Hani Rice Terraces(哈尼梯田)
I’m going to talk about the Hani Rice Terraces in Yunnan.
Built in the mountains over 1,300 years ago, the terraces cover around 180,000 hectares公顷 and extend分布 at a height of about 1,500 metres. Water from mountain springs山泉 flows past流经 the villages, through the terraces, and finally into rivers. Forests, villages, terraces and waterways水系 all work together in a natural cycle.
Because of this system, people can harvest收获 rice and fish. It has also helped protect the forest and provide clean water.
It shows us why we should live in harmony with nature. By respecting nature, we can benefit from受益于 nature’s gifts.
