A篇
D. Keep a lamp and phone nearby.
A项“Keep the floor dry”为厨房和浴室的共同措施,B项“Cut away from your body”属厨房措施,C项“Unplug electric devices after use”亦属厨房措施,三项均信息错位,不属于卧室安全建议。
C. To provide advice on reducing fire risks.
C. Installing grab bars along passage walls.
根据“Safety for Children and the Elderly”段落老年人部分,原文提到“Put up grab bars along passage walls and in the bathroom”,选项C中的Installing对应Put up,along passage walls与原文一致,该措施旨在帮助行动不便的老年人防跌倒。A项“Placing covers over electrical outlets”和B项“Keeping cleaning materials out of reach”均出现在儿童安全措施部分,属于对象错位;D项“Preventing them from taking a bath alone”系将原文针对幼儿的“Never leave a small child alone in the bath”错误归至老年人,属张冠李戴。
D. To present dental harm of online misinformation.
B. Patient satisfaction.
Paragraph 2 末尾“71% of adults who have had a root canal say they are glad they chose it...”
D. Visiting a dentist only when in pain.
Paragraph 4中“this delay” 指代前一句“nearly half of adults only visit a dentist when they feel pain”所描述的行为习惯。
B. Avoiding regular care harms natural teeth.
Paragraph 5末句“Regular dental visits, not fear-based avoidance, are the key to keeping natural teeth for life”通过正反对比:定期看牙是关键→逃避(avoiding regular care)就会伤害天然牙。
C. Why does feeling okay sometimes bring a sense of guilt?
E. So expressions of stability can be mistaken for not caring.
空后一句“The language of crisis feels more familiar and real than the language of calm”是进一步的后果说明。 选项中的“expressions of stability”与后文“the language of calm”形成语义对应,“mistaken for not caring”解释人们为何不敢说自己很好。
F. This steadiness actually makes us more caring toward others.
空后一句“It helps us stay steady...” 同时,“makes us more caring”与空前的“broaden our perspective”和空后的“stay steady”构成递进关系,从认知拓展到情感关怀再到情绪稳定,逻辑顺畅。
G. So learning to accept our “quiet okayness” builds resilience.
其中“learning to accept our‘quiet okayness’”正是空后“It”的指代对象,而“builds resilience”概括了这些做法(诚实回答、重视中间状态等)的核心目标。
A. In hard times, such steadiness is a quiet form of strength.
选项A中“such steadiness”回指前文四种做法所培养的内在稳定,“In hard times”与后文“create space for others”的情境对应,“quiet form of strength”与后文“community where people can stay strong inside”构成从个人到群体的递进。
13. 【答案】stood out(脱颖而出)
14. 【答案】comments(评论、话语)
comments 与“share her thoughts”直接对应。mistakes/jokes/promises 无法与“wise”搭配。
15. 【答案】problem(问题)
dream/gift/habit 均不符合。
16. 【答案】desired(渴望)
doubted/refused/forgot 情感色彩相反。
17. 【答案】adopt(收养)
visit/leave/teach 不涉及家庭关系改变。
18. 【答案】failed(失败)
succeeded/remained/happened 逻辑方向错误。
19. 【答案】hesitation(犹豫)
reason/effort/permission 无法构成此意。
20. 【答案】available(可获得的、未被领养的)
acceptable/suitable/reachable 均不准确。
21. 【答案】agreed(同意)
refused/sighed/left 体现消极或无关动作。
22. 【答案】belongings(随身物品)
books/toys/clothes 过于具体。
23. 【答案】safe(安全)
strange/curious/lonely 均偏离。
24. 【答案】permanent(永久的)
clear/easy/private 不涉及持久性。
25. 【答案】asking(询问)
writing/telling/showing 语义偏差。
26. 【答案】hardly(几乎不)
nearly/simply/possibly 无法表达此情感。
27. 【答案】gratitude(感激)
feeling/sense/thought 过于中性。
28.【答案】its
This was my grandfather's handwriting."(这是我祖父的笔迹),表示"这显然是……",需要用副词作评注性状语。
31.【答案】and
32.【答案】were
33.【答案】have realized
主语是"I",助动词用"have",因此填"have realized"。
34.:with
"be left with..." with piles of documents"作主语补足语,补充说明主语"we"被留下的状态。
36.【答案】that / which
37.【答案】being forgotten
"at risk of"是固定短语,意为"有……
One possible version:
Ranking My High School Essentials
Looking back on my three years, if I were to rank study, friendship, and exercise by importance, my order would be: exercise, friendship, study.
Many might find this surprising, but here’s my reasoning. I put exercise first because without a healthy body, nothing else is sustainable. I learned this the hard way—by senior year, constant sickness drained both my energy and my grades. Friendship comes second. When pressure nearly broke me, it was my friends who listened and pulled me through. Their company turned the exhausting journey into something warm and bearable. Study, which I once sacrificed everything for, comes third. This doesn’t mean it’s unimportant; rather, I’ve realized that good grades are the natural result when you have health to keep going and friends to lean on.
If I had understood this order earlier, my high school life would have been both healthier and happier.
One possible version:
Two weeks later, Clara returned to the river bank and saw a small green plant. She knelt down and gently touched its leaves, remembering how the seed had once seemed so dead. Day by day, she had watched it push up — slowly, silently, without any rush. Now, looking at the little plant, Clara realized that she had also changed. She no longer felt completely lost. She had simply kept coming, day after day, just like the plant had kept growing. She smiled and whispered to the plant, “I’ll be back tomorrow.”
That night, lying in bed, Clara understood what the plant had shown her. The seed had not become a plant overnight. It had grown bit by bit, hidden beneath the ground, before any green part appeared. Her own growth was the same. She had expected a sudden answer to her purpose, but real change had been happening quietly — in her daily visits, her patient waiting, her slow shift in thinking. Clara closed her eyes and felt peace for the first time. She knew she would keep going, one small step at a time.

