable pain. 词汇激活 行为类 ①大叫:shout/scream/yell ②获得:gain/obtain/acquire ③完成: finish/complete/accomplish 情绪类 ①感激地:thankfully/gratefully ②令人兴奋的:exciting/thrilling 【点睛】[高分句型1] The pain in her entire leg was so severe that it was almost impossible to walk,(运用了so...that引导的结果状语从句) [高分句型2] Eva could hear Sarah’s labored breathing matching hers, two wounded warriors breaking the limits of competition. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】Jack’s excitement disappeared when he realized that the final round required him to show his work in person at a public event. His parents walked forward, and his mother said softly, “We had no idea how much this means to you.” His father nodded, adding, “Your courage to pursue your truth is what truly matters.” 词汇激活 行为类 ①发现:discover/ find ②决定做某事:decided to do /was determined to do ③追求:pursue /go after 情绪类 ①恐惧:dread / fear ②温柔地:softly / gently 【点睛】[高分句型1] Tom urged him not to give up, saying, “This is your moment to be honest with yourself and others.”(运用了非谓语动词中的现在分词作状语。) [高分句型2] When he finished, there was a moment of silence before the crowd broke into warm applause.(运用了When引导的时间状语从句。) 主题01 人与自然 Passage 7 (2025高二下·云南丽江·期末) The day when jobs were assigned was among the most exciting for every kid in the class. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 Lila started researching everything about her little ladybug. 词汇激活 行为类: ①添加:add/put in ②领悟:realize/comprehend 情感类: ①喜悦:joy/delight ②令人惊讶的:amazing/awesome 【点睛】[高分句型1] She checked library books and online articles, learning that ladybugs love eating aphids and need fresh leaves.(运用了现在分词短语“作状语) [高分句型2]The teacher explained she’d given Lila the job because she knew Lila’s responsibility would make her succeed.(运用了省略连接词that的宾语从句,以及because引导的原因状语从句) Passage 8 (2025高二下·云南曲靖·期末) Tess swung her legs off the edge of her bed and gazed out of the window, her eyes lighting up at the sight across the lane. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version: On Friday evening, as Tess sat on her bed staring out at the darkening fields, her mum walked in. ‌“Tess?” she began, ‌“I bumped into Mrs. Radley this evening and she said you’ve been talking to Damson about the awful school life.” Tess’s face burned with embarrassment. She wondered how Mrs. Radley had overheard her talking to Damson. Pulling her into a hug, Mum comforted her and put forward a good idea. ‌“What if we found a way for you to meet other horsey kids? There’s a local Pony Club that Mrs. Radley mentioned. They run regular training and events. Maybe you can find some happiness there.” The following Saturday, Tess rode Damson to the Pony Club where training courses took place. The yard buzzed with excitement as children on ponies of all shapes and sizes gathered in the area. Tess felt nervous at first, but the instructor welcomed her warmly. As the lesson began, Tess quickly realized she wasn’t alone. One of the girls from her school, Ruby, was riding a grey pony. During the training, they became more familiar with each other. 词汇激活 行为类 ①想象:imagine/picture ②放置:place/put ③充满:be filled with /be full of 情绪类 ①快乐:happy/glad ②解脱:relief/ liberation 【点睛】[高分句型1] Caitlyn carefully placed the shell back in the shallow water, watching as it settled into the sand. She made up her mind that she will educate her children or even grandchildren with the same words: With a little elbow grease and some determination, anything is possible. 3.词类激活: 行为类: ①看到:see/catch sight of/sth. come into view ②下定决定:make up one’s mind/be determined to do ③教育:educate/teach 情绪类: ①高兴:happy/delightful/pleased/with heart full of happiness ②满意的:satisfied/content/pleased ③疲惫的:exhausted/tired/full of exhausion 【点睛】【高分句型1】She knew that it is the garden that provided the happy moment for her, so she felt satisfied with all the things she had done.(运用了that引导的宾语从句,强调句式和省略了 关系代词的定语从句) 【高分句型2】With the moonlight casting on the garden, she danced and sang with the pretty fairies in her sweet dream, feeling happier than ever.(运用了with的复合结构和现在分词作状语) 主题02 人与社会 Passage 11 (2025高二下·云南昭通·期末) Laura Mulvihill, a volunteer at the community center, felt the ride was probably very unusual when she picked up 89-year-old Ronald Dembner from the Veteran’s Hospital in Henry County, Georgia. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】The team of volunteers came forward to help, with a desire to make a difference. Equipped with brooms and mops, they immediately got down to work. It took them hours to completely clean up the poop of Homer, wash the dirty carpet and build a new railing for the stairs. When they finally put everything in order, the volunteers decided that they would also come up with a plan for further support. They posted the pictures of Mr. Ronald and his newly decorated house on social media, gave a detailed description of the situation and appealed to more people to offer a helping hand. (89词) Seeing the post from the Internet, more people joined in, donating their time and resources. They even organized a schedule to take turns to visit Mr. Ronald weekly, ensuring he had all the support he needed to maintain his home and chasing away his loneliness. The busy and cheerful volunteers moved Mr. Ronald to tears. He couldn’t help but thank them over and over again. Seeing the brand new house and the grateful face of Mr. Ronald, Mulvihill was amazed how her single act of kindness rippled outward and ended up with something remarkable. