Recently, an AI-generated (生成的) short film Huo Qubing has gained wide popularity across the world. It first became popular overseas and soon became a heated topic at home. Created by a professional team from Wuhan, the film presents impressive battle scenes and carries the true spirit of a great Chinese hero.
Huo Qubing was an outstanding general of the Western Han Dynasty. At a young age, he earned wide respect for his courage, talent and strong love for the nation. His story has inspired Chinese people for centuries.
To bring the short film to life, the team made lots of efforts. They generated about 1,700 AI images, selected 90 as key scenes, and produced nearly 500 AI-generated video clips. After careful editing (编辑), scoring and refinement (优化), they finished the film in about 48 working hours with a computing cost of around 3,000 yuan. Of course, besides this computing cost, the team also spent a great deal of time and energy in planning, designing, editing and music production.
The film marks major technological progress. AI saves creators much time and energy from heavy work, allowing small teams and individual creators to produce wonderful works that once only large companies could make. This makes video creation more open and inclusive.
Culturally, Huo Qubing builds a bridge between the world and China. The young hero’s story touches global viewers, and using AI to tell classic Chinese stories helps the world better understand Chinese history and values. This perfect mix of technology and culture shows how modern tools can help spread wonderful Chinese stories.
23.What can’t we know about Huo Qubing from the text?
A.He is the main character of an AI-generated short film.
B.He lived during the Western Han Dynasty when there was no war.
C.He became famous at an early age due to his talent and good qualities.
24.Which words can be used to describe the team’s work?
A.Simple and quick. B.Tiring and costly. C.Careful and professional.
25.What does the underlined word “inclusive” in Paragraph 4 probably mean?
A.Easy for more people to take part in.
B.Fast to spread worldwide.
C.Expensive to produce.
26.What is the text mainly about?
A.The life story of a famous Chinese ancient hero.
B.A popular AI-generated short film and its influence.
C.Ways to spread traditional Chinese culture globally.
【答案】23.B 24.C 25.A 26.B
根据第一段“Recently, an AI-generated (生成的) short film Huo Qubing has gained wide popularity across the world.”可知,霍去病是一个AI短片中的主角;根据第一段“Created by a professional team from Wuhan, the film presents impressive battle scenes and carries the true spirit of a great Chinese hero.”和第二段“Huo Qubing was an outstanding general of the Western Han Dynasty. At a young age, he earned wide respect for his courage, talent and strong love for the nation.”
25.前句提到“AI让小团队和个人创作者能制作出曾经只有大公司才能完成的作品”,后句总结“This makes video creation more open and inclusive”, and表并列,因此“inclusive”与“open”表意相近。
C
①Governments around the world are pushing for an end to plastic straws (吸管) and bags. More and more businesses are turning to paper products as a choice. Paper is considered by many to be better than plastic. However, it is harmful to the environment, too.
②Firstly, paper bags and straws are made from trees. Trees, as you know, can reduce (减少) carbon dioxide (CO2) levels (水平) in the air. They can slow down climate change. An increase in the use of paper bags can cause more trees to be cut down.
③Secondly, products made from paper require more energy and water. About 10% more energy than and four times as much water is used to produce a paper bag than a plastic one. You might say that we can use recycled paper to save that energy and water. This seems to be a good idea. However, it takes even more energy and water to go through the recycling process than to make a brand-new paper bag. Products made from recycled paper are also often short-lived.
④Furthermore, paper products are heavier than plastic ones. That means they require more oil to transport. Seven trucks are needed to transport two million paper bags, while only one truck is needed to transport the same number of plastic bags. The increased weight also leads to a large amount of waste once the bags are thrown away.
⑤Paper products are actually a lose-lose for both the environment and businesses. They are more expensive than plastic products. A paper straw costs about 5 to 12 cents, while a plastic one usually costs only about 2 cents.
⑥The most environment-friendly solution is to avoid single-use products altogether. Products like glass water bottles and steel straws can be used over and over again. They are much better than either paper products or plastic products. Through increasing the use of these products, you can greatly reduce your throwaway waste and truly make our earth a greener place!
27.How does the writer introduce the topic?
A.By listing a fact. B.By giving an example. C.By telling a story.
28.What’s the structure of this passage?
A.①→②③④⑤→⑥ B.①②③→④⑤⑥ C.①②→③④→⑤⑥
29.Which of the following may the writer agree with?
A.Paper products are good for environment and businesses.
B.It’s best to buy reusable products like steel straws.
C.We should use single-use cups to drink water.
30.What’s the purpose of the passage?
A.To introduce the advantages of paper products.
B.To push for an end to plastic straws and bags.
C.To call on using products in an environment-friendly way.
【答案】27.A 28.A 29.B 30.C
根据文章第一段“Governments around the world are pushing for an end to plastic straws (吸管) and bags. More and more businesses are turning to paper products as a choice.” 故选A。
第一段①以“However, it is harmful to the environment, too”这一转折句抛出核心观点——纸质产品虽被广泛选择,但同样危害环境;第二段②至第五段⑤为分述部分,分别通过“paper bags and straws are made from trees”“require more energy and water”“heavier than plastic ones”“more expensive than plastic products”等语句,从树木消耗、资源耗费、运输成本、经济成本四个维度具体论证纸质产品的弊端;第六段⑥以“The most environment-friendly solution is to avoid single-use products altogether”总结全文,提出最终结论。 故选A。
根据文章最后一段“The most environment-friendly solution is to avoid single-use products altogether. Products like glass water bottles and steel straws can be used over and over again. They are much better than either paper products or plastic products.”
开篇以“paper is considered by many to be better than plastic. However, it is harmful...”打破认知误区,中间段落围绕纸质产品的环境危害展开分析,最终在结尾明确提出“Products like glass water bottles and steel straws can be used over and over again. They are much better than either paper products or plastic products”“Through increasing the use of these products... truly make our earth a greener place”。
It’s a hot summer day. The classroom feels like an oven. Some students want to turn the air conditioner down to 18℃ to cool off quickly. Others say 26℃ is perfectly fine. 31 With heatwaves hitting more often, this question is becoming harder to answer.
Many schools ask students to set the AC at 26℃ or higher. That’s because the lower the temperature, the more electricity it uses. 32 It’s a sad cycle. But here’s the thing: we can’t simply say no to AC. Studies show that when a classroom is too hot, students can’t focus. They feel tired and sleepy. Their test scores drop. 33
So what smart ways can we try? In some countries, schools start classes earlier in the morning when it’s cooler, and end earlier in the afternoon. 34
Another idea comes from Singapore. Instead of just telling people to “use less AC”, some schools design their classrooms for better airflow. Then they open windows on both sides to let the wind blow through. 35 It’s about working with nature, not against it.
Maybe the answer isn’t about finding the “perfect” number on the AC but changing our habits. After all, saving the planet might start with being a little less comfortable.
A.But is 26℃ really the best temperature for everyone in every situation?
B.What makes this idea special is that it uses no energy, just smart thinking.
C.This simple change in timetable helps them avoid the hottest part of the day.
D.The more coal and gas we burn to produce electricity, the warmer our planet becomes.
E.In fact, keeping students cool is not just about comfort — it’s about creating a good learning environment.
【答案】31.A 32.D 33.E 34.C 35.B
33.空前“Studies show that when a classroom is too hot, students can’t focus.”
34.空前提到一些国家学校“start classes earlier...and end earlier”,此处需要指代空前的调整上课时间措施,并说明其作用是“avoid the hottest part of the day”,逻辑连贯。
35.空前“Then they open windows on both sides to let the wind blow through.”