A new survey by the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), a dental association, raises alarms about false dental information online. Nearly half of young adults fear a procedure called root canal, mainly because they cannot easily distinguish facts from myths on social platforms. Experts worry that such fear may push young people to avoid regular dental visits, increasing the risk of tooth problems and other health issues.
So what is a root canal? It is a common treatment to save a natural tooth when harm occurs inside the tooth. The dentist removes the harmful inside part, cleans the tooth, and fills it. Far from being dangerous, root canal treatment relieves pain and prevents tooth loss. In fact, 71% of adults who have had a root canal say they are glad they chose it over taking the tooth out.
Though these facts are true, many young adults turn to non-experts online for health advice. A 2025 study found that 45% of people aged 18-34 depend on social platform users for health decisions. However, over half of them later regret following such advice.
The AAE survey also shows a worrying habit: nearly half of adults only visit a dentist when they feel pain. This delay can turn a small tooth problem into a serious one. While 85% of adults say they trust dental professionals, 23% still turn to Google searches for dental advice — a gap that false information can easily fill.
“We are worried that fear and false information are keeping young people from seeing a dentist,” says Dr. Steven J. Katz, president of the AAE. He warns that avoiding regular care because of false claims only leads to worse problems. A video from a social platform user is no replacement for a dentist’s training. Regular dental visits, not fear-based avoidance, are the key to keeping natural teeth for life.

We live in a world where mental health is openly discussed. Yet while sharing struggles is often met with understanding, admitting we feel fine can feel uncomfortable. 8
Psychologists link this to “upward emotional comparison.” It means we tend to compare our own feelings with the visible pain of others. 9 The language of crisis feels more familiar and real than the language of calm.
But feeling okay is not the same as ignoring others’ pain. Research shows that calmness and contentment are not just personal rewards. They serve an important social purpose. Positive emotions broaden our thinking, improve problem-solving, and build inner resources. 10 It helps us stay steady, so we can face stress without breaking down.
11 It means answering honestly when we feel good, valuing the middle ground between crisis and excitement, feeling grateful without guilt, and offering others the gift of really listening.
12 By openly recognizing our own stable moments, we help make all emotions feel normal and create space for others to accept how they feel. In this way, honestly sharing our wellbeing, one conversation at a time, helps build a community where people can stay strong inside.
A. In hard times, such steadiness is a quiet form of strength.
B. People who feel calm are simply refusing to face reality.
C. Why does feeling okay sometimes bring a sense of guilt?
D. Sharing too much about our good moods reduces empathy.
E. So expressions of stability can be mistaken for not caring.
F. This steadiness actually makes us more caring toward others.
G. So learning to accept our “quiet okayness” builds resilience.

Within the first few pages, Grandfather had recounted centuries of our family's history, including 30 (diary) and letters from his youth — a wealth of memories and research.

The Seed of Change
Clara, a young woman living in a small village by the river, felt trapped in her daily routine. She dreamed of a life with purpose and adventure, but every day was the same: wake up, work hard, go to bed. She admired those who seemed so sure of their paths, while she herself felt lost. No matter how hard she tried, she felt like she was running in circles.
One afternoon, feeling particularly discouraged, Clara sat by the river. Her eyes fell upon a tiny seed resting in the dirt. It looked ordinary, yet something made her stop and watch. The next morning, she returned. The seed still lay there, unchanged. Clara almost laughed at herself for expecting anything. But she kept coming back, day after day, out of a quiet hope she could not explain.
For several days, nothing happened. The seed sat still in the earth, as if asleep. She wondered if she was wasting her time on something that would never change — just like her own life. However, on the fifth day, she noticed a small break on the seed’s shell. Her heart beat faster. The following morning, a little green leaf appeared, pushing through the soil. Clara felt a ray of hope she had not felt in months. She continued visiting every day, watching the plant grow little by little. It stretched up toward the sun while its thin roots dug deeper into the earth.
Day by day, the plant grew taller and stronger. Clara noticed how every time she came to check on it, something inside her seemed to grow a little stronger too. She no longer rushed away after a quick look. Instead, she sat beside it, thinking about her own small steps. And in that quiet time by the river, something inside Clara began to shift, though she could not yet name it.