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】Finishing the meal, the old lady remembered Bryan. A moment later, she reached into her purse and pulled out several bills, along with a note. The note read, “Please accept this gift. Someone once helped me in my time of need, and I hope this will help you and your family. Pass on the kindness when you can.” She carefully left the note and money under the plate before leaving the cafe. Clearing the table, the waitress discovered the note and money. Her eyes were filled with tears after she read the message. With the note and money left by the lady, the waitress was lost in thought. She felt a wave of warmth in her heart and knew that she would also find a way to pass on the kindness she had received. Immediately, she called her husband, Bryan, to share the incredible news. When Bryan heard the story, he realized that his act of kindness was rewarded. From then on, they always tried their best to give others a helping hand. They firmly believed what goes around comes around. 词汇激活 行为类 ①接受:accept/embrace ②帮助:help/assist ③充满:be filled with/be full of ④意识到:realize/be aware of 情绪类 ①难以置信的:incredible/unbelievable ②温暖: warmth/mildness 【点睛】[高分句型1] She felt a wave of warmth in her heart and knew that she would also find a way to pass on the kindness she had received.(运用了that引导的宾语从句以及省略关系代词that/which的定语从句修饰先行词kindness) [高分句型2] When Bryan heard the story, he realized that his act of kindness was rewarded.(运用了when引导的时间状语从句以及that引导的宾语从句) Passage 13 (2024高二下·云南保山·期末) This is an unforgettable experience which impressed me most. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】范文 For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator. 词汇激活 行为类 ①担任:work as/serve as ②关闭:close/shut ③回答:respond/reply 情绪类 ①快乐:joy/happiness ②重要:important/essential 【点睛】[高分句型1] She showed me the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator. 词汇激活 行为类 ①坐下:sit down / take a seat / be seated ②展开:unfold / reveal / disclose ③展示:show / display / present 情绪类 ①颤抖的:trembling / shaking / quivering ②兴奋:excitement / thrill / exhilaration 【点睛】[高分句型1]. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】      A drawn-looking(憔悴的)young woman with red and swollen eyes opened the door. “ Hello ,” I said, “I’m Ruth Peterson. The two simple words speak to me of harmony, courage and undemanding love. 词汇激活 行为类 提起:talk of/speak of 相信:believe/trust 涌出:well up/pour out 情绪类 哭泣:weep/sob 抱歉的:sorry/regretful 【点睛】[高分句型1] But I couldn’t force a single word, tears welling up in my eyes.(运用了独立主格结构) [高分句型2] I missed your little girl and wondered where she was.(运用了where引导宾语从句) Passage 16 (2023高二下·云南曲靖·期末) A little girl often lived alone in her house. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】That summer day, Mrs. Caruso invited me and my siblings to her home. We were a bit nervous, as we had never been to a teacher’s house before. However, when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. Her home wasn’t as luxurious as we had imagined, but it was filled with warmth and love. She prepared a hearty lunch for us, and took us on a tour of her garden, which was filled with a variety of plants and flowers. She also showed us her study, which was filled with all sorts of books. We spent a delightful afternoon at her house, deeply moved by her kindness and hospitality. The experiences made a great difference in my life. Mrs. Caruso’s kindness and generosity taught me the importance of caring and helping each other. It was a lesson that I carried with me throughout my life, shaping my values and actions. I learned to appreciate what I had and to give back whenever I could. I also learned that kindness can come from unexpected places and that it’s the small acts of kindness that can make a big difference. 词汇激活 行为类 ①充满:be filled with/be full of ②感动:move/touch ③珍惜:appreciate/value/cherish 情绪类 ①紧张的:nervous/uptight/strained ②惊讶的:surprise/astonished 【点睛】【高分句型1】However, when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised.(运用了when引导的时间状语从句) 【高分句型2】She also showed us her study, which was filled with all sorts of books.(运用了which引导的非限制性定语从句) Passage 18 (2023高二下·云南大理·期末) Christmas came, and Stewart gathered the children at the dinner table. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 Both of them went outside even though Stewart could not stay outdoors for a long time. As soon as they went out, Tim couldn’t wait to rush into the snow. Soon, they made a huge snowman together. Stewart rolled his wheelchair, singing and dancing with Tim, their faces glowing with happiness. By the time Tim’s parents realized that their son was missing, they happened to see him having a lot of fun with his grandfather in the snow. Unfortunately, just as they were enjoying themselves, Stewart fell over, and Tim’s parents called an ambulance to take him to the hospital. To Stewart’s surprise, his children and grandchildren were all around him when he woke up in hospital. Stewart was very happy to get together with all his family members again, although this time it was in hospital. All Stewart’s children were ashamed of being too busy with work to accompany Stewart. After Stewart recovered, Gregory, Sean and Lucy rescheduled a late Christmas night. They gathered their children and father at the dinner table, and baked Dad’s favorite pizza. They all greeted,“Merry Christmas!” 