With the development of mobile payment, more and more children are not using paper money now.
A survey shows 86% of people in China use mobile phones to pay. For students, they seldom touch (触碰) the paper money in their everyday life. They may only do it when they get lucky money during the Spring Festival. When they need to buy something, they usually don’t reach into their pockets for paper money. They use their digital (电子的) watches. So many children ask their parents, “Why not keep money in the mobile phone or the watch?”
Hearing the question from their children, many parents start to worry. “Our children don’t know much about money. For them, money is just numbers. They have no idea where money comes from or how hard one makes money. This is bad for them.” one mother says. To solve the problem, parents start to provide chances for their children to use paper money. For example, they give paper money for their children to do some shopping.
To solve the problem, these years, a few schools in some cities begin to give special math classes to teach students about money. During the class, teachers show all the paper money and coins (硬币) to students and teach them yuan, jiao and fen. What’s more, the teachers ask the students to do simple calculations (简单的计算): from jiao to yuan or from yuan to fen. Mr. Wang, a math teacher, says, “Most children know little about money, so we need to help them get to know it. It’s a hard job, but the classes will be helpful to them.”

Do you often buy things online? These days, online shopping is very popular, especially among young people. It has become a main way for them to buy anything they need. What’s good about online shopping?
One of the biggest advantages (优点) of online shopping is that it saves a lot of time. Instead of going to a store or supermarket, you can shop from your home, office, or anywhere else at any time you like. And you don’t have to wait in long lines. If you don’t like what you bought, you can easily give it back to the seller without even going outside.
Another great thing is that online shopping helps you save money. To interest more people, many online sellers offer bigger discounts (折扣) than stores. This means you can often buy the same thing at a lower price online.
Moreover, when you shop online, you can get beneficial advice from other shoppers’ reviews (评论). For example, if you are interested in a sweater, you can read reviews to find out what clothes match it well, how to choose the right size and so on. You can also see pictures shared by other shoppers to get a better idea of what the sweater is like.
However, online shopping isn’t perfect. Since you can’t see or touch the things before buying them, sometimes what you get isn’t exactly what you want. Also, some bad people may try to steal (窃取) your information and money from websites.
In short, online shopping provides convenience (便利) for us in daily life, but it does have some problems. Therefore, it’s important to be careful when shopping online.

Did you put your old clothes into the donation (捐赠) box in your community? If not, you can do it right now because the clothes donation is very popular (流行的).
“From time to time, my mother clears out the clothes that I don’t wear. You know, we children are growing fast. I think it’s a good way to help others”, Lin Tao, a middle school student says.
“I often pick out some of my clothes that are out of style (过时的) after going shopping. Then I’ll put them into the donation box,” Miss Li, a pretty young lady says.
“That’s a good idea. Some clothes in the box are new. People can wear them or use them to make things such as bags,” Mrs. Wang, an old woman says.
But there are some problems along with the popularity of clothes donation. Here are the results of a survey.
◆Many clothes are too old.
◆The box is full of clothes in a short time. There is no more room for people to give away clothes.
◆Some people sell the clothes in the donation box for making money.
◆Some communities set the box in unsuitable places. So there are few clothes in it.
One of the workers in a community adds,“We often see people throw rubbish into the box when they pass by. We tried to stop them but they didn’t listen. That is a big problem.”
To make the donation box work well, our government (政府) is taking action. Clothes donation will be more convenient for people in need to take the clothes away.

4.划线单词unsuitable,由前缀un-(表示否定)和suitable(合适的)组成。根据后文“So there are few clothes in it(所以里面几乎没有衣服)”可知,箱子设置的位置不好,导致没人捐赠。

Every community has rules. Some students may think rules are strict (严格的) and they feel unhappy about them. However, rules are important for our safety.
Traffic rules are a good example. When we cross the road, we must look at the traffic lights and use the crossing. If we don’t follow them, accidents (事故) may happen. In the community, we also have rules. For example, we shouldn’t make loud noise at night because our neighbors need to sleep. We mustn’t litter everywhere to keep the community clean. Also, when we ride a bike, wearing a helmet (头盔) is a must. It can protect our heads.
Some people break rules because they think it saves time. For example, some riders ride fast or go the wrong way on the road. But this behavior is very dangerous. A moment of carelessness can cause a big problem.
