work as后面接具体职业;work with后接人,两项搭配均不符合后文“the project”。
根据时间状语“In the past”确定时态为一般过去时,crops和sell是被动关系,应选用were sold,表示“被售卖”。
根据后文“sell crops on livestreaming apps”是做事的方式,应选用how,表示“如何、怎样”。
III.

Nowadays, we celebrate Labor Day to show respect for workers and their contribution to society. In ancient China, there was no holiday that was exactly the same as today’s Labor Day. However, the second day of the second lunar month, also known as the Dragon Head-raising Day, served as a special festival to honor farming culture and hard-working farmers across the country.
This tradition began more than 3000 years ago. It was strictly observed by royal families, who kept following and carrying it forward all the time. On that day, the emperor would go to farmlands to plow (耕地) the land in person, followed by his officials. The special ceremony showed sincere respect for farmers and labor. The custom lasted continuously for thousands of years. During the Ming and Qing Dynasty, emperors kept a small piece of farmland in central Beijing. That is where the well-known idiom "one’s own small piece of land" began. People now still use it to describe their personal life and work space.
For common people, the festival also carried great importance. Families prepared traditional food such as pancakes and noodles and wished for a good harvest (丰收). Besides this festival for labor, girls in ancient times had their unique celebration, the Qiqiao Festival, on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. Young girls would gather under moonlight and compete to thread a needle as skillfully as possible.
These time-honored traditions remind us that labor is the most valuable virtue (美德). Even after thousands of years, we still carry on the wisdom of our ancestors.
24. According to the passage, which is NOT true about the Dragon Head-raising Day?
A. It was a festival to respect farming culture and farmers.
B. It has a long history of about 3,000 years.
C. Both royal families and common people celebrated it.
D. It was the same as today’s Labor Day.
25. The phrase “one’s own small piece of land” is most probably used by a person in real life now when ________.
A. he wants to keep his quiet private world away from others
B. he wants to have his own small field in central Beijing
C. he plans to take part in a traditional festival
D. he hopes to rest and relax from the busy life
26. Which sentence uses “observe” with the same meaning as the underlined word?
observe /əbˈzɜːv/ v.
A. She observed excitedly that the plan was so perfect.
B. Farmers observe the farming customs for a good harvest.
C. The scientist often goes to the forest to observe wild animals closely.
D. I didn’t observe any change in his daily behavior.
27. What’s the best title for the passage?
A. The Hidden Beauty of Chinese Old Customs B. The History of Modern Labor Day
C. Old Folk Customs, Rich Qiqiao Culture D. Ancient Festivals: Honoring Labor Spirit
D 25. A 26. B 27. D
第一段第二句“In ancient China, there was no holiday that was exactly the same as today’s Labor Day.”
第二段末尾的句子“People now still use it to describe their personal life and work space.”
文中划线词“observed”出现在“It was strictly observed by royal families”,意为皇室严格“遵守、奉行”这一传统。

Three wins, one secret
In the early 2000s, LEGO, one of the world’s most beloved toy companies, nearly went out of business. To save itself, it chose a new way: teamwork. Employees from different departments worked closely to improve production, and fans were invited to share their ideas through the LEGO Ideas platform. This platform gave birth to some of LEGO’s most successful products, like sets based on popular movies. The teamwork spirit within and outside the company breathed new life into LEGO, making it a strong and successful brand once again.
In 1970, an oxygen tank exploded (爆炸) on the Apollo 13, turning the routine mission to the moon into a fight for survival. The lives of the three astronauts were in great danger. With the world watching, NASA engineers worked day and night, racing to find solutions to save the astronauts. As systems failed and danger increased, different teams of experts were invited to NASA. They pooled their knowledge to deal with each emergency when it appeared. Up in space, the astronauts also pulled together by supporting each other, following instructions perfectly as well as overcoming challenges together. In the end, the astronauts returned to Earth safely. This mission later became known as a “successful failure”.
At the turn of the 20th century, Wilbur Wright and Orville Wright made the human dream of flight a reality. Their journey to invent the first successful airplane was not the work of one talented person. Wilbur and Orville worked as a team. Wilbur had a wide knowledge of flight theory, while Orville was good at practical engineering. This perfect partnership enabled them not only to experiment but also to improve their designs quickly. With strong will and trust in each other, the Wright Brothers made the first controlled, powered flight in 1903, totally changing the future of transportation.

Have you ever talked back to your parents when you disagree with them? In the heat of the moment, you might say something hurtful. But later, you always feel sorry. Maybe you know you shouldn’t argue with them like that, but you can’t always control your words. Hey there! I know exactly how it feels. When I was in middle school, I used to talk back angrily when I felt upset because of disagreements with my parents. But over time, I learned a few small things that really helped. Maybe they can help you to learn how to communicate better with your parents and show them more respect.
First, try to take a deep breath before you answer your parents. It helps you calm down and speak more kindly. For example, if they ask you to clean the kitchen when you have a big exam the next day, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and then explain that you need to study.
Also, learn to see things from your parents’ side. When they seem unreasonable, ask yourself why they are acting this way. Maybe they are tired from work, worried about your future, or just repeating what their own parents did. Accepting that they, like everyone, aren’t perfect helps you reply with more patience and have less conflict.
Spending a little time talking with them every day makes a difference too. One day, my mum asked about a game I liked, and I explained it for ten minutes. It felt nice. Then I started setting aside just 10 to 15 minutes after dinner to share something small with my parents. It didn’t solve every problem, but it built a bridge. Over time, those little conversations made the bigger talks easier.
Finally, don’t be afraid to say sorry or to forgive. After arguments, I used to stay silent for days. But gradually, I realized saying “I’m sorry” or “It’s OK” helped us move on faster. It’s not easy, but it really helps us feel lighter inside.
Those small steps change my relationship with my parents slowly, surely, and deeply. At the same time, I gradually find myself changing from a bad-tempered (坏脾气的) person to a kind and gentle one, growing more patient and understanding. You can start with just one and see how it feels.
The writer shares his ____54____ when upset, but then he felt regretful later. To help people like him build better communication and respect, ____55____ Firstly, stop to calm down before speaking. Secondly, ____56____ After all no one is perfect, so we need to reply with more patience. Moreover, more small talk and learning to say sorry or forgive after arguments helps. These small steps gradually and deeply change his relationship with his parents and ____57____.

例文
Dear classmates and teachers,
Looking back on the past three years, every corner of our school holds some special memories.
Among all places, I love the warm library with soft light best. Last term, I was nervous about my school English speech and wanted to give it up. My close friend found my worry and accompanied me in the library after school every day. We practiced the speech again and again, fixed my pronunciation and adjusted my expressions little by little. With her support, I made obvious progress and finished the speech successfully in the end.
In this cozy library, I feel the warmth of sincere friendship. It brings me happiness and precious growth, and makes me learn to cherish our short but wonderful school time.
Thank you for listening!
