根据第二段“For instance, electrical equipment sold in the European Union must carry the “CE” mark. (例如,在欧盟销售的电气设备必须带有CE标识)”可知,相机作为电气设备,在欧洲销售必须带有CE标识。故选D。
22.细节理解题。根据WARNING部分“To avoid danger of choke, keep this plastic bag away from babies and children. (为避免窒息风险,请将此塑料袋远离婴幼儿)”及“This product contains a button cell or coin battery. A swallowed button cell or coin battery can cause Internal Chemical Burns. Battery liquid is poisonous and can cause dizziness and other serious symptoms. (本产品含有纽扣电池。吞下纽扣电池可能导致体内化学灼伤。电池液有毒,可能引发头晕及其他严重症状)”可知,提到了窒息风险(Choking)、化学灼伤(Burns)和中毒(Poisoning),但没有提到割伤(Cuts)相关的风险。故选C。
23.细节理解题。根据第三段“The “RoHS” mark shows a product limits harmful materials under EU rules (RoHS标识表明该产品按照欧盟法规限制了有害物质的使用)”及标签上的RoHS标识可知,该产品限制了某些有害物质的使用。故选A。

根据第一段““I was worried about losing my identity as a professional. What else can I be?” she thought. (“我担心自己作为专业人士的身份会丧失。那我还能做些什么呢?”她这样想。)”可知,她退休时的担忧是失去职业身份,害怕除了职业身份之外自己不知还能成为什么样的人。选项C“Having no identity beyond career (除了职业之外没有其他身份认同)”与此直接对应。
25.细节理解题。根据第三段“She baked her first pie and gave it to her 88-year-old aunt, Carol. As a teenager, Mia had moved in with her aunt’s family when her mother became ill. “They gave me stability... It was the perfect first pie,” she says. She went on giving pies to former colleagues, grocery clerks, even a homeless man. As word spread, she got known as “the pie lady”. A“She had given Mia a home (她曾给米娅一个家)”的表述。
根据第四段““I’m a planner by nature, training and profession. What I really liked about it was that planning takes time, chaos, many different components, puts them all together and makes them into something manageable.” She sees the same in baking pies: “You take a bunch of ingredients and create something out of them.”( “我天生就是个规划师,这是我的训练和职业。我真正喜欢的是规划工作,规划需要时间,它要把混乱和众多不同的要素整合起来,使之变得井然有序。”她在烘焙馅饼时也发现了同样的道理:“你将各种食材混合在一起,就能创造出新的成果。”)”可知,通过米娅的类比,两者的共同之处在于都是将纷繁杂乱的不同元素组合成有序、有意义的整体,即选项B“Both make sense of mixed elements (两者都让混合的元素变得有条理) ”。
根据倒数第二段““What really came out of it was the understanding that I was someone who could do new things,” she reflects. “And my professional identity wasn’t critical to who I am.”(最重要的是,这件事让我明白自己能够尝试新事物,”她回忆道,“而且我的职业身份并不决定我的本质。”)” B“New challenges redefine who we are (新挑战重新定义了我们是谁)”的内涵。

根据原文第一段“Every novel transports readers into the middle of true, real-life catastrophes. Whether it is a shocking weather event or a widespread plague, each story illustrates how a kid rises to the occasion. (每一本小说都将读者带入真实的生活灾难之中。无论是令人震惊的天气事件还是大范围的瘟疫,每个故事都展示了一个孩子是如何奋起应对的。)” 可知,该系列的核心特征是每个故事都关于处于真实灾难中的孩子,故选B。
29.推理判断题。根据原文第三段““A lot of kids have suggested this topic and asked for a story about the Great Depression. So this is sort of two books in one. My research for the new novel was exciting because I visited places I had never been to. It’s been a great experience,” she said.(她说:“很多孩子都提议过这个主题,还希望我写一个关于大萧条的故事。所以这本书有点像两本书合二为一。我为这部新小说做的研究很令人兴奋,因为我去了很多从未去过的地方。这是一段很棒的经历。”)”以及第四段“I saw that when there was a topic featuring a real kid at its heart, those were the stories that kids really liked to read (我发现,当一个故事的核心是关于一个真实的孩子时,那些是孩子们真的喜欢读的故事)” 可知,Tarshis的创作以读者需求为中心,且主题具有深刻意义,故选D。
根据原文第五段“Although each book in the series may be a page-turner, the messages and themes are long-lasting and impactful. (虽然该系列的每本书都可能是一本page-turner,但它们传达的信息和主题却持久而有影响力。)”可知,前后构成转折让步关系,说明这本书不只是“好看过瘾”而已,它还有更深刻、更长久的价值。 可知,“page-turner”指的是能让读者爱不释手、保持阅读兴趣的书,即让读者投入的书,故选C。
31.推理判断题。根据原文第五段““I want kids to learn about the world and places they didn’t know about but now feel connected to. I want them to see that people go through really hard things, and it’s not just about surviving. It’s about healing, finding help, and being patient about recovering from something scary.”