Every spring, our school holds a special cultural day called “Roots & Routes”. The event is designed to help students explore how traditional culture meets modern innovation (创新). Unlike typical festivals that focus only on stage performances, it mixes hands-on experiences with creative technology, drawing hundreds of students and teachers every year.
The event is divided into two main zones (区域): the “Roots Zone” and the “Routes Zone”. In the “Roots Zone”, students can try their hand at paper-cutting under the guidance of local folk artists, or learn to play simple tunes on the guzheng, a traditional Chinese musical instrument. These activities are not just for fun; they aim to help students slow down and notice the beauty in time-honored skills that might otherwise fade away. Many students say they feel a stronger sense of pride in the culture after taking part.
On the other side, the “Routes Zone” lets students experience how technology can bring tradition to life. Last year, a group of Grade 9 students used 3D printers to create mini models of ancient Chinese buildings, while others tried VR tours of the Forbidden City. The goal here is to show that tradition doesn’t have to stay in the past — new tools can help young people share these stories in exciting ways.
Teachers believe events like these help students see that culture is not unchanging. It grows, changes, and finds new life when young people connect it with their own interests. For many students, the day becomes more than just a festival; it’s a chance to understand their own role in passing down culture.
56.When does the school usually hold the “Roots & Routes” cultural day?

57.Why does the school hold such a cultural day?

Dragon boat racing is a traditional custom with a history of over 2,000 years in southern China. It is the 46 (popular) activity during the Dragon Boat Festival.
