Chinese New Year painting, called nianhua in Chinese, is a kind of traditional art to be put up on walls and windows during the Spring Festival. Its bright colors and different subjects show the Chinese people’s hope for happiness and wealth.
This art has a long history. Its earliest form was a picture of a door god during the Han Dynasty. Later, more subjects such as the Kitchen God, women and babies appeared. As the Chinese New Year arrives, every family puts up its New Year paintings in order to say goodbye to the past and welcome the future. One of the most famous woodblock (木刻板) New Year paintings comes from Yangjiabu of Shandong Province. They cover many different themes and forms. They reflect people’s everyday life.
As time went by, some people found New Year paintings old-fashioned (过时的). What’s more, they thought the traditional door gods too frightening to hang in their homes and preferred something more artistic (艺术的)—because these door gods usually looked strong, serious and angry-faced, holding sharp weapons (锋利的兵器) in their hands. So the sales of New Year paintings dropped sharply in the mid-1980s.
Usually, colorful woodblock New Year paintings are produced in four steps. First, artists draw a simple sketch (素描) on the paper. Next, they copy it onto a wooden board and print a few samples (样品). Then, they add color to the samples. Finally, printers paint colors on the board, put paper on it, and brush the paper. Then the colorful woodblock New Year paintings are ready.
29.Which is the first form of Chinese New Year painting?
A.A picture of babies. B.A picture of a door god.

30.What does the underlined word “frightening” mean?
A.Scary. B.Lively. C.Common. D.Lovely.
31.Why did the sales of New Year paintings drop greatly in the middle of the 1980s?
A.Because people found New Year paintings unimportant.
B.Because people wanted something that was full of art.
C.Because people thought the door god couldn’t bring good luck.
D.Because people found it hard to produce New Year paintings.
32.What is the best title for the passage?
A.The History of Traditional Chinese Door Gods
B.Why New Year Paintings Lost Their Popularity
C.The Steps to Make Woodblock New Year Paintings
D.Chinese New Year Paintings: A Traditional Art

Today, microplastics (微塑料) can be found almost everywhere on Earth. Scientists have seen microplastic pollution near the peak of Mount Everest, in the Mariana Trench and even in baby waste. But now, researchers have found these tiny plastic particles (颗粒) in a new place: human blood.
The new research was published in Environment International on March 24. The scientists collected blood samples from 22 healthy adults and found plastic particles in 17 of them. These particles were as small as 0.0007 mm. That is to say, each of them is about 140 times smaller than the width of a human hair.
Half the blood samples had PET plastic, which is usually used in drink bottles. One third had PS in them. This type of plastic is often used in packing food and other products. And PE, which is used to produce plastic bags, was found in a quarter of the blood samples. Researchers even found two or three different types of plastic at the same time in some of the blood samples.
“It is certainly reasonable to be worried,” said study author Dick Vethaak. “The particles are there and are being transported throughout the body.” As a result of his research, Vethaak has been cutting down on his own use of plastics. He has also been covering his food and drinks to prevent plastics from directly entering them.
“The big question is, what is happening inside of our bodies?” said Vethaak. “Do the particles stay in the body? Are they being transported to the organs (器官)? And are these levels high enough to cause diseases?”
33.How does the writer develop paragraph 2?
A.By listing numbers. B.By comparing facts.
C.By giving examples. D.By raising questions.
34.What does the underline word “them” refer to in paragraph 3?
A.blood samples B.PET plastic C.plastic particles D.drink bottles
35.What’s the main purpose of the passage?
A.To introduce the different uses of PET, PS, and PE plastics in drink bottles.
B.To explain how microplastics enter the human body from the new research.
C.To tell people not to worry about the dangers of particles throughout the body.
D.To report the discovery of microplastics in human blood and discuss concerns.
36.What is the passage most likely to discuss next?
A.Methods to reduce microplastic pollution in the ocean.
B.Detailed statistics about microplastics in Mount Everest.
C.Further research on how microplastics affect human health.
D.The history of plastic production and its usage from all over the world.

Once upon a time there was a piece of wood. It was not an expensive piece of wood. Just a common block of firewood, one of those thick logs (圆木) that are put on the fire in winter to make cold rooms warm.
One fine day this piece of wood found itself in the shop of an old carpenter (木匠). Everyone called him Mastro Cherry, for the tip of his nose was so round and red and shiny that it looked like a ripe cherry.
As soon as he saw that piece of wood, Mastro Cherry was filled with joy. Rubbing (摩擦) his hands together happily, he said to himself, “This has come in time. I shall use it to make the leg of a table.” But as he was about to give it the first blow, he stood still with arm uplifted, for he had heard a little voice say, “Please be careful! Do not hit me so hard!”
What a surprise!
He turned frightened eyes about the room to find out where that voice had come from and he saw no one! He looked under the bench—no one! He searched the room—no one! He opened the door to look up and down the street—and still no one!
“Oh, I see!” he then said, laughing and shaking his head. “There may be something wrong with my ears. Well, well—to work once more.”
He struck another blow hard on the piece of wood.
“Oh, oh! You hurt me!” cried the same far-away little voice.
Mastro Cherry’s mouth opened wide.

It is a smart AI assistant (助手) named “Doubao”.
Doubao is made by the company ByteDance. It 56 (become) the special partner recently. This is a very big moment for technology. It makes many people think of what happened ten years ago. Back then, WeChat became very famous during the Spring Festival. Everyone started to send “Red Packets” on their phones while watching the show. Before that night, many people did not use WeChat to pay for things. After that night, people preferred 57 (shop) with it.
Now, Doubao wants to do the same thing. The makers of Doubao hope to make their AI popular if more and more people watch the Gala. 58 watching the Gala, people can chat with Doubao about it. Doubao shows that AI can be a simple and 59 (use) tool for everyone.

六.阅读短文回答问题(共3小题,第64.65题2分,第66题3分,7分)
Baozi is one of the common Chinese food for breakfast. Who would have thought that this simple meal would become a leading character in a film, and even win an Oscar?
On February 24, 2019, the short film Bao won the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film. In the film, a small baozi comes to life and becomes the “son” of a lonely Chinese woman in an immigrant (移民的) family in Canada.
Domee Shi, Pixar’s first Chinese-Canadian woman director, got the idea from her own experience. When Shi grew up, she wasn’t free and spent little time with her mother.
Bao explores the life of an empty-nest (空巢的) Chinese-Canadian mother who feels lonely after her son leaves home to go for his own life.
In the film, many details show the way the Chinese woman loves her “son”. She prepares delicious food, cleans up the house and always buys “him” snacks. These details are true to the strong and protective love of Chinese parents for their children.
“Traditionally, Chinese parents don’t say ‘I love you’ to their kids. I didn’t use dialogue in the film because I wanted it to be a story that spoke to everyone around the world,” said Shi at an interview.
Moreover, this film can serve as a bridge to help parents and children better understand each other and learn how to express love.
根据上面短文内容,回答下列问题。(每小题答案不超过6个单词)
64.When did the short film Bao win the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film?
65.What made Domee Shi get the idea about the film?
66.How did the Chinese woman in the film show her love to her son? Give one example.
