One possible version:
Dear fellow students,
Good morning. I’m Li Hua, a 10th-grade student. I’m greatly honored to deliver a speech themed “How to Use the Internet Wisely”.
The Internet contains a huge amount of information, which is extensive and relatively easy to access. It provides us with an excellent resource to gain knowledge. While the Internet is beneficial, it is essential to use it wisely. To begin with, you’re supposed to use it for research and skill development, not just for entertainment. Next, it is recommended to limit your screen time, taking breaks once in a while. Last but not least, you should ensure the safety of the websites you visit.
Have fun with the Internet. Thank you for your listening.

One possible version:
Upon arrival, Leo told his mother what was happening. They cleaned the baby swan’s wound, applied a bandage, and made a cozy bed with old towels. The next week, Leo fed it fish and changed its bandage. Slowly, the little one grew strong enough to flap its wings. One afternoon, Leo carried it back to the wetland. The moment he set it down, the mother swan glided over, brushing the baby swan tenderly with her beak. The other baby swans joined in the greeting, forming a small circle around their sibling as if welcoming it home. Watching the swan family reunite, Leo felt relieved, but also realized the wetland needed more protection than just one rescue.
Eager to make a difference, Leo decided to do more with others. He shared the swan’s story with his classmates, and together, they decided to set up a “Wetland Guardians” group. They put up posters to remind visitors not to litter and partnered with local environmental experts to build special feeding stations for the wetland birds. Now, every weekend, Leo and his friends visit the wetland to check on the birds. The once-injured swan has grown into a graceful, beautiful one, and it still swims over to greet Leo whenever he arrives—a gentle reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can help nature thrive.

