You can hardly pay no attention to hunger. Hunger has many different causes, according to Dr. Monique Tello, from Harvard Medical School.
The first cause may be medical problems. “If a person always feels hungry and can’t put on weight or even loses weight, he should go to the hospital. For people with Type 1 diabetes (糖尿病), their body isn’t able to process sugar (分解糖). They eat a lot, but still lose weight and they feel terrible.” Tello said.
If it isn’t a medical cause, the problem could be in the head. It’s reasonable to be hungry every three to five hours. However, you are likely to eat often and a lot after watching food advertisements on TV or social media. Also, the more you eat, the larger your stomach gets, and the more you want to eat. A person’s state of mind can play a role, too. Research has shown that stress can increase levels of ghrelin (饥饿激素). Pressure and worry can send people looking into the fridge when they’re not truly hungry.
Another reason may be the lifestyle. Sometimes the reason why a person is always hungry is that he eats too little, exercises too much, or both.
So, what are the solutions? First, reduce your time on watching food advertisements on TV and social media. In addition, say no to food if you’re not really hungry. Finally, change your diet by eating more food high in fiber (纤维), protein (蛋白质) and healthy fats.
43. According to Tello, what should you do if you are always hungry and getting thinner?
A. Eat more food. B. Change your diet. C. See a doctor. D. Do some exercise.
44. What can you learn from Paragraph 3?
A. You don’t feel like eating when you’re worried.
B. You will probably eat more when you feel stressed.
C. The smaller your stomach is, the healthier you will be.
D. The more food advertisements you watch, the less you eat.
45. How many solutions does the writer give in Paragraph 5?
A. Two. B. Three. C. Four. D. Five.
46. What’s the structure (结构) of the article? (P=Paragraph)
A. B. C. D.
47. Which of the following is the best title for the article?
A. How often should you eat? B. What food makes you healthier?
C. How can you lose weight? D. Why are you always so hungry?
D
A dragon-shaped bronze statue (青铜像) with a “tiger head and tiger brain” was discovered at the Sanxingdui site (遗址) in Guanghan, Sichuan Province. This kind of object has never been found in other sites of the Bronze Age in China.
The shape of this dragon is a bit special as its head is like a tiger’s head, and its ears are round like those of a tiger. But it has two long horns( 犄角) on its head. Its mouth is also special with something like a knife in it. And its body is like a flying dragon.
According to reports, this statue is about 80 cm high, but it’s still not a complete bronze. Experts have found that this statue has no supports in front of it, and its main body is beyond the base. So it probably needs to lean (倚靠) on other objects to keep its balance.
So where is the missing part? After searching, experts made another great discovery about half a meter away: the top-shaped snake-like figure (雕像). The 1.5-meter-high body is supported on a square base with both hands, and turns upward. It also needs to lean on other objects to keep balance.
Now some experts guess that the two statues are probably the same set of objects. If the guess proves to be true, this will become another huge Sanxingdui bronze.
More than 50,000 ancient objects have been found at the Sanxingdui site since the late 1920s. It all began in 1929 when a farmer was digging a hole there and it opened the door to an unknown culture of 3,000 to 5,000 years old.
48. What can we know about the bronze statue?
A. Its shape is like a tiger.
B. There are two long horns on its mouth.
C. It has been found in other sites of the Bronze Age in China.
D. It was found at the Sanxingdui site in Guanghan, Sichuan Province.
49. What does the underlined word “those” in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A. Horns. B. Heads. C. Ears. D. Mouths.
50. Why does the statue need to lean on other objects according to the experts?
A. Because its main body is too long. B. Because it has to keep its balance.
C. Because it has supports behind it. D. Because it is an independent bronze.
51. What can we infer from the experts’ guess?
A. The missing part of the dragon-shaped statue is probably the snake-like figure.
B. The snake-like figure is the first bronze that has been found at the Sanxingdui site.
C. The snake-like figure is quite different from the tiger-shaped figure.
D. More than 50,000 ancient objects have been found at the Sanxingdui site.
52. What’s the main idea of this passage?
A. The guess of some experts.
B. The missing part of a dragon-shaped bronze statue.
C. The discovery of a dragon-shaped bronze statue.
D. The history of Chinese unknown culture.

My happiness comes from my father’s love
Happiness lies everywhere. Everyone has a different idea of happiness. My happiness comes from my father’s love.
When I was a little kid, I was weak and often got sick. Many times, I was taken to the hospital by my father, in his arms or on his back. And he would say to me, “You will be OK. You are a super boy.” After bearing that, I felt happy and my pain seemed to be over. Many days he got up early to cook for me. After I finished my food, a big smile would appear on his face. When I met with problems, he often stood by my side and encouraged me to face them bravely. It was my father who taught me to be responsible for what I have done.
I am very grateful for my father’s love and it is the source of my happiness.
