This idea, strongly rooted in ancient philosophy (哲学), regards humans not as masters of nature, but as a part of it. To live wisely, one must respect natural rules and avoid taking more than the earth can provide. A simple yet powerful story from the time of Confucius (551-479 BC) shows this wisdom perfectly. One day, the great thinker came across a fisherman by the river. To his surprise, the man was using only a single fishing line, not a large net (网). Curious, Confucius asked why. The fisherman replied calmly, “If I use a net, I will catch every fish, including the young ones. Soon there will be no fish left for anyone. I take only what I need so that nature may continue to grow and renew itself.” Confucius strongly agreed. He later taught his students a famous lesson: “Fish with a line, not a net; do not shoot birds when they are at rest.” This was not just about fishing or hunting. It was a call for restraint—using nature’s gifts wisely and with self-control. This ancient rule was also made into practical laws. In old China, it was not allowed to cut trees in spring when they were growing new leaves, or to hunt animals during their breeding (繁殖) seasons. Such rules allowed plants and wildlife to reproduce and grow well, ensuring resources (资源) for future generations. Today, as we face serious environmental problems like overfishing, deforestation, and desert spreading, this old eco-wisdom has lost none of its value. Living in peace with nature is not just an old saying—it remains the most sensible and lasting way to protect our earth. 23. What should people do according to the first paragraph? A. Try to control the whole nature. B. Follow natural rules and take properly. C. Get as much as possible from the earth. 24. Why didn’t the fisherman use a large net? A. He could not afford to buy one. B. Confucius stopped him from using it. C. He wanted nature to keep renewing itself. 25. What does the underlined word “restraint” mean in Paragraph 2? 26. What is the best title for the passage? A. Ancient Rules for Fishing. B. Living wisely with Nature. C. Modern Environmental Problems. B 24. C 25. C 26. 【23题详解】 根据第一段中“To live wisely, one must respect natural rules and avoid taking more than the earth can provide.” 【24题详解】 根据第二段中渔夫的回答“I take only what I need so that nature may continue to grow and renew itself.” 【25题详解】 根据第二段中“It was a call for restraint—using nature’s gifts wisely and with self-control.” 破折号后的补充说明为“using nature’s gifts wisely and with self-control”,其中“wisely”意为“明智地”,“self-control”意为“自我控制、自律”。 C Soon, China’s Tiangong space station may welcome its first guest from other countries. According to the China Manned Space Agency(CMSA,中国载人航天工程办公室), two Pakistani astronauts, Muhammad Zeeshan Ali and Khurram Daud, arrived in Beijing on April 24 this year. They are the first foreign astronauts chosen for China’s space mission (任务) training. One of them will join a manned space mission, becoming the first foreign astronaut to visit Tiangong. The astronauts will learn skills and knowledge in many areas. These include the Chinese language and space physics, Wang Yanan, chief editor of Aerospace Knowledge magazine, told China Daily. If successful, the program will mark the first time a Pakistani national goes into outer space. So far, the highest point any Pakistani has reached is about 87.4 kilometers, achieved by astronaut Namira Salim on Oct 6, 2023. However, the Karman line, widely regarded as the start of outer space, lies 100 km above sea level. “For the people of Pakistan, having their own astronauts and watching one of their fellow citizens fly into space will surely be a historic and very proud moment,” Wang said. He added that this will encourage more young Pakistanis to take part in space exploration. The training is also a key achievement in international space cooperation. By April 2025, China had signed around 200 space cooperation agreements with over 50 countries and international organizations. For example, China’s Chang’e 7 lunar probe (月球探测器) is expected to launch (发射) this year to search for water ice on the moon. It plans to carry scientific instruments from other countries, including Egypt, Italy, Russia and Thailand. “China’s manned space program will always keep its doors wide open,” the CMSA said. “Together, we will expand (扩大) humanity’s understanding of the universe.” 27. When did the two Pakistani astronauts arrive in Beijing for training? A. On April 24, 2026. B. On Oct 6, 2023. C. On April 25, 2025. 28. Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage? A. Both Pakistani astronauts will visit Tiangong space station. B. The training includes Chinese language and space physics. C. Namira Salim reached the Karman line in 2023 successfully. 29. What can we learn about China’s Chang’e 7 lunar probe? A. It will carry instruments from Pakistan. B. It has already been launched into space. C. It will search for water ice on the moon. 30. What is the main purpose of the text? A. To describe the training of two Pakistani astronauts. B. To show China’s open-door spirit in space cooperation. C. To introduce the development of Pakistan’s space program. A 28. B 29. C 30. 【27题详解】 根据第一段“According to the China Manned Space Agency(CMSA, 中国载人航天工程办公室 ), two Pakistani astronauts, Muhammad Zeeshan Ali and Khurram Daud, arrived in Beijing on April 24 this year”可知,两名巴基斯坦宇航员到达北京的时间为2026年4月24日。 【28题详解】 根据第二段“The astronauts will learn skills and knowledge in many areas. These include the Chinese language and space physics, Wang Yanan, chief editor of Aerospace Knowledge magazine, told China Daily.” 【29题详解】 根据“For example, China’s Chang’e 7 lunar probe (月球探测器) is expected to launch (发射) this year to search for water ice on the moon.” 