Text 9
W: Hello, Ben. You look worried. What’s up?
M: Hi, Wendy. I’m having difficulty in learning Russian.
W: You learning Russian? Are you going abroad?
M: No. I’m just fascinated by Russian itself. But I’m stuck in a dead end right now. I actually asked my friend George for some learning advice the other day, but he doesn’t know anything about Russian. Wait, I remember you’re a Russian major, right?
W: Yeah. Do you have trouble with pronunciation or anything else?
M: In fact, I listen to tapes and read Russian aloud every morning, so I think my pronunciation is not bad. Besides, I’m good at remembering the words, so my vocabulary is also good. The problem is that I really don’t understand the use of grammar.
W: It is essential for beginners to build a good basic first. You should do more grammar exercises. Practice makes perfect.
M: Thank you. I know what I should do and I believe I can learn it well.
Text 10
M: Last year, I saw a kind of seabird when I was visiting an island, where they built their nests. Each female seabird laid just one egg every year. Young seabirds were cute. I was told that, as winter came, their parents left them behind and flew off to the sea. It was hunger rather than loneliness that made young seabirds fly off their nests. In the daytime, young seabirds headed out to the sea. At night, when they returned home, it was a different story. They always used the stars for finding directions, but the light of the town could fool them and make them head in the wrong direction. So I helped the local teenagers, who were allowed to stay out late and rescue young seabirds. After a night of rescuing, we carried the young seabirds down to the beach and threw them up high. Some seabirds weren’t ready to be set free if they were injured or whatever. In that case, they were taken to the local hospital. It was really worthwhile to see them fly toward the sea again.
A
根据Machu Picchu (Peru)部分的“It was built on a high mountain by the Inca people hundreds of years ago.”
根据Cape Floral Region (South Africa)部分的“This region is listed as a World Heritage Site because of its unique plants. It has over 9,000 kinds of flowers, many of which grow only here. The local environment is perfect for these plants to live and grow.(这个地区因其独特的植物而被列为世界遗产。
根据第二段中的“In July, a woman came across a skinny wolf while driving through Hoh Xil. The wolf looked hungry at the time. Out of kindness, the woman got out of the car and offered it some beef jerky.(七月,一名女子在驾车穿越可可西里时,偶遇一只瘦骨嶙峋的狼。
根据第三段中的“Last October, a netizen posted a video in which tourists fed several wild brown bears at a tourist attraction, saying that these bears often got close to the village for food and that there seemed to be a ‘harmonious’ relationship between locals and bears.(去年10月,一位网友发布了一段视频,视频中游客在一个景点喂了几只野生棕熊,并称这些熊经常靠近村庄觅食,当地人和熊之间似乎有一种‘和谐’的关系。)”
根据最后一段内容,尤其是Dai Qiang所说的话“‘Reserve has a complex food chain. Unless an animal is endangered, it’s better to stay away from it,’ said Dai Qiang, an animal researcher. ‘And wild animals may carry bacteria. Getting too close to them can be dangerous.’(动物研究员Dai Qiang表示:‘保护区食物链复杂。
根据三段中的“The group is organizing community activities that make outdoor play exciting again, including a bike-buddy program where children can cycle to school together, and Balance Boxes filled with small toys and clay designed screen-free fun at restaurants.(该组织正在策划再次让户外活动变得令人兴奋的社区活动,其中包括让孩子们可以一起骑车上下学的‘自行车伙伴’计划以及装满小玩具和黏土的‘平衡盒子’,专为孩子们在餐厅里提供无屏幕娱乐而设计。)”
根据第四段中的“In fact, 89 percent... the average age of receiving one’s first phone is 9. To solve this problem, the Smartphone Free Childhood launched a parent agreement in Oxfordshire, where parents of around 4,000 children promised not to give their kids smartphones until at least the end of 8th grade.(事实上,89%的12岁英国儿童拥有智能手机,收到第一部手机的平均年龄为9岁。
根据最后一段中的“A childhood without smartphones is not about going backwards; it reconnects children to the magic of this early time in their lives.[没有智能手机的童年,并非倒退,它(没有智能手机的童年)让孩子重新找回童年本该有的那份奇妙。]”可知,it指代前一分句中的“A childhood without smartphones”。
D
根据第三段中的“Shiguwen led to the invention of dazhuan (the large-seal script), and then xiaozhuan (the small-seal script) that was simpler in structure. These were followed by lishu (the clerical script), kaishu (the regular script), xingshu (the running script) and caoshu(the cursive script).
根据第四段中的“Practicing calligraphy becomes a carefree dance of the Chinese brush on paper, which is far beyond communicating the meanings of the characters being written. Calligraphy is not only about writing but stresses the beauty of each stroke, the balance of composition, and the expression of the artist’s inner spirit. Such writing unites Chinese people living in different corners of the country from all walks of life.
37. E【解析】根据上文“For important accounts like banking, always use two-factor authentication.(对于像银行这样的重要账户,始终要启用双因素身份验证。)”以及下文“This means even if someone steals your password, they still can’t get into your account without second check.(这意味着即使有人窃取了你的密码,如果没有第二步验证,他们也无法访问你的账户。)”
38. D【解析】根据上文“Using the same password for many accounts is very dangerous. Hackers often use stolen passwords on different websites. If you use unique passwords for each account, you will be much safer.(对许多账户使用相同的密码是非常危险的。
39. F【解析】根据上文“Remembering different passwords can be challenging.(记住多个不同的密码可能具有挑战性。)”
40. G【解析】根据上文“These programs store all your passwords behind one master password.(这些程序将您的所有密码存储在一个主密码后面。)”及下文“Once your master password is lost, you will be locked out of all your accounts.

Hoh Xil National Nature Reserve is located in Qinghai Province. It's home to more than 200
species of wild animals. These include chirus, yaks, deer and brown bears.Recently, however,a
wolf has stolen the show.
In July,a woman came across a skinny wolf while driving through Hoh Xil.The wolf looked
hungry at the time.Out of kindness, the woman got out of the car and offered it some beef jerky
()She later posted a video of her experience online. The video attracted many tourists to
the area to feed the hungry wolf.Three months later, the wolf again caught public attention with
noticeable changes in its size.In a recent video, the wolf can be seen as much larger and fatter.
More surprisingly,it has learned to beg tourists for food!
Feeding wild animals isn't an unusual practice among tourists in the area.In addition to wild
wolves, brown bears have also received their share of handouts from visitors.Last October,a
netizen posted a video in which tourists fed several wild brown bears at a tourist attraction, saying
that these bears often got close to the village for food and that there seemed to be a "harmonious"
relationship between locals and bears.
However, experts warn that such behavior can have bad effects on these animals,as they may
become increasingly dependent on humans..“Reserve has a complext(复杂的)food chain,Unless an

wild animals may carry bacteria().Getting too close to them can be dangerous."