根据第三段中“Drops of water, hours of light, bits of feed, changes in temperature—all are valuable data points that help boost the cricket life cycle from birth to cricket flour.(水滴、数小时的光照、少量饲料、温度变化——所有这些都是有价值的数据点,有助于促进蟋蟀从出生到被磨成蟋蟀粉的生命周期)”可知,三位创始人通过收集数据来改善蟋蟀的生命周期,从而提高产量。
根据第四段中“Crickets contain more protein than beef, more calcium than milk, and more iron than cabbage. Crickets need just 2 pounds of food for every eatable pound they become.(蟋蟀含有比牛肉更多的蛋白质,比牛奶更多的钙,比卷心菜更多的铁。蟋蟀每长出一磅可食用部分只需要两磅食物)”可知,从第四段可以了解到蟋蟀作为食物的营养优势和资源消耗少的优点。
34.细节理解题。 根据最后一段中“Over the next year or so, Ashour expects 70 to 80 percent of the cricket-raising process will be automated with highly skilled workers doing the rest.(在接下来的一年左右,Ashour预计70%到80%的蟋蟀养殖过程将实现自动化,由高技能工人完成其余工作)”可知,Ashour认为Aspire首先需要的是自动化系统来处理大部分工作。
根据全文内容,尤其是第五段中“That has businessmen betting big that eating insects will be an important part of the world hunger solution.(这使得商人们大力押注,认为食用昆虫将成为解决世界饥饿问题的重要组成部分)”可知,文章主要讲述了昆虫养殖作为解决世界粮食问题的一种尝试。因此最佳标题为B项“Insect Farming: An attempt to Feed the World(昆虫养殖:养活世界的尝试)”。
空前“Confidence is infectious. Someone who speaks with total certainty is more likely to inspire than someone who is hesitant. (自信是能够感染他人的特质。一个完全自信的人比一个犹豫不决的人更能激发他人。)”说自信具有感染力,肯定确信的人比犹豫的人更能鼓舞他人。空后出现“It found that more confident letters were associated with more successful commercial co-operations. (该研究发现,更自信的信件往往能促成更成功的商业合作。)”,其中It found表明前文应提到某项研究,且研究内容涉及letters。选项B“A study analysed the language used in letters from investors. (一项研究分析了投资者信件中使用的语言。)”恰好引入一项分析投资者信件语言的研究,与后文more confident letters完美衔接。
37.空前“In a 2012 study, MBA students were asked to take an online survey. The questionnaire asked them if they knew certain names, events and works of art. (在 2012 年的一项研究中,商学院的学生们被要求完成一项在线调查。问卷询问他们是否知晓某些名字、事件和艺术作品。)”描述2012年研究中的问卷让MBA学生识别一些名字、事件和艺术品。空后“At the end of the term, classmates rated the overly confident students — those who had picked the most fictional entries — as the most influential. (学期结束时,同学们认为那些过于自信的学生——那些选出最多虚构条目的人——是最有影响力的。)”说学期末同学们将那些选了最多虚构条目的人评为最有影响力。由此可推,学生答题时并不知道部分选项是虚构的,选项A“They didn’t know that some of the choices were made up. (他们不知道其中的一些选择是虚构的。)”中的They指代前文的MBA学生,made up与后文fictional entries呼应,逻辑通顺。
本段开头空白后“One study found that overconfident bosses were more likely to buy other companies. These purchases were also more likely to fail. (一项研究发现,过度自信的老板更有可能收购其他公司。这些收购也更有可能失败。)”说研究发现过度自信的老板更可能收购其他公司,但这些收购更易失败。此处语义发生转折,从讲好处转向讲风险。选项E“As much as confidence brings rewards, however, it also brings danger. (然而,尽管自信会带来回报,但它也带来危险。)”中的however体现转折,brings danger引出后文过度自信的负面后果,承上启下功能明确。
39.空前“Researchers found that bosses with too much self-belief were slower to adjust their forecasts when they were wrong. (研究人员发现,过于自信的老板在预测出现错误时调整预测的速度更慢。)”说研究人员发现过度自信的CEO在预测出错时调整预测更慢。空白处位于段末,需对该研究发现进行总结或评述。选项“Simply put, overconfident bosses stayed wrong for a longer time. (简单来说,过度自信的老板会在错误上停留更长时间。)”C用Simply put引出对前文内容的通俗概括,stayed wrong for a longer time正是slower to adjust their forecasts when they were wrong的同义转述。