【30题详解】 根据最后一段“‘China’s manned space program will always keep its doors wide open,’ the CMSA said. ‘Together, we will expand (扩大) humanity’s understanding of the universe.’” A smile shows that someone is happy. There are countless reasons why people smile. Yet as the saying goes, “Laughter is the best medicine.” Smiling is far more than just an expression of happiness. ____31____ Smiling benefits our health. It helps us lower stress and feel more relaxed. ____32____ When we smile, our bodies work better and we feel more energetic. It also lifts our mood and helps us stay in good health. Smiling requires less physical effort. ____33____ In fact, it only takes about 17 facial muscles(肌肉) to smile. However, showing unhappiness or displeasure uses about 43 muscles. This makes smiling much more relaxing for our facial muscles. So give your face a break and smile more often—why frown(皱眉) when you can smile? ____34____ Many people try to improve their appearance through exercise or fashionable clothes. However, there is a famous saying: “A smile is the best thing a person can wear”. This is because people are naturally drawn to those who wear a smile. After all, kindness and warmth never go out of style. Smiling carries great power. Both smiles and laughter can spread quickly from one person to another, just like wildfire. When someone is feeling down, sharing a smile is one of the kindest things you can do. ____35____ The next time you feel unhappy, try thinking about something funny and smile. You’ll find it hard to stay mad or sad for very long! A. Smiling makes us more attractive. B. There are plenty of other great reasons to smile. C. It is the simplest and cheapest way to cheer others up. D. Smiling comes more easily than showing unhappiness. E. It can even help to create special chemicals to help us feel less pain. B 32. E 33. D 34. A 35. B“There are plenty of other great reasons to smile.” E“It can even help to create special chemicals to help us feel less pain.” D“Smiling comes more easily than showing unhappiness.” A“Smiling makes us more attractive.” C“It is the simplest and cheapest way to cheer others up.” I knew exercise is good for health——who doesn’t? But ____36____ were easier. Running bored me, biking sounded risky, and the gym seemed too hard to deal with. Each offered me a reason to avoid it, so I did. When I worked in Kenya, I came to realize that people there don’t “exercise” the way I had thought. Instead, they____37____—— with a clear purpose in mind. They move to get to places. They move to hunt and to grow crops. There is no such thing as a gym, but they are exercising all the time. Maybe I could get ____38____ from these people and add meaning to my exercise. So, I____39____my new exercise program: “chicken-cising,” with 15 baby chicks and a book on keeping backyard chickens. It turned out that____40____ the chicks was really tiring but great exercise. It is a____41____ activity with bending (弯腰), kneeling (屈膝) down, carrying things and running around. One weekend, my watch ____42____ as many as 145 kneeling moves and 10,506 steps! I ended up in better shape than I expected and found extra (额外的) ____43____ things that no gym exercise can give me. First, quitting is not a choice: You can’t put on your “chicken-cising” clothes, sit for a while, and then just decide not to do it, especially when your chicks depend on you to live. Second, you have great exercise partners, who greet you ____44____. Bah-Baanahk! What’s more? Fresh eggs from the hens! Turning every breakfast into a special time of my new lifestyle with the best eggs. “chicken-cising” taught me that moving doesn’t need a gym——it needs ____45____. 36. A. rules B. excuses C. plans 37. A. move B. work C. travel 38. A. prizes B. gifts C. ideas 39. A. regretted B. started C. stopped 40. A. caring for B. giving away C. picking up 41. A. hands-off B. brain-training C. full-body 42. A. asked B. showed C. missed 43. A. good B. safe C. bad 44. A. patiently B. carefully C. cheerfully 45. A. time B. meaning C. courage 【答案】36. B 37. A 38. C 39. B 40. A 41. C 42. B 43. A 44. C 45. 后文多次出现move,且下文“They move to get to places. They move to hunt and to grow crops.” caring for the chicks意为“照料小鸡”,对应后文弯腰、下跪、搬东西等养鸡劳作;giving away“赠送”、picking up“捡起”,不符合养鸡日常行为。 Kunlun Mountain, Qingqiu, Penglai... you may have heard of these mysterious (神秘的) places in old Chinese stories. Let me tell you something about it. Well, the truth is that high school moves faster and what you learn is more challenging. You’ll need deep thinking and logical (逻辑的) reasoning—skills that don’t grow overnight. At first, I found myself stuck in more questions than answers, and the pressure was no joke. But over time, I have found a way to keep my balance. Here are my secrets. I try to solve problems with my studies on my own during the week. If something still refuses to make sense by the weekend, I write it down clearly on my “to-ask” list and ask my teachers for explanations on Monday. There’s another lesson I have learned: Be sure to sleep before 11 pm every day. Health comes before anything else. Sometimes I even politely ask my teachers if we can cut down on some repetitive exercises, so that I can focus on my weak points. It turns out they actually listen. So don’t underestimate (低估) the power of good communication. To fight pressure, I spend 30 minutes exercising every day. It refreshes my mind, improves my memory and sharpens my focus. And on weekends? I sleep in, watch a show or just do nothing for a while, because burning out helps no one. If you’re not a sports lover, don’t worry. Schools offer tons of other fun activities like clubs, volunteer work or competitions. Just find what you truly enjoy. Senior high is a journey of growth. With the right methods and a positive mind, you won’t just survive it; you’ll actually enjoy it! 56. B For thousands of years, a main belief has guided the relationship between the Chinese people and the natural world: the unity (统一) of humanity and nature. C Soon, China’s Tiangong space station may welcome its first guest from other countries. A smile shows that someone is happy. 56.