There was a time, not so long ago, when kids built little houses, climbed trees, and rode bikes
until dark. These outdoor activities or adventures have not disappeared. They are just waiting to be
rediscovered beyond screens.
While technology offers many benefits, the fact that many children have smartphones may
change how they develop, play, and connect as much of the technology that kids are using is
designed to be addictive. However, parents including Holly Moscatiello, founder of The Balance
Project, are helping children by getting them off screens and back into real life.
"We want to make it just as easy to experience life in our community as it is to go on their
smartphones,Moscatiello explained. The group is organizing community activities that make
outdoor play exciting again, including a bike-buddy program where children can cycle to school
together, and Balance Boxes filled with small toys and clay designed screen-free fun at restaurants.
While efforts are being made to get children outdoors, the harm of smartphone addiction goes
much deeper.Too much smartphone use can also lead to anxiety, attention problems, and sleep
trouble, according to the UK-based organization Smartphone Free Childhood. The organization,
which was founded in 2024 and includes more than 350,000 parents, stresses that smartphones
were not designed with kids in mind yet have reshaped childhood nearly overnight. In fact,89
percent of 12-year-old British kids own a smartphone and the average age of receiving one's first
phone is 9.To solve this problem, the Smartphone Free Childhood launched a parent agreement in
Oxfordshire, where parents of around 4,000 children promised not to give their kids smartphones
until at least the end of 8th grade.
Community-based activities like The Balance Project and Smartphone Free Childhood prove
that parents do not have to face this issue alone.By working together, they are creating a cultural
change where outdoor play,face-to-face friendships, and presence are valued again.A childhood
without smartphones is not about going backwards;it reconnects children to the magic of this early
time in their lives.
28.What message does paragraph 1 intend to express?
A.Screens have replaced all outdoor games.
B.Smartphones attract most of kids'attention.
C.Parents need to ask children to play outdoors.
D.Schools should stop varieties of digital events.
29.How does The Balance Project help kids addicted to phones?
A.By limiting their daily screen time.
B.By lengthening their time at school.
C.By organizing fun activities for them.
D.By inspiring them to talk with parents.

30.What's the goal of Smartphone Free Childhood?
A.To promote kid-friendly smartphones.
B.To encourage parents to quit phone use.
C.To ensure kids use phones only for learning.
D.To put off children's access to smartphones.
31.What does the underlined word "it"in the last paragraph refer to?

Chinese calligraphy, known as shufa,is the art of writing Chinese characters as a form of
artistic expression. The birth of Chinese calligraphy began with the formation of Chinese characters
thousands of years ago, including the inscriptions()on animal bones and tortoise shells, and
the ones carved on bronze vessels(青铜器皿l).
An important development of the calligraphic script is the widely known shiguwen,or the
inscriptions on stone drums, upon which Qinshihuang unified the writing of characters.
Shiguwen led to the invention of dazhuan (the large-seal script),and then xiaozhuan (the
small-seal script)that was simpler in structure. These were followed by lishu(the clerical script),
kaishu (the regular script),xingshu (the running script)and caoshu(the cursive script).
Practicing calligraphy becomes a carefree dance of the Chinese brush on paper, which is far
beyond communicating the meanings of the characters being written.Calligraphy is not only about
writing but stresses the beauty of each stroke(),the balance of composition, and the
expression of the artist's inner spirit.Such writing unites Chinese people living in different corners
of the country from all walks of life.Whether they are a scholar,a painter,a calligrapher or a
common calligraphy lover, they share the pleasure brought by calligraphy.
The role calligraphy plays in Chinese cultural tradition is also obvious in the close link between
it and painting.Normally, they are mentioned in a union as shuhua(calligraphy and painting).A
Chinese painting often bears calligraphy, added by its creator or collectors and viewers.
In 1926,Liang Qichao,a famous thinker and educator of modern China, gave a speech titled A
Guide to Calligraphy at Tsinghua campus, during which he said that calligraphy is the most
beautiful and convenient tool for entertaining...to calm one's heart and mind.He went on to note
that calligraphy shows the beauty of lines and the strength of handwriting.
32.On which did Qinshihuang base the unified writing of characters?
A.The inscriptions on stones.
B.The inscriptions on bones.
C.The inscriptions on vessels.
D.The inscriptions on shells.
33.Which of the following appeared first?
A.Lishu.
B.Caoshu.
C.Xingshu.
D.Dazhuan.
34.What's paragraph 4 mainly about?
A.The history of calligraphy.
B.The function of calligraphy.
C.The combination of calligraphy and painting.
D.The relationship between calligraphy and painting.
35.Why is Liang Qichao's speech mentioned?
A.To teach people to enjoy calligraphy.
B.To advise people to learn calligraphy.