40.空前“Second, self-doubters need encouragement to fulfil their potential. (其次,自我怀疑者需要鼓励来充分发挥他们的潜力。)”给出第二条建议:自我怀疑者需要鼓励以发挥潜能。空后“Studies showed that when people were reminded of their own power, they performed better in interviews and presentations. Confidence can be natural. It can also be stimulated. (有研究表明,当人们被提醒自己的力量时,他们在面试和演示中的表现会更好。自信可以是自然而然的。它也可以被激发。)”举例说当人们被提醒自身力量时,在面试和演讲中表现更好。可见空白处需衔接“鼓励”的来源或方式。选项G“This support can come from managers, advisors, or even from themselves. (这种支持可以来自经理、顾问,甚至来自他们自己。)”中的This support回指前文的encouragement,并具体说明鼓励可来自谁,且even from themselves自然引出后文reminded of their own power。

Dear Tom,
I’m writing to share my experience of the low-carbon hiking activity themed “Reducing Our Carbon Footprint” last Sunday.
Held in the city park, the activity attracted many participants. We walked along the river, carried reusable bottles and picked up litter to reduce pollution. During the break, volunteers also introduced low-carbon lifestyles.

The audience was surprised. Few had expected this result from him. The silence gave way to wild applause. The next rounds brought both cheers and disappointments, but all rounds went great for Peter. On his final attempt, someone from behind him suddenly shouted, “He can’t do it; he can’t even see straight! Ha, ha!” Peter felt lost. He was extremely nervous and felt as if everyone was watching him, similar to the feeling he had when meeting the two women in the supermarket.
At this moment, Mom’s encouraging words appeared in his mind. “You can do it, Peter. You are greater than you think. Show them you are no less than anyone. I know you can do it. I believe in you.” Peter felt like his mother was right beside him. He pulled the string and released the arrow. It flew through the air and hit the target perfectly, leaving the judges thoroughly impressed. Peter had made it. His win clearly showed that he was indeed, one in a hundred.

Text 10
Dear Simon, it was great to see you again on Saturday. I knew we would have a lot to talk about, but even so, I had never expected that we would talk for four hours non-stop. It reminded me of when we first met in Mr. Carrol's class at Waterfold High. (17) Anyway, I'm sending you this letter because I forgot to mention something on Saturday. My sister Ivy is having a birthday party next month, and she told me to ask if you would like to come. (18) I think you might want to be there because it'll be held at our local golf club, and I know how much you love golf. (19) It should be a good party. There will be plenty of flowers, food, and a disco if you feel like dancing. We might also have time for a quick game of golf, but if it rains, there is a pool table we could use. Let me know if you are interested in coming to the party. Don't worry about bringing Ivy an expensive gift. I'm sure she'll be happy with just a box of chocolates. (20) I hope to see you again soon.

In today’s global trade, product safety is extremely important. Therefore, labels on products help consumers make informed choices.
