During this May Day holiday, a low-cost movie named Dear You (《给阿嬷的情书》) deeply touched viewers’ hearts. In today's fast-paced world, it is quite challenging to catch people's eye. Why were so many people moved to tears while watching this movie?
The story follows a young man named Xiaowei. He travels to Thailand to find his grandfather, only to discover the old man died years ago. To his shock, Xiaowei learns that the person who has been exchanging letters with his grandma actually is not his grandfather, but a stranger — a woman named XieNanzhi. Xiaowei's grandfather died about 20 years ago. To protect the grandma from the pain of losing her husband, Xie secretly wrote letters in grandfather's name. These letters are actually Chaoshan qiaopi — a special type of letter that includes money sent by overseas (海外的) Chinese to their families back home. More than 90% of the story comes from real life. Qiaopi is a special cultural carrier that shows the spirit of the Chaoshan ancestors. During the 19th and 20th centuries, many Chaoshan people traveled to Southeast Asia for a better life. In an age without convenient communication, these letters became their only lifeline to their hometown and families.
This film is the final part of director Lan Hongchun's“Chaoshan Stories”; following Dad, I’ ll Surely Do(2018) and Take Me to Your Mom(2022). Lan said the film is not just “a love letter to grandma” but “a love letter to all overseas Chinese and to our homeland”. By telling a story that mixes family love with a sense of national duty, the film shows that the Chaoshan people's hard work, honesty, and love for their country are qualities that can touch anyone's heart.
23. What does the underlined word “fast-paced” in Paragraph 1 probably mean?
A. Quick and busy. B. Lively and exciting. C. Peaceful and relaxing.
24. What information about the letters can we get from Paragraph 2 EXCEPT ?
A. They are love letters from Xiaowei's grandpa to grandma.
B. They are a special kind of letter with money inside for families.
C. They are written by Xie Nanzhi to prevent Grandma from feeling sad.
25. How many movies about “Chaoshan Stories” are mentioned in the passage?
A. One. B. Two. C. Three.
26. What is the writing purpose of this passage?
A. To show us how beautiful the love story is.
B. To tell us what truly touches the hearts of people.
C To teach us how to catch people's eye.

Have you heard of the 24-hour food bank in Futian, Shenzhen? Inside these green smart boxes are fresh vegetables, fruit, bread, milk and other food. Believe it or not, everything is free! Among all food, the “veteran steamed buns(老兵馒头)” are especially popular. The story behind it is quite touching. A retired soldier(退伍兵) spends his own money making and providing them. Up to now,22 such smart boxes have been set up in Futian.
With the local government’ s support, the food banks work with businesses and restaurants to collect fresh food that is nearly out of date. To encourage more businesses to join in, companies donating food can get tax (税) cuts and praise. Strict food safety rules are carried out here. Social groups and volunteers carefully check all food from time to time. The boxes are kept at a low temperature all day. People can also find where every food item comes from.
The food banks follow one important rule: help the people in greatest need first. Before 8 p. m., only special groups, like low-income families, disabled people, gardening workers and elderly people living alone can book free food through the“i Shenzhen” App. After 8 p. m., any food left can be taken by anyone. Nothing goes to waste.
These food banks offer more than free food. They help create a warmer community and support environmental protection. So far, the project has helped 484,000 people. It has also stopped about 200 tons of food from being thrown away as rubbish. Now the food banks have become a symbol of Shenzhen's spirit of creativity and kindness.
