My Favorite Place in Yunnan
My favorite place in Yunnan is the Lugu Lake. It lies between Ninglang County in Yunnan and Yanyuan County in Sichuan. I visited it with my family last summer, and I fell in love with it at once.
The lake is the clearest water I have ever seen. The water is so clean that you can see the bottom. The most special thing is the unique Mosuo culture. We took a wooden boat and rowed on the lake. The boatman, a Mosuo uncle, sang beautiful folk songs to us. We also visited a Mosuo family and learned about their “walking marriage” custom. It was very interesting.
Lugu Lake is a place of natural beauty and rich culture. It made me realize that Yunnan has so many treasures to explore. I hope to visit it again one day.

第二部分 阅读理解 (共三节,满分30分)
第一节 (共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分)
根据短文内容,判断正误 (正确“T”,错误“F”)。
Have you ever heard of “paddy art” (稻田画) in Yunnan? It is a new form of art that turns rice fields into huge, beautiful pictures.
In places like the Hani Rice Terraces (哈尼梯田) in Honghe, farmers don’t just grow rice anymore. They also “paint” with rice. How do they do it? First, they design a picture on a computer. Then, they choose different kinds of rice plants that have different leaf colors, such as green, purple, and yellow. Finally, they plant the rice seedlings (秧苗) very carefully according to the design.
From the ground, you just see rice plants. But when you look from a high place, like a viewing platform or from a drone (无人机), the picture appears! You might see a peacock, the word “Welcome”, or a picture of a local hero.
This “paddy art” has become a big hit with tourists. It brings more visitors to the countryside, which helps the local farmers earn more money. It also shows the creativity of the Chinese farmers. They are not only working the land but also making it a work of art. So, next time you visit the terraces, remember to look down from above—you might be surprised by what you see in the fields of green.
21. “Paddy art” is a new way of painting on paper using rice water.
22. Farmers use different colored rice plants to create the pictures.
23. You can see the picture clearly when you stand right next to the rice field.
24. “Paddy art” helps local farmers earn more money from tourism.
25. This passage mainly talks about how to cook different kinds of rice.

Cai Lei is not a name you often hear in the news. But in the world of archaeology (考古学) in China, he is a hero. Cai is a “restorer of time” who spends his days putting broken ancient pottery (陶器) back together.
Imagine a thousand-piece puzzle (拼图), but many pieces are missing, and all the pieces are brown and look almost the same. This is Cai’s daily job. When archaeologists dig up a broken pottery jar from a 2,000-year-old tomb, they send the pieces to Cai.
Cai’s workshop is quiet. He uses special glue and his amazing eyes to match the pieces. A single jar can take him six months to a year to restore. He must be extremely patient. “Sometimes, I just sit and look at the pieces for hours,” Cai says. “The pottery tells a story. I have to listen to find where each piece belongs.”
One of his most famous restorations was a painted pottery jar from the Dian Kingdom (古滇国), an ancient kingdom in Yunnan. When the pieces arrived, they looked like a box of broken cookies. After eight months of hard work, Cai turned them into a beautiful jar with pictures of hunting scenes. People can now see this treasure in the Yunnan Provincial Museum.
“I’m not creating something new,” Cai says with a smile. “I’m just helping the past speak to the future. When a visitor looks at a jar I fixed and sees the beauty of 2,000 years ago, I feel my life has meaning.” His work is a bridge between modern people and their ancient ancestors.
31. What is Cai Lei’s job?
A. He digs up ancient tombs. B. He fixes broken ancient pottery.
C. He takes photos of old things. D. He teaches history at a university.
32. According to paragraph 3, why is Cai’s job very difficult?
A. Because the pieces are very large. B. Because he has to work very fast.
C. Because the pieces are similar and many are missing.
D. Because he doesn’t have the right tools.
33. How long did it take Cai to restore the painted jar from the Dian Kingdom?
A. Six months. B. Eight months.
C. One year. D. Two years.
34. The underlined word “restoration” in paragraph 4 probably means ______.
A. the act of breaking something B. the act of hiding something
C. the act of repairing something to its original condition
D. the act of painting something new
35. What does Cai Lei think of his job?
A. It is boring and meaningless. B. It is too difficult and he wants to give up.
C. It is a way to connect the past with the present.
D. It is a good way to make a lot of money.
C
Have you ever seen a train that runs without any driver? In Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China’s first fully automated (自动化的) subway line has been running since 2020. It is called Line 9, and it is a perfect example of “smart” transportation.
This “driverless” train is controlled by a super-smart computer system. The system can start the train, adjust its speed, open and close doors, and even decide when to clean the train. It uses sensors (传感器) and cameras to “see” the tracks. If something is wrong, it can stop the train faster than a human driver.
Why do we need such trains? First, they are safer. Computers don’t get tired or distracted (分心) like humans do. Second, they are more efficient. The computer system can run trains closer together, so more people can be carried during rush hour. Third, because there is no driver’s cabin, the train can have more space for passengers.
Now, China is leading the world in this technology. The cities of Shanghai, Beijing, and Xi’an are also building or planning their own driverless subway lines. But the technology is not just for subways. In the future, we may see driverless buses, taxis, and even long-distance trains.
However, many people still feel a little nervous about getting on a train with no driver. To solve this, the trains have a “safety attendant (安全员)” on board. This person does not drive but is there to help passengers in an emergency (紧急情况). This gives people peace of mind while they enjoy the ride into the future.
36. What is special about Chengdu Subway Line 9?
A. It is the longest subway line in China. B. It has no driver and is fully automated.
C. It is the first subway line in Sichuan. D. It was built in 2024.
37. According to paragraph 2, how does the driverless train “see” the tracks?
A. By using a map. B. By asking passengers.
C. By using sensors and cameras. D. By following another train.
38. Which of the following is NOT mentioned as a benefit of driverless trains?
A. They are safer. B. They are more efficient.
C. They are cheaper to build. D. They have more space for passengers.
39. Why are “safety attendants” on the driverless trains?
A. To drive the train when the computer fails. B. To sell tickets to passengers.
C. To help passengers in case of an emergency. D. To clean the train during the ride.
40. What is the writer’s attitude (态度) toward driverless trains?
A. Worried and afraid. B. Uninterested and bored.
C. Supportive and hopeful. D. Critical and negative.

根据短文内容,从短文后所给的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Do you know that the way you sit in class can affect your grades? It sounds strange, but it’s true! Scientists have found a strong connection between your posture (姿势) and your brain. 41
◆Sit up straight.
When you sit up straight with your back against the chair, your body is in an “open” position. This position tells your brain to be more confident and alert (警觉的). 42 It makes you feel tired and less confident, which can lead to worse test scores.
◆Keep your feet on the floor.
Your feet are the base of your body. When they are flat on the floor, you feel more grounded and stable (稳定的). This stability helps your brain focus better. 43
◆Use active listening posture.
When the teacher is talking, lean (倾斜) forward a little bit. Don’t put your head down on the desk. This small movement shows your brain that you are interested. 44 You will remember more of what the teacher says.
◆Take “posture breaks”.
Sitting in one position for a long time is not good. Every 20 minutes, stretch your arms or roll your shoulders. 45 This sends more oxygen to your brain, helping you stay fresh.
So, next time you are in class, remember: sit up, listen actively, and take short breaks. A good posture might be the secret key to unlocking your potential!
A. Crossing your legs is very helpful.
B. This helps your blood move better.
C. However, sitting with a rounded back (驼背) has the opposite effect.