The primary function of these marks is to ensure the safety of users and property. For instance, electrical equipment sold in the European Union must carry the “CE” mark. This sign proves that the product meets all relevant EU standards. Unlike an official approval, it is based on the company’s own evaluation. In contrast, the Chinese “CCC” mark requires testing by an official organization, and a certificate must be obtained. Products without the “CCC” mark cannot be sold in China.
Other marks are also important. The French “FR” sign instructs consumers to separate packaging for recycling. The “RoHS” mark shows a product limits harmful materials under EU rules, but as it is merely one part of the CE standard, it does not ensure full compliance (遵守). Codes like “SKC / SKU” are simply used by companies to manage their product storage. Most importantly, products must have clear safety warnings on their labels, or they will be banned from the market.
Below is a product label:
▲ WARNING ♠ To avoid danger of choke, keep this plastic bag away from babies and children.
♠ Do not use it in beds, carriages or playpens.
▲ WARNING ♠ This product contains a button cell or coin battery.
♠ A swallowed button cell or coin battery can cause Internal Chemical Burns.
♠ Battery liquid is poisonous and can cause dizziness and other serious symptoms.
21. Which mark is required for a camera to be sold in Europe?
A. FR. B. SKC. C. RoHS. D. CE.
22. Which risk is least likely to occur for this product?
A. Burns. B. Poisoning. C. Cuts. D. Choking.
23. What can be learned about this product according to the label?
A. It restricts certain harmful substances. B. It can be opened by children alone.
C. Its packaging cannot be recycled. D. It is allowed to be sold in China.
B
When Mia Woods retired at 61, she knew she needed a plan. “I was worried about losing my identity as a professional. What else can I be?” she thought.
The year before, she had been told she had a mild memory problem. “I was trying to show myself that I could still think and be creative,” she says. So she decided to do — rather than be — something new: bake a pie every day for a year and give each pie away. “It made me reach out every day to somebody, so I wouldn’t be alone. And it gave me a routine,” she says.
She baked her first pie and gave it to her 88-year-old aunt, Carol. As a teenager, Mia had moved in with her aunt’s family when her mother became ill. “They gave me stability… It was the perfect first pie,” she says. She went on giving pies to former colleagues, grocery clerks, even a homeless man. As word spread, she got known as “the pie lady”.
For more than 30 years, Mia had worked as a city planner. “I’m a planner by nature, training and profession. What I really liked about it was that planning takes time, chaos, many different components, puts them all together and makes them into something manageable.” She sees the same in baking pies: “You take a bunch of ingredients and create something out of them.”
Twelve years on, Mia has continued to invent new projects, including writing a letter a day, and painting pictures of her local sky. She is writing a book about the pie experience. But she has learned more than baking. “What really came out of it was the understanding that I was someone who could do new things,” she reflects. “And my professional identity wasn’t critical to who I am.”
“Even now, after I have an encounter with somebody, I think: ‘There’s a person I wish I could give a pie to.’” says Mia.
24. What was Mia’s worry when she retired?
A. Her serious mental problem. B. Her being cut off from others.
C. Having no identity beyond career. D. Having to change her daily routine.
25. Why did Mia give her first pie to her aunt?
A. She had given Mia a home.
B. She had cared for Mia’s mum.
C. She was the oldest in the family.
D. She had built Mia’s stable character.
26. What do city planning and baking pies have in common according to Mia?
A. Both require professional training.
B. Both make sense of mixed elements.
C. Both create something out of nothing.
D. Both connect people with one another.
27. What is Mia’s reflection on her experience?
A. Everyone in the world deserves a pie.
B. New challenges redefine who we are.
C. Opening up to changes takes courage.
D. Simple acts can bring people together.
C
About 15 years ago, a humble idea for a historical fiction series erupted into a worldwide literary phenomenon, now known as the I Survived series. Every novel transports readers into the middle of true, real-life catastrophes. Whether it is a shocking weather event or a widespread plague (瘟疫), each story illustrates how a kid rises to the occasion.
In 2010, Lauren Tarshis released her first book. She never could have imagined that over the next 15 years, the series would become a bestseller, printing over 20 million copies to date. Tarshis has published 25 novels in the series and her newest release came out last October.