Online Security Tips
In today's digital world, keeping your online accounts safe is very important. Many people use
simple passwords or use the same password for many websites, which can bring big security
problems. Here are some useful tips to help you stay safe online.
36
Simple passwords are easy for hackers to get.To make your passwords safer, you can use
strong ones. They should be long, with different letters, numbers and special signs.Such
passwords are very hard for hackers to guess. But they are also hard to remember,so you may need
to write them down.
Two factor Login(2FL).
For important accounts like banking, always use two factor authentication().37 This
means even if someone steals your password, they still can't get into your account without the
second check. It takes more time to log in,but the safety it brings is worth it.
Use unique passwords.
Using the same password for many accounts is very dangerous.Hackers often use stolen
passwords on different websites. If you use unique passwords for each account, you will be much
safer.38
Use a password manager.
Remembering different passwords can be challenging.39 Some password managers are
built into web browsers, while others are separate devices with no Internet connection. These
programs store all your passwords behind one master password.40 Once your master
password is lost, you will be locked out of all your accounts.
A.Keep safe passwords.
B.Use strong passwords.
C.Changing passwords often improves security.
D.Strong and unique passwords are key to online safety.
E.A second check,like a code,makes your account safer.
F.Password managers can help you store and organize passwords.

Dear fellow students,
16-year-old Leo had a deep love for visiting the wetland near his hometown every weekend. It
was his secret escape,a place overgrown with weeds, with fresh water nearby, where the air
smelled sweet and the sound of birdsong covered him like a warm coat.He always carried a small
bag of grain in his pocket, not just to feed the swans(),but to watch the way their graceful
necks moved as they ate.Last Sunday, however,a sense of unease swept over him-something felt
out of the ordinary.
As Leo walked along the wetland path,he called softly for his favorite swan family:a mother
swan and her three babies.Normally, the mother would lift her head at the sound of his voice and
walk quickly toward him,her lovely babies following closely behind. But that day, only two babies
appeared. His heart dropped immediately when he noticed a white shape lying beside the weeds,
without a move.
Not wanting to waste a single second,Leo rushed over.There,half-hidden by the grass,he
found the missing baby swan:it let out weak calls and its left wing was broken.Carefully cupping
the tiny bird in his hands,Leo gently wrapped it in his jacket to protect it from the cold."Don't
worry, little one,"he said softly."I won't let anything happen to you."
Leo didn't hesitate-he held the baby swan close to his chest and hurried toward home to seek
help from his vet()mother.His legs ached as he ran,but he didn't slow down;his mind raced
with plans. The quiet wetland, once a place of calm where he'd sat for hours watching the swans,
now felt cold and lifeless, the air thick with the pressure of a race against time. But as he felt the
baby swan's soft heartbeat close to him, calm yet weak,he was determined to give it a fighting
chance,no matter what.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150个左右;
Upon arrival,Leo told his mother what was happening.
