Dear foreign friends,
I’m Li Hua, a senior three student. Hearing that you are going to visit our school next week, I’m so honored to introduce one of the most distinctive and influential clubs on our campus—the Robot Association.
When it comes to a club that best represent creativity and teamwork, the Robot Association undoubtedly stands out. It is an innovative community open to all students who show enthusiasm for science, technology and hands-on practice. In this club, you can enjoy professional training facilities and gathers students with diverse strengths, ranging from programming lovers to mechanical design lovers, making the learning process lively and rewarding.
The foundation of the club is driven by two clear and far-reaching goals. For one thing, it is designed to fuel students’ passion for science and technology, and equip us with critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities that cannot be easily acquired in daily classes. For another, it intends to provide a challenging platform where we can cooperate closely, communicate effectively and translate creative ideas into concrete products.
As a matter of fact, the actual effects of the club have gone far beyond our expectations. Members have greatly improved their hands-on skills and innovative awareness, and many have won awards in various robot competitions. Beyond individual achievements, the club has also brought about profound changes to our campus life. It enriches our after-class experience, strengthens our sense of teamwork and builds up our confidence in facing challenges.
In short, the Robot Association is more than a club; it is a journey of exploration, creation and growth. Hope that you can feel the charm of it after the visit.

Dear Principal,
I’m Li Hua, a Senior Three student. Learning that our school is going to hold the Campus Science and Technology & Culture Festival, I’m writing to submit my activity proposal.
The activity I plan is named "Tech Inspires Youth" Science Creation Show. Its main purpose is to enrich students’ after-school life, arouse our interest in science and technology, and encourage us to combine creative thinking with practical skills.
The activity will consist of three main parts. First, a works exhibition will be held in the school hall. Students can display their hand-made inventions, creative science models and tech-related paintings. Visitors will vote for the most popular works on the spot. Second, we will invite several science teachers to give short lectures about cutting-edge technology, helping us learn more about recent scientific achievements. Third, there will be a group challenge game about basic tech knowledge, where students can compete and learn in a relaxing atmosphere.
I believe this activity will bring wonderful results. Not only can students gain more tech knowledge, but they will also become more creative and cooperative. Meanwhile, it will create a strong atmosphere of loving science across our campus.
I would appreciate it if you could take my proposal into consideration. Looking forward to your reply.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua

Dear Editor,
I’m Wang Hua from Mingqi High School. I’m writing to contribute an article to your school newspaper, reflecting on/concerning/focusing on/concentrating on the theme the distance between people.
As far as I am concerned, the distance between people is never merely physical. Instead, it is more about the emotional and spiritual gap that separates individuals. A short physical space does not guarantee close connection, while sincere communication can bridge/shorten the emotional distance even between strangers. Modern life often makes people buried in their own worlds, which easily creates invisible barriers in interpersonal relationships.
A personal experience can help to illustrate my point. On a cold winter morning, I saw an elderly neighbor struggling to carry heavy groceries upstairs. Most passers-by just walked by indifferently, keeping to themselves and staying glued to their phones. Without hesitation, I stepped forward to give him a hand. After we finished carrying the things home, he smiled warmly and thanked me repeatedly. Simple as the act was, it instantly melted the cold silence and narrowed the emotional distance between us.
What this experience enlightened/inspired me is that/What I learned from this experience the emotional distance between us is not unchangeable. A kind word, a small favor or a sincere smile can serve as a bridge to break down indifference. If we are willing to reach out to others with warmth and sincerity, we will surely build closer and more harmonious bonds/ties, making our world a much warmer place to live in.
Yours sincerely,
Wang Hua

As a famous psychologist puts it, what defines us is not our thoughts, but our actions. From my perspective, inner thoughts are merely empty intentions, while real deeds truly reveal our personality, courage and values. We can fancy being brave or responsible in mind, but only concrete actions can tell who we really are.
To better understand this saying, I would like to share a difficult choice I once faced. Last term, our class needed a volunteer to host the English party. I admired those confident hosts and really wanted to have a try, yet fear of stage fright held me back. For days I hesitated, trapped between longing and anxiety. Eventually, I gathered my courage and signed up without further hesitation.
It was this practical action that greatly deepened my self-awareness. I spared time to practice repeatedly and performed steadily on the stage. I realized I was not as timid as I had imagined. Mere thinking could never change me, but brave action helped me tap into my hidden potential. Truly, it is our actions, not our vague thoughts, that break us away from inner hesitation and endless self-doubt. From this lesson, I have come to know that only by turning intention into action can we grow into a better version of ourselves.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Wilson,
I hope you're doing well. Reflecting on my wonderful homestay experience with your family last winter, I recall how the cluttered garage occasionally caused inconvenience. After returning to China, I discussed this with a professional organizer and learned some valuable techniques that might help transform your garage into a more functional space.Clutter accumulation poses several hidden challenges. Physically, it restricts movement and access to items you genuinely need, like gardening tools or holiday decorations.Overflowing boxes often harbor dust and pests, potentially affecting indoor air quality. Psychologically, disorganization can subconsciously elevate stress levels, as the brain constantly processes visual chaos. Moreover, emergency situations-such as locating a first-aid kit--become riskier when pathways are blocked. Studies even show that organized spaces improve productivity and mental clarity.
To address this, I'd recommend a three-phase approach. Begin by sorting items into categories: essentials (e.g., call maintenance tools). seasonal items (e.... Christmas decorations),. and donations/discards. Be ruthless-if an item hasn't been used in 18 months, it's likely unnecessary. Next, invest in space-saving solutions. Install ceiling-mounted racks for bicycles, wall pegboards for tools, and stackable transparent bins labeled by category. For bulky items like tents, vacuum-seal bags can reduce volume by 70%%. Lastly, designate zones-a "workbench area" for repairs, a "'sports corner" for equipment-to maintain order. Regular mini-cleanups (15 minutes weekly) prevent re-cluttering.Your kindness during my stay inspired me to share these ideas. I've attached photos of my own organized garage in Shanghai for reference. Please don't hesitate to ask if you'd like further details!
Warm regards,
Li Hua

Dear Mike,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your roommates. I totally understand how uncomfortable and upset you must feel. Here are some practical suggestions for you.
First of all, I advise you to have an honest and gentle talk with your roommates face to face. You can politely tell them your feelings instead of keeping silent. Smoking indoors is harmful to everyone’s health, and loud videos late at night will disturb others’ rest. Also, remind them that good personal hygiene is important for a comfortable living environment. Since they may not realize their bad habits bother others, a sincere talk will help them understand your trouble.
Besides, you can discuss some basic dorm rules together. Set clear time for rest and require everyone to keep good living habits. Rules will guide all of you to get along well. What’s more, you can take part in more group activities with your roommates in your spare time. A closer relationship will make it easier to solve daily problems.
I believe your roommates will listen to you and make changes. Hope you can enjoy a pleasant dorm life soon.
Yours,
Li Ming