Tarshis visited the Blue Willow Bookshop’s Tweens Read Book Festival at Dobie High School in Houston and spoke about her recent novel, in which a boy named Ray fights the dangers of the Dust Bowl in the Panhandle of Texas. “A lot of kids have suggested this topic and asked for a story about the Great Depression. So this is sort of two books in one. My research for the new novel was exciting because I visited places I had never been to. It’s been a great experience,” she said.
The idea for the series originated in her family. Tarshis, a mother of four, noticed her son Dylan was having a hard time finding books he enjoyed. “Dylan said to me, ‘I want to read a book about a cool topic with a main character that’s a kid like me.’ That was really a big inspiration. I saw that when there was a topic featuring a real kid at its heart, those were the stories that kids really liked to read,” she said.
Although each book in the series may be a page-turner, the messages and themes are long-lasting and impactful. “I want kids to learn about the world and places they didn’t know about but now feel connected to. I want them to see that people go through really hard things, and it’s not just about surviving. It’s about healing, finding help, and being patient about recovering from something scary.”
28. What is a key feature of the I Survived series?
A. Each story is set during the 20th century.
B. Each story is about a child in a real disaster.
C. Each story pictures a child’s real school life.
D. Each story presents historical events in detail.
29. What can be inferred from paragraph 3 and paragraph 4 about Tarshis’s writing?
A. It avoids hardship and emotional depths.
B. It centers on entertainment over education.
C. It’s mainly based on personal experiences.
D. It’s reader-focused with meaningful themes.
30. What does the underlined word “page-turner” mean?
A. A book that is hard to read.
B. A book that tells true stories.
C. A book that keeps readers engaged.
D. A book that changes readers’ habits.
31. What message is mainly conveyed through Tarshis’s novels?
A. History is full of unexpected events.
B. Survival depends on luck and external help.
C. Reading is the best way to understand the past.
D. True courage involves enduring and overcoming hardship.
D
In a dark house in Austin, Texas, a team of robots and scientists is raising millions of crickets (蟋蟀) every month. Once fully grown, these insects are roasted and seasoned, or ground (磨碎) into flour.
This cricket farm is the innovation of Gabe Mott, Shobhita Soor and Mohammed Ashour, founders of Aspire Food Group. To launch the farm, they had to think big about crickets. No one had raised them for human consumption on this scale before. “We had to walk away from everything in the scientific literature,” Mott says.
The group now runs constant tests on every box of food that’s produced — and about a million crickets are raised each day. Drops of water, hours of light, bits of feed, changes in temperature — all are valuable data points that help boost the cricket life cycle from birth to cricket flour.
Pound for pound, crickets and other eatable insects provide a lot for the planet’s resources. Crickets contain more protein than beef, more calcium (钙) than milk, and more iron than cabbage. Crickets need just 2 pounds of food for every eatable pound. they become. However, cows require 25 pounds of food for per pound of beef. Because it demands so many resources, the beef industry is a significant greenhouse gas contributor and driver of deforestation.
As the Earth’s population increases by billions in the coming decades, food production must double to feed everyone. That has businessmen betting big that eating insects will be an important part of the world hunger solution. Among the companies doing the business are Aspire, Tiny Farms and Bitty Foods.
But these companies must do their best to meet demand. Aspire’s main concerns are scale and efficiency, so they’re using data to maximize production. And crickets are perfect data generators. Their life lasts just months, providing a great opportunity to analyse every moment to perfect production. The company’s engineers designed feeder robots that look after the crickets, adding just the right amount of food and water they need. Over the next year or so, Ashour expects 70 to.80 percent of the cricket-raising process will be automated with highly skilled workers doing the rest.
32. How do the three founders run the cricket farm?
A. They feed crickets healthy food.
B. They learn a lot from the beef industry.
C. They try to improve the cricket life cycle.
D. They keep an eye on crickets’ movements.
33. What can we learn about crickets according to Paragraph 4?
A. Their research value. B. Their advantages as food.
C. Their diet and living habits. D. Their widespread popularity.
34. What will Aspire need first according to Ashour?
A. More research on cricket marketing.
B. Highly skilled workers to do constant tests.
C. A larger number of crickets to be raised daily.
D. Automated systems to handle most of the work.
35. What may be the best title for the text?
A. How to Raise Crickets for Food in Your Home
B. Insect Farming: An attempt to Feed the World
C. Beef Industry: A Major Cause of Global Warming
D. Crickets: A Perfect Data Generator for Scientists
Confidence is infectious. Someone who speaks with total certainty is more likely to inspire than someone who is hesitant. 36 It found that more confident letters were associated with more successful commercial co-operations.