3. 词汇激活 行为类 ①意识到:realize/be aware of ②过得愉快:have fun/have a good time/enjoy oneself ③陪伴:accompany/keep sb company 情绪类 ①吃惊:surprise/astonishment ②快乐:happy/pleased/delighted 【点睛】[高分句型1]As soon as they went out, Tim couldn’t wait to rush into the snow. The little girl responded, “But Mommy, I can’t see and I want to be able to see when I start school next week. I want to do well, Mommy! What if I’m in the back?” 注意:1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Seeing this, I quietly called the saleslady over. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The saleslady was so moved. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】Seeing this, I quietly called the saleslady over. I told her that she either honored the coupon or let me buy them. The saleslady chose the latter and explained that she had to obey the store’s rules. I asked her to give me the bill. After looking at it, I started putting my cash in the counter. Seeing this, other customers around me donated their money as well to help the little girl. The saleslady was so moved. Realizing immediately she could also do something to help, she went over and bent down next to the little girl, holding the frames and said, “Do you like these frames, sweetie?” The little girl fought back her tears and shook her head. The saleslady apologized to the mom, informing her that she just realized that she actually had misread the coupon and that there would be no problem honoring it. She said, “That will be fifty dollars madam, just as the coupon had stated.” The mom proudly took out the fifty dollars she had saved and paid for the glasses. 词汇激活 行为类 ①走:walked/proceeded ②告知:told/informing ③付款,结账:putting one’s cash in the counter/paid for 情绪类 ①感动的:moved/touched ②高兴的:happy/enjoyable/pleasant 【点睛】[高分句型1] The saleslady chose the latter and explained that she had to obey the store's rules. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】Shortly after, we made the trip to the grocery store. The kids helped me push the cart and find items on our list. Max, the eldest, carefully compared prices of different products, and double-checked the expiration dates. Sam carried small items like spices, and Julia held the list, ticking off each item as we added it to the cart. When it came to choosing toilet paper, they debated over the softness and thickness, each offering their own opinion. With their assistance, we quickly filled the cart with all the essentials we needed. Once the kids got home, they decided to turn our house-cleaning into another game. Max took charge of vacuuming the living room, pushing the heavy machine around with determination. His younger brother, Sam, tackled the bathrooms, singing loudly as he scrubbed the sinks and toilets. Julia, the youngest, was in charge of folding the laundry. She piled the neatly folded clothes on the couch, beaming with pride at her accomplishment. By the time the sun had completely set, the house was spotless, and I felt a wave of warmth and gratitude wash over me. These unexpected acts of help from my children made this day off one of the most rewarding days I’d ever had. 帮助:help/assist/aid/do sb a favor   ②.提供:offer/give/provide ③.擦洗:scrub/brush/cleanse 情绪类 ①.骄傲地:proudly/with pride ②.感激:gratitude/appreciation/thankfulness 【点睛】[高分句型1]. Ethan stood frozen. 注意: 1. 续写词数应为150个左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Suddenly Ethan didn’t race toward the finish line, but home. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ A week later, a package from the racing committee arrived at Ethan’s house. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】Suddenly Ethan didn’t race toward the finish line, but home. His heart pounded harder than ever as he weaved through the crowded streets, avoiding runners and onlookers. When he burst through the front door, he found the ambulance had already parked outside and medical workers were gently lifting his grandmother onto a stretcher. “She’s going to be fine,” one of them assured him with a kind smile. Relieved, Ethan rushed to Grandmother’s side and squeezed her hand, feeling tears sting his eyes. His grandmother smiled weakly at him and urged him to return to the marathon, but Ethan kept her company. A week later, a package from the racing committee arrived at Ethan’s house. Inside were a special medal and a carefully folded letter. Unfolding it, Ethan read aloud, “Dear Ethan, sometimes the greatest race is not against others, but for the ones we love. Your decision showed courage, kindness, and strength beyond any finish line. You are the winner of the day.” His grandmother, beaming proudly from her armchair, nodded in agreement. Holding the medal tightly, Ethan smiled, knowing that some victories would shine in his heart forever. 【导语】本文以人物为线索展开,讲述了Ethan在参加城市青年马拉松比赛前夕及比赛当天所发生的一系列事件,展现了他的内心挣扎、情感变化以及最终的选择。 【详解】1.段落续写: ①由第一段首句内容“突然,Ethan没有冲向终点线,而是朝家的方向奔去$