Confidence — even overconfidence — can also lead to higher status. In a 2012 study, MBA students were asked to take an online survey. The questionnaire asked them if they knew certain names, events and works of art. 37 At the end of the term, classmates rated the overly confident students — those who had picked the most fictional entries — as the most influential.
38 One study found that overconfident bosses were more likely to buy other companies. These purchases were also more likely to fail. Another paper looked at the link between CEOs’ confidence and their earning forecasts. Researchers found that bosses with too much self-belief were slower to adjust their forecasts when they were wrong. 39
This leads to two broad suggestions for managers to reflect on. First, overconfident people need clear rules. A newspaper found that puffed-up bosses at high-tech firms had a better record of making breakthrough innovations if they were watched by powerful and expert boards. Second, self-doubters need encouragement to fulfil their potential. 40 Studies showed that when people were reminded of their own power, they performed better in interviews and presentations. Confidence can be natural. It can also be stimulated.
A. They didn’t know that some of the choices were made up.
B. A study analysed the language used in letters from investors.
C. Simply put, overconfident bosses stayed wrong for a longer time.
D. Overconfident people tend to be promoted to leadership positions.
E. As much as confidence brings rewards, however, it also brings danger.
F. Therefore, experts suggest creating a more relaxing work environment.
G. This support can come from managers, advisors, or even from themselves.

Peter drew back the bowstring (弓弦), his eyes focused on the little red target. He decided to prove himself. He couldn’t afford to let anything stand in his way. He was going to win and he was sure of it.
Peter was born cross-eyed (斗鸡眼). His parents had been informed by the doctor that it was a rare condition, influencing only about one in a hundred newborns. Despite their best efforts to ensure he never felt different, there were moments when he couldn’t get over that feeling.
One day, while grocery shopping with his mother, Peter was sized up by two women. One of them said, “Oh my! What happened to him? Glasses at such a young age, poor kid!” The other shook her head, leaving Peter’s mother with no choice but to lead him away from their comments.
Peter discovered his condition on his first day of school when he was eight. While Peter was eating his sandwich quietly during the lunch break, a boy came up to him and asked, “What’s wrong with your eyes?” Peter stopped eating. How could he explain when he didn’t fully understand himself? His parents had never told him about his condition, saying that his eyes were perfect. Yet, if they were good, why did others find them strange?
Now Peter was in high school and an archery competition was coming up. He loved the sport and wanted to prove himself to those who doubted his future. Every afternoon after school, he would go to the archery range, practicing drawing the bow and aiming. He adjusted his posture repeatedly, learned to focus his unique vision to his advantage, and gradually mastered the skill. Peter signed up, believing that his cross-eyed condition would not stop him from achieving greatness — and his hard training had already given him the strength to compete.
The day of the competition arrived. Competitors showcased their archery skills, and then it was Peter’s turn to take his first shot. He raised his bow, drew back the arrow (箭), and released it. The arrow moved through the air and reached the target dead center.

I knew we would have a lot to talk about, but even so, I had never expected that we would talk for four hours on stop. IT reminded me of when we first met that mr. Caro's class at waterfall high. Anyway, i'm sending you this letter because I forgot to mention something on saturday, my sister ivy is having a birthday party next month, and he told me to ask if you would like to come. I think you might want to be there because it'll be held at our local golf club. And I know how much you love golf. IT should be a good party. There will be plenty of flowers, food and a disco if you feel like dancing. We might also have time for a quick game of golf. But if IT rains, there is a poll table we could use. Let me know if you are interested in coming to the party. Don't worry about bringing IV and expensive gift. I'm sure you'll be happy with just a box of chocolates. I hope to see you again soon.